The main thing that never made me buy Super7 Simpsons was the fact that they never released the family in their normal outfits. I kept holding off from buying any of the Super7 Simpsons toys because it seemed pointless to me to have numerous versions of side characters and Homer in other costumes, without having the main family in their iconic outfits. They really should've started with the iconic version of the family, this would've actually made me buy them all and encouraged me to buy the different side characters as well. Without the family in their most well known outfits, I eventually lost interest in the line. Then now this happens. Let this be a lesson to toy companies. If you're gonna sell toys from a certain property, make sure the main characters get represented right off the bat in their most iconic forms!
Looking at NECA's Turtles line, maybe you really do need to lay a foundation of getting the core important figures in their iconic looks first, giving confidence to people that they'll have the essential ones, and can then add on to those with the more obscure characters and variant looks down the line...

Regarding Disney Ultimates: I absolutely believe there is a market for such a line with broad character selection, but at the price point these were, their quality and execution would have to be much better. I can list mutliple examples, but just look at the differences between the prototypes of Alice and Pinocchio and the actual releases; the final paint apps on the faces were just terribly off model. There is also the matter of actually making the 'ultimate' version: there is no excuse for Stitch not coming with extra arms and antennae. Complaining aside, I would be interested to know who was responsible for character selection. Was there a licensing issue which prevented the inclusion of heavy hitters from the golden age, like Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, two movies who have never recieved proper action figures? Or even newer ones like Moana, or Frozen? Going for properties like Robind Hood and Fantasia made this way more niche than it needed to be.
Is there a way we can submit questions for these? Like will the accessory packs be made available for international buyers who don't want to import from the US? And why were Simpsons Ultimates 5 listed as not available in Canada (though Canadian shops have them from preorder)? Anyways, I love these interviews and can't wait to listen to this one!

This idiot Flynn saying the main characters are the ones that make the register ring but then failed to give us a regular Bart or Homer Simpson. A Disney line with no Goofy, Donald or even Pluto, real smart CEO super7 has.
My problem with Simpsons and Disney Ultimates! is that while in theory I'd like to collect them, in practice I am currently collecting Thundercats and Silverhawks Ultimates so Super7 really had to convince me to add a 3rd or 4th line to my budget but they didn't. Too many variants and tertiary characters, not to mention QC issues (I mean, you had to ask Super7 for Moe's apron, and being an international customer I don't even know if I was elegible), so in the end I just cancelled my preorders (something I didn't want to do, but I didn't see a future in those lines).
Good interview. Some interesting insights. Putting at least one Simpsons family member in their default look per wave seems like a no-brainer. Brian himself said most lines don't last past wave 3, so why did he structure the Simpsons line like it it would last a dozen waves? On the other hand, I think Disney just has higher expectations for revenue from its IPs, including Simpsons. However, we don't see a ton of Simpsons merchandise at mass retail, so maybe it's just not a merchandise mover.
The one chance of me collecting Super7 is IF…IF!!!!…..the crew begins making Double Dragon cartoon figures…..those designs would be a perfect match for Super7.
I'd love to know if Silvehawks are getting Reaction as well as more Thundercats too like Snarf etc in that line. Be great if you guys took quesitons. Great talk either way.
I really hope they can come to an agreement with Disney for Simpsons and we get the rest of the characters they were working on. Their Simpsons figures look so good and I personally like the scale.
Based on what Super7 chose to make for the Disney line, I side with Disney. The Rescuers? A Fantasia Hippo? They should’ve played to the audience with disposable income to burn. NECA Gargoyles’ success proves the 90s market couldve been huge for S7, but they chose to go after the “60 and over” market and ignore other Disney Afternoon/Disney Renaissance characters. Maybe they’ll learn if they get another shot 🤷♂️
There’s no excuse. Super7 keeps screwing up with their figures and Veebs doesn’t help with asking softball questions. Getting real tired of “influencers” being in bed with these toy companies. It’s one sided when you get your product earlier than everyone else and don’t critique it at all.
At a price of $40 to $45, with at least ONE main character per wave (in their standard look/outfit), a lot more collectors would have been all-in. How did they not just follow their own model that was established with TMNT? Also thank god they are ditching the extravagant shipper box/slipcover packaging, too little too late I guess.
I’m wondering about the Animaniacs, although I was so disappointed with certain aspects of the first figures that I just settled for the reaction ones. I mean, ultimates Yakko’s head was so big. And I needed some in scale Pinky and Brain figures too to go with the Warners. But then, the Reaction figures have another issue of the doctor being the same size as the Warners. Incidentally, a Freakazoid figure would be amazing.
