Monster Manor TV’s Behind the Screams Featurette: The Gentle Monster, BORIS KARLOFF

Boris Karloff, born William Henry Pratt to Anglo-Indian parents in London, England, was an unlikely gentleman to become cinema’s quintessential monster. Many turns in his life brought him to Hollywood, and ultimately, to the character that would change his, and many other’s lives almost a century later! This featurette sets out to celebrate the life of the only actor that could give a monster a soul; whose pantomime in the role, spoke more than any actor could and helped shape Universal’s uncertain future. And along with a handful of his fellow screen actors (including fellow Universal Monster , Bela Lugosi) helped create what would become the first actor’s union, protecting their rights and countless others, for generations to come.
