If anyone cannot continue to take care of an animal, please surrender them to a shelter, don't be ashamed of it. It's heartless and cruel to abandon a member of your family like this.

All the shelters in my area are full and so are the fosters. It's a nationwide problem. Local govt. must start having free spay/neutering clinics. It's the only way to stop the suffering and neglect.

This is the problem: folks get pets to amuse them or fulfill emotional voids. As such, folks do not have a mindset that is honestly based on interacting with a living thing. It’s an objective mindset first, and when an object outlives its usefulness, folks throw it away. This is why I think pet ownership needs far more qualification guidelines and certifications.
People never cease to amaze me with the level of their cruelty toward animals. But at the same time, other people never cease to amaze me with their selflessness in rescuing them!

@redcatt, I am 100% on board with what you said. Our lawmakers are eunichs No balls. What are they so afraid of. All we need is a law that gets you imprisoned if you mistread an animal. We should not have to spell it out for them. Politician, lawmakers useless creatures.

My passion is all about the animals! Whole heart and soul. But humanity really needs a reality check.. these animals need us. We need to be their voice! Amen to people who really do help/rescue these poor creatures. They are a gift from God!

Well thats rude.. and you're not the one to judge about anything, God the all mighty is. Some people don't have choices, what if shelters couldn't take a cats or dogs because they are greedy and want money in order to take them? Similar type of situation when i was in FL, they wanted 50$ and plus for to take my two kittys and one was not neutered. I had to go, we were becoming homeless in a truck for a few months because someone was kicking us out. Nothing you can do.

How people do these things to animals is just beyond me. It makes me wish we could do to the owners what they did to the animal. We are to care for the animals and protect them. It takes a real arse to treat animals like this.

I was laughing at the comedy of mishaps that these wonderful rescuers kept encountering (the shoe stuck in the mud!), and also crying at this poor abandoned pup with cacti stuck to him. There's no excuse for dumping a dog like that. NONE. Thank goodness there are people like The Animal Pad out there caring for these beautiful furbabies!

It doesn't shock me anymore- we can be such terrible monsters to one another over meaningless things, and animals unfortunately aren't spared from experiencing that awful human trait. Dogs are so forgiving and trusting; breaks my heart anytime I see an abandoned dog.

I think they can feel comfort when something is around their neck. To them it might mean someone is attached to them. They remember when someone did that to them before and get more relaxed.

I have an almost 2 year old shiba inu. I got her as a four month old from an amish mennonite family. While i dont think they were bad to her, she just never got the attention she needed and deserved. So of course shes been challenging because of that(and of course her being a shiba inu is another set of challenges). That being said, i could never, ever abandon her. Shes my everything and I'm her everything. So ican'tt understand why people abandon their dogs, especially when the dogs need them the most. Im just grateful there's people in this world willing to go through anything to rescue the purest souls on this planet. And I'm grateful the dodo exists to tell us these amazing stories. These stories are crucial to society since we all need positivity in our lives.