I appreciated Brain letting everyone know what happened with Simpsons and Disney as a whole. I agree they didn't them very well, though. The issues with the Simpsons Ultimates such as odd line-ups, complaints regarding character selection and prices, and declining sales (I imagine wave 4 barely squeaked by) combined with the Rescuers flopping made Disney realize that S7 just wasn't the right company for their properties. If there was one core family member per wave, the line would've done better. Good to know the rest of the Simpsons figures up for pre-order rn are still coming, but I kinda doubt Disney will work with them again. Yes, letting Super7 at least get out the core family would be great, but I imagine if Disney wants another 7" Simpsons line, they'd go with NECA or Diamond.
I'm just here to see the incompetence of the interviewer because I keep hearing how horrible it is not asking all the obvious questions everyone wants to know avoiding anything other then blowing Flynn like e everything is fine at super 7.Just here to witness the failure and destruction of integrity in sake of not upsetting Bryan.
So are Super 7 transformers are dead? still waiting on new waves and not a word on what's happening with them. We only really hear about Thundercat's, Turtles and Silverhawks. So bizarre now we are in Transformers 40th Anniversary year and nothing.
With all the Filmation properties they've done,I would love to see em tackle the Ghostbusters. I know its got a cult following and I want some modern figures of them.
Super7 screwed themselves with the Disney and Simpsons lines. Brian needs to humble himself and start doing what's best for the lines he's selling and not just what HE wants to do. Good thing I wasn't invested in those IPs.
Super7’s figures just don’t (typically) have a level of quality that justifies the price and they are unable to deliver figures that come close to their renders in looks and articulation….which sucks because I like some of their stuff and I love a bunch of their licenses
I love listening to Bryan talk business. Most companies seem to patronize or just give us PC garbage and not say anything interesting or insightful. He pulls back the curtain more often than not.
Hey Brian ! When are we getting an updated pinless go too Lion O ? Just like the mirror lion O . He's our ultimate Thundercat & deserves the updated treatment ... WE NEED HIM IN OUR COLLECTION !! you could always do a softgoods cape & an extra crowned head & call him King Lion O !! Just a thought 😊👍 🤞✨️👑✨️🤞
I'm happy with what Super 7 did with the simpsons because I lovevall those niche characters but I can understand how some felt they needed to have the core family. Happy I have krusty, Devil Ned, and Kodos coming.
I know it doesn’t need to be said but super 7 going from having 60 percent of their inventory going on clearance for more than half off, them fumbling the first joe crowd fund to head off their 0 ring line and now fumbling the Disney and Simpson license just inexcusable how these people can be handed gold and totally fail over and over. Okay if this guy isn’t embarrassed he has no shame
Very sad to hear about the Roger Rabbit series most of all .one more series we would’ve completed all five weasels and I guess Benny the cab was sculpted as well. Make baby Herman and that would’ve been the perfect line! Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the Muppets electric mayhem Super 7 style, it looked like they were going to make more Muppets but now that that’s canceled that’s too bad because I am looking forward to the Sesame Street line and we know we won’t get Kermit now with Disney being out but he would’ve been nice to pair up with the Sesame Street line.
The price points for the Ultimates and ReAction are too high, and for most, that's the problem. Luckily, I can usually snag the ones I want for at least 1/2 off at toy shows or other collectors who want to get rid of them.
I enjoy the TMNT and toxic crusaders line a ton and hope they continue. With that said I wish super7 would offer some sort of membership program that gave members the ability to vote on 1-2 figures in each wave of a chosen license. Then offer free shipping and the ability to purchase legacy accessory bundles like for the Tmnt line. Do something different that engages the fans because 3rd party vendors are selling things close to cost which kill preorders.

The Simpsons figures were great but way too big for how niche the characters were.
They look awesome tbh love the scale just v sad we wont get more
Too bad for the Disney license to be gone from Super 7 man ... I'm still on board for Thundercats, Silverhawks and GI Joe ultimates...😀👍💡
When are the Ultimates 2003 TMNT shipping?
I just saved a bunch of money on Simpsons pre orders
I cancled Simpson Nightmare Before Christmas DnD because no way are all the kids getting made
Veebs I'm so glad you name dropped Little John. You and I are right there together with him and Sslithe.
Super super bum that Simpsons line isnt continuing. Loved the awesome recurring and fan favorite guest characters.
Thanks again both 👌🏿👍🏿
The one chance of me collecting Super7 is IF…IF!!!!…..the crew begins making Double Dragon cartoon figures…..those designs would be a perfect match for Super7.
I'm sure turning a blind eye to the actual quality of your product and the feedback of the consumers is not affecting your sales at all....
