The strange tales wave was partly a midnight sons wave eh... So maybe they'll do another to finish it off with a couple of ghost rider variants? Well, midnight suns/ghost rider adjacent
Not that I've bought a lot figure this year, but this is my favorite purchase with the Wolverine and Joe Fixit two-pack coming in at a close second. My introduction to Ghost Rider came in the 90s, so this one hits all of the nostalgic buttons for me.
I wish we had a Zarathos bike for that Johnny. Didn’t get good until he started losing control. I would like that 90s Johnny with and without cyborg parts. And all characters from all eras of Ghost Rider.
Danny was my GR growing up. I first became aware of him when he appeared in all the 90s Marvel cartoons to eventually get his own Toybiz line. I am SO glad I pre-ordered this figure on BBTS because I can't seem to find him anywhere else. Can't wait to display him on my Danny Ketch shelf.
My figure of the year, Danny was the rider when I got into comics in the 90s, had been waiting for 20 years to replace my Toybiz Danny, the retro card was just more salt in the wound, that line was based on the 90s characters and they just gave us Johnny again in Danny's paint scheme
Dont worry they only did that because they wanted to put a cheap figure on that expensive card back to initiate a bunch of ghost rider figures to accent the failed haslab. Now that they have created that retro card not making a wave with it would be a waste of money. So probably one wave and a deluxe figure. Maybe two waves two deluxe. Maybe one wave and a single deluxe. Either way we will be getting a ghost rider retro wave.
When I saw this announced this was a must have and when it came in I was impressed. Huge Ghostrider fan my favorite character, Danny was my favorite look. Glad to see how you did the headlights because that is pretty much how I did mine. Now I need more characters, just got Lilith now I need updated Vengeance and 90's Johnny Blaze with the bike and hellfire shotgun. Also glad to see you did the same with the Johnny Ghostrider and put him on the Toybiz bike. That is just my minds eye of him too.
Perfect time for skele figgs. I hope Hasbro will give us full naked skeleton sometime in the future. Btw. I didn’t notice at first that this guy has a bit different skull sculpt! That’s great
Ooooh Target? Hopefully they're getting them in stores too. I just got a Venompool and a Hulkbuster, and saw new Venom and Carnage movie figures as well as some Classified series Road Pigs in stores.
Oh man I just got mine too! BBTS took thier sweet time as usual then I noticed it was in stock at pulse so I cancelled my bbts order. Been waiting YEARS for Danny with bike! My favorite version! Can't wait to crack mine open and team him up with frank and Logan 🖤🖤🖤
Xcorpeo did a great video on how to CUSTOMIZE Danny Ketch Ghost Rider as well Anyways great video brother.. looking forward to more of your Marvel Legends reviews 👑
I have the entire series of spirits of vengeance. A figure that Legends hasn’t made yet now that I think of it. Anyhow, a great series. I remember issue 13 had the glow in the dark face of the spirit of vengeance. It was a hard issue for me to find back in the 90s. But I still have them, protected in bags and cardboard backs. Great series. Johnny blaze and Dan Ketch team up.
I like the Johnny Blaze with the glowing eyes more. But this is pretty good for the price. Grew up reading both Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. It makes sense Danny is shorter since he is still a teenager at the time.
I had no association with Ghost Rider. Sure I knew of him. Flaming bike with flaming skull rider. I had no idea there was Johnny and Danny. Heh. Couldn’t be Ralph or Mark. Needed the “ny” ending to the name. To me it’s just different looks and I really like the 90s kind of sci-fi boxy bike look. I like the more extreme spikes all over look too. So while Toybiz one was small and odd proportions, I like it. I kept it too. Kind of works for the 4” Marvel Universe or the card game 4” figure. It has weird proportions too. $10 cheaper is nice. I got a few on the Target sale. I’d like to see Hasbro take the Riders wave Vengeance. I’ve still got that monster and his cruddy bike. The Nick Cage bike from the movie works ok for Vengeance. I just wonder how they feel about riders. Fans aren’t really picking them up unless on sale.
I want that bike, but just so I can turn it into a Star Wars speeder. Probably cut off the front wheel and its support arms and repaint the back wheel to be a blue. I'd probably take the time to carve out those panel squares on the front to see if I can turn that into a storage space for a blaster, if not I can just always add detailing pieces.
See, at this point, im sad the Engine of Vengeance didn’t fund. Sure, i can get the Ramen Toys car, but I'd still be missing Robbie. And those three, all flaming, would be a display to be proud of. Now, how 'bout Midnight Sons Blaze, Vengeance, Robbie, Spirit Rider, Phantom Rider...
