That’s a great way of doing it. I’m trying to get those records back where they belong and try to be more organized. But i know that there will be a contest that will want to see my Linda collection and i will be back where i started! Lol

Hello Tony P! This is why threads that require me to get out more than four albums are a pain lol. I try not to let them build up too much but it happens. Put away five albums during the course of playing an album 🤷🏻 Keep ‘em’ spinning!
Hi Tony. If it were up to me this topic you’ve touched on along with your video should go viral in the VC! I’m sure everyone (some much more than others) can relate. This is a constant struggle in my home. For numerous reasons be it a VC thread or challenge or a new collection I acquired I often times have records leaning all over the living room floor, my man cave and our bedroom. My wife is a saint and never complains but I know she would prefer them put away. My collection is alphabetized and in genres. When I do decide to clean up and put every record in its proper place (just so I can start a new mess a few days later 😂) I take it stack by stack usually 10 records at a time and walk back and forth putting each album where it belongs. It’s tedious but I enjoy the time I spend with my collection so it’s not all bad. Great topic. Steve
Steve, thank you for the nice comments I appreciate it. I’m just a darn procrastinator. If i enter a contest that says, show all your albums from 1971, we are going to be awhile. And those poor albums will be out for a while. I’m in the process of alphabetizing the ones i have out to put away. I think it’s going to be a while :). Thank you for stopping over. I appreciate it. Also, the Queen doesn’t mind the albums being out as long as it is in the man cave. I don’t have a stereo in our many living room. :(
Honestly, Tony.. I put them together by bands/ artists only, for now. For me to alphabetize would take days. I pretty much remember where each band is in various racks around my house. I really want to do genres, like a country rock section, prog section ( which I already have ) 😊
Tony, I started putting all in alphabetical order, the thing is I got album in 7 different corners of the Casa… I just sit down in front of a pile and choose a few I wanna spin then put them back best way I can… Can’t stress with that, I’m no collector, am just a music lover 🎶🎶🎶
Hey Tony!! I have the same problem as you! I usually grab a big bunch of albums from the floor stack and walk around the room piling the albums on top of or in front of the shelf they belong in. When I have all the records in the relative area then I will put them away in alphabetical order. 3 records in the A section, 4 in the Ds, 6 in the Rs, 2 in the country section etc. I don’t have to complete the whole job at once, but the floor is clean and the records are in the general area. Thats exactly what i did today. I trued to alphabetize what i have out. It was extensive. Being an old codger i got tired and had to take a nap. But i played an album first.

I have my albums separated by style like I have my Rock and Metal together in alphabetical order then I have my POP albums then I move into my 70’s singer song writer/ folk then Country then Christian then Jazz then instrumental/ Soundtrack.. Actually it’s the only jeff Beck. I do like it a great deal. Ido a great deal of thrifting. You dint see many if his albums in the wild. You may want to listen to his, Wired, album.

Thats really interesting. I never gave that a thought. By artists would be an idea.
That way, we don't have to A thru Z our collection. You will, for the most part, remember where the bands/ artists are.

Tony, I always like to busy so as I play music I put it away an album at a time. If I have a lot I do alphabetize it first to save me time

I pull an album one at a time. Listen to it. Then put it away. Simple as that. When I have to pull a stack for YT video? That's another story. 😬😂