Does he confirm if the Star Trek ultimate line is done?
Brian Flynn " king of excuses "
Please say this doesn't mean we're not getting Hank Scorpio now !!!!
who is still buying from Rip-Off 7. Hasbro just did D&D and had to clearance them out for $5.00 and you want $55.00. How is this company still running
Those hasbro DandD were disgusting, like comparing apples with caviar
Based on what Super7 chose to make for the Disney line, I side with Disney. The Rescuers? A Fantasia Hippo? They should’ve played to the audience with disposable income to burn. NECA Gargoyles’ success proves the 90s market couldve been huge for S7, but they chose to go after the “60 and over” market and ignore other Disney Afternoon/Disney Renaissance characters. Maybe they’ll learn if they get another shot 🤷♂️
Does that mean the Sesame Street Reaction figures and Sesame Street Supersize Vinyl figures are done too?
SESAME STREET IS NOT DISNEY,
There’s no excuse. Super7 keeps screwing up with their figures and Veebs doesn’t help with asking softball questions. Getting real tired of “influencers” being in bed with these toy companies. It’s one sided when you get your product earlier than everyone else and don’t critique it at all.
Someone had to say it !was all thinking it 😅
At a price of $40 to $45, with at least ONE main character per wave (in their standard look/outfit), a lot more collectors would have been all-in.
It's Friday?? How LONG was I asleep???
Great interview. I always love Brians perspective
When I first saw the wave 1 simpsons lineup I said it wouldnt last long.
No u didn’t
@@Nunos645cgh Actually I did and I'm sure archived somewhere in a facebook group comment when they announced it.
Can we please campaign to Brian that we want 2003 TMNT Ultimates??? Please!
no mention of when the king conan is coming out
At end of video they said Simpsons Wave 2 was shipping to customers in February.
With all the Filmation properties they've done,I would love to see em tackle the Ghostbusters. I know its got a cult following and I want some modern figures of them.
DAMN I LOVE CHICKEN FRIED STEAK
I like my party wagon as it is. I'm not going to put the stickers or think about it.
Expecting to see MASK announced this year
Bro, when are we getting Sesame St. Ultimates Big Bird?
Super7 screwed themselves with the Disney and Simpsons lines. Brian needs to humble himself and start doing what's best for the lines he's selling and not just what HE wants to do. Good thing I wasn't invested in those IPs.
Super7’s figures just don’t (typically) have a level of quality that justifies the price and they are unable to deliver figures that come close to their renders in looks and articulation….which sucks because I like some of their stuff and I love a bunch of their licenses
what they are doing with the power ranger license is a disaster
@@mikecendoya1814 what happened?
"And Whatnot With (insert guest)"
The first simpsons wave was stupid. Why not go with the main characters out of the gate? Instead they went with these niche characters
Dcompose Tendril and Metlar super Shogun figs and earthcorps Ultimates!!!! Inhumanoids rule!!!
I need a Snailman from Toxic Crusaders.
I love listening to Bryan talk business. Most companies seem to patronize or just give us PC garbage and not say anything interesting or insightful. He pulls back the curtain more often than not.
What do you think “PC” means ?
Personal Computer
No about toys… what was the name of that bread? I couldn’t make out the first work. Lark? Larp?
Just a thought 😊👍
🤞✨️👑✨️🤞
I'm happy with what Super 7 did with the simpsons because I lovevall those niche characters but I can understand how some felt they needed to have the core family. Happy I have krusty, Devil Ned, and Kodos coming.
I agree 100 percent
What does this mean for the Muppets Reactions? And no more Haunted Mansion? 😭
Yep, and Roger Rabbit.
Nomi Kane do great job on Homer deep space sculpt
I know it doesn’t need to be said but super 7 going from having 60 percent of their inventory going on clearance for more than half off, them fumbling the first joe crowd fund to head off their 0 ring line and now fumbling the Disney and Simpson license just inexcusable how these people can be handed gold and totally fail over and over. Okay if this guy isn’t embarrassed he has no shame
Make Real Ghostbusters Ultimates happen Brian Flynn!
Wait. This isn't The Fwoosh. Isn't Veebs The Fwoosh and then you have this channel for your own stuff?? I'm confused.
Robo and Veebs are not the Fwoosh. They were simply employees of the Fwoosh. They've since quit and are now doing stuff on this channel independently.
So who owns The Fwoosh??
Please Voltron Ultimate Pilots.....all 6
Damn, so no more Muppets reaction…
Interesting interview. Sorry to see the Simpsons line ending for now. It sounds like its a Disney issue as the other Disney lines are also canceled. Good news on the toy deco Silverhawks wave shipping out real soon!
