Hats off for making such a vulnerable video. Not just the topic but speaking to the insecurity that has been tied to it during periods.
The difference between your before and afters in the first have are honestly not very noticeable-but the video of you a year ago to now is amazing. I can tell it’s what you have been looking for.

Honestly every guy dealing with this has a different perspective and approach. As for me I'm 30 now and have been dealing with it since my late teens. I just shave it all down and that works for me and I like it and so does my wife. Plus it saves a lot of money and time! It's a win-win and I like it. If anyone wants to shave it off, just do it. Just hit the gym, gain muscle and lose excess fat, and grow some facial hair if you can. You'll look great, but that's just my recommendation and it works for me 👍👍

I’m 48 now but I was fine with my hair until I turned 40 from that point on the hair loss was pretty fast. I did a light treatment of micro-pigmentation and I shave my head every other day and it works great for me. No more trips to the barbershop wasting time and I save a ton of money too.

To each his own Dale but u would have looked perfectly fine if u just buzzed it off with electric trimmers. Way less maintenance too. You would be used to it in one week.

This is such an important topic for men. Thanks for sharing. I just recently built up the courage to shave my head after struggling with hair loss for 10 years. It really takes a toll on your self confidence. It’s a huge improvement, but I’d love to have a full head of hair again. I’m also in Baltimore, so perhaps I’ll have to pay Dr. Shreiber a visit.

I'll come back and watch the rest Dale. (Sorry you might say it later) Do you still take Finasteride? I take Minoxidil/loniten orally (changed my life, I started loosing early as well) and still take Finasteride but I'd be keen to stop it, but weary about how well donor hair would cope without (not had transplant yet). Ty

I no longer do finasteride, I’ve been off of it since roughly 2011, many side affects for me but that’s not to say it doesn’t work, it definitely does. I still use minoxidil!

Dale - when I saw your 2003 picture I thought, wow we are about the same age 😂. I’m only about year older.
It takes a lot of guts and humility to publicly admit to what you feel is a weakness, or something you don’t like about yourself. I haven’t myself struggled much with hair loss outside of a slight receding of the hair line, the “widows peak”. However I can relate to the body image aspect in that even when I was at my healthiest weight I always carry some extra fat/skin on my belly and love handles. It sucks. I’m not sure what options I would have outside of lipo suction or just very extreme ab workouts. But I’ve been extremely lean before and that is just a trouble area for my body type/shape. It’s definitely much worse when I put on extra weight.

We are kindred spirits, I am also struggling to lose weight. I am currently intermittent fasting 3 days a week, it hurts and it sucks to skip food but it is so rewarding when the weight comes off. Dr. Jason Fung is an excellent source for fasting information, he gets me through when I’m at my weakest!!!

@@DalesLeatherworks Thank you Dale and also I just realized this was a “previously recorded” vid and watched your talk with BootSpy, we’re both ‘85ers 🤙🏼 .
Thank you for the suggestion on intermittent fasting. I am blessed to have a relatively good metabolism, so a healthier diet, cutting out or severely limiting soda, and increasing exercise would help tremendously. Just sucks to have “genetic” problem areas but I guess we don’t get to always choose what hand we are dealt.

TLDW - You could just craft yourself a leather skull cap. I have resorted to head shaving for past 25 years and that works for me. I wish all the best on their own journeys. Now, let's get back to BOOTS!!!

Well, I started losing mine at 24… I was good for awhile because I had real thick hair… Then a good friend was a hair stylist and worked for a shop that did hair pieces, yep he talked me into a small one for the back of my head since that’s where the loss was… Was not a fan, so then started to buzz it short and then later started using a Norelco to get it real close…. Yes, would rather have hair but hey, things could be a lot worse since your health is far more important than worrying about some hair loss….Not a fan of transplants and all that expense and aggravation and they always look obvious but that’s me…. Good luck with yours Dale, hope it works out for you….GG

So currently I am using vitamins, and other things for a few months to see any results. Now I am curious how much did you spend on the transplant itself? the other thing I am worried about is if I had one done how much time off work would you need to recover from the transplant. If you have any extra time I would love to shoot you a email and talk more about it. im 31 years old so I am trying to my best with what I know.

My doctor recommended I take a week off each time but actually this last time I only took 4 days off and by then the swelling was gone and I returned to work with no issues. The price varies but for my first 2000 it was $9k and this most recent round was about the same with inflation 😂 happy to talk more! My email is dalebasista@gmail.com

Istanbul Turkey appears to be the place to go for hair transplants. If you walk around the city, you will see dozens guys walking around every day who've just gotten the transplants. People come from around the world to get it done. Cost is about 1/10th of what it costs in the US and they appear to be very good at what they do. Maybe it is like Grant Stone for hair transplants?

I’m not sure I agree with your Red Wing analogy or the knock on them. Red Wing is an American company that is fully integrated that also uses union labor. How often do you see that in the boot or shoe industry? You talk about Grant Stone, but they had to go to China to get the prices at a competitive level. Don’t get me wrong, I love Grant Stone, but from a company stand point what Red Wing has been able to accomplish is pretty impressive.

Dude.. honestly..., hell with all that... haha.., I mean.., at 34.. I have plenty of hair still and no first hand experience.., but my 2 cents..., drop like 10-15 pounds of weight.. and shave your head bald..., I bet you would have a way better look/style and would pull it off just fine with your head shape.. i wouldn't bother with all that hair plug stuff.. probably mad expensive and imo.. doesn't look all that great.. and I just want to stress..., I'm not bidding on you in any way, not trying to be a jerk.., just my opinion/constructive criticism.. you'd be better off going the Jason Statham route.. getting your face looking a little thinner would ideal though for it.. end of the day.., whatever makes ya happy

Hard to hear, but I agree. It’s depressing to lose one’s hair to feel like you’re losing your youth and attractiveness. But once you accept it and own it, and shave your head, you realize that’s in fashion almost just as much as a full head of hair as these days, so you can’t really go wrong, unless you have an odd shaped head. The cost and pain of the hair transplants is not worth it. It still doesn’t look natural and to me it says that you are afraid to age gracefully. I can only speak with this authority because I lost my hair at 23 and, after two years of being depressed about it, I found freedom on the other side of acceptance. TBH I noticed the hair transplant from the first video I clicked on, and I love the videos about boots and I love Dale‘s attitude and his personality and everything. He seems like a really awesome guy. but we all have issues deal with. I’m Sure what his wife cares about is if he’s happy or not, she would love him with hair or without it. I would love to see him just own it, and join the clean head, shaved look trend. 😂 it’s clean it’s cheap. It’s easy very little maintenance and you just don’t have to think about it anymore. It’s really freeing.