I really wish that Hasbro would've given us a proper Skull-Cycle, or an all-red Hellfire motorcycle with Johnny Blaze back when he came out. The figure was given the blue highlights and such on his jacket and pants, which is accurate to his 70s and 80s appearances, but the motorcycle (reuse aside) is more of a modern, post-Danny Ketch Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider, where he started riding regular motorcycles with flaming wheels, à la the Nicolas Cage films, and wearing Danny Ketch-esque attire. The skull accessory that came with the motorcycle was also taken from an obscure piece of alternate cover or poster artwork from like 2005 that takes quite a bit of Googling to find images of. Needless to say, so many odd decisions were made with the Johnny Blaze release.
I don't know why, but when you were pointing with the screwdriver I was kinda hoping for a skit where you're a German professor pointing out, "Zeh peg mount goes in. Zeh peg mount goes out."
I got this, but I didn't like how the head is just the same as Johnny Blaze pretty much, just a bit bigger, I wanted to differentiate it more. I took the alternate head that came with the Walgreens Sentry figure, removed most of the blonde hair paint, but dry brushed some yellow over that part, did some hollowing out of that hairpiece and glued that onto the Danny Ketch skull, just so he's more distinct from Johnny
Was the Ghost Riders from Hasbro that were both original and blue flames Danny Ketch? If so I might consider getting this just for the hell cycle and have another Ghost Rider as a bonus.
Robo, did you notice that Hasbro sculpted the bulge of a wallet in his back pocket? 6:58 Danny is making sure he doesn't get arrested for driving without a license!
I always regarded Danny Ketch's version of Ghost Rider as a big personal project of some bigwig at Marvel at the time, as in the first year of the character's publication he's having crossover stories with all the big names of the time, appearing on Spider Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Wolverine, etc, books, which seems to be as someone having a vested interest in turning what had been a pretty tertiary character into a big time one. Not criticizing it, just pointing out something I think about.
It was the 1990s. Dark and edgy was the flavor of the decade. To me it seemed like Midnight Sons was Marvel's attempted answer to Spawn. Which makes sense. They took characters like Ghost Rider, Blade and Morbius and gave them darker more mature stories. They were fighting demons and monsters like they should be and not crap like circus performers and Stilt Man. I appreciated it as a young adult.
@@MDestron2282 And like 99% of all things superhero comicbook stuff, it aged like sour milk. I also don't see how that relates with my point, which basically was, someone big at Marvel was a big fan of Ghost Rider, and they had the influence to not only bring him pack, repackaged, but also to have him crossover with most of their big titles, hoping the readership would bite... but Ketch's title lasted 8 years to Blaze's 10, ending in cancelation without a proper conclusion, and it still remained a tertiary character.
Absolutely essential character for me In the UK he costs £61. The bike could be designed like G I Joe. A functional motor bike toy. Head Sculpt is 9 years old. Hardly any paint. However he looks great on the shelf and I m happy to have it. My personal opinion is that they definitely tried to make the set inexpensive. 40 dollars is really good. It's also reasonable because the bike has limitations. I hope they don't slash the price here because I LL be annoyed I didn't wait. However I think if they didn't deliver with GR then a lot of people would have potentially walked away from ML. Also Lilith is going to look great with GR but she NEEDS accessories. I'm quite annoyed that they shafted a long awaited character. Sorry to rant but I have thought about this a lot. I think he's fair in value. He is the only GR I'll ever need I ve been blasting Henry Rollins cover of Ghost Rider. So great 🤘🤘

Been waiting for Danny Ketch for a long time, but I don't like the proportions and the skull on this one. I hope Marvel Select make a more decent one in the future.
I think all the Blaze figures are the same as the two I compared in this video, and I did say the head and neck is reuse, but the rest is obviously different.
I really wanted to like this one but to me the bike looks to short, like that front wheel should be pulled out a bit farther from the frame of the bike. Disappointing pass for me

I was picking up what robo was putting down and when i got into comics as a teen that Ghost Rider run was seminal. So glad to finally have this fig on my shelves. Really came out great.
We need a Danny Ketch era Johnny Blaze. The one with the ponytail, trench coat, and hellfire shotty!
Definitely!! Wearing his old blue uniform inside his trench coat
Then that can be reused as a trenchcoat Nomad with baby Bucky!

Not a Ghost Rider fan by any means, but when I saw this, I immediately pre-ordered. Just an incredibly badass display piece for a desk or shelf.
The flame effects are what sold me, also true statement of studio series 86 prime.
"If I hadn't bought it at all I would have saved more money..." This is the most relatable thing I've heard all year hahaha
I missed the Target sale, but I'm hoping he'll be marked down again soon! Great review, as always!
