Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This song was performed in Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland...
... Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

Following the success of Beste Zangers show, Floor performed a series of solo concerts in the Netherlands in early 2020 with songs from her entire career (After Forever, Revamp, Northward, Nightwish, Beste Zangers) following that the last and the largest concert, at AFAS Amsterdam, to be professionally recorded and broadcast online, with the support of a crowdfunding campaign. After several rescheduling, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the concert took place at the beginning of September 2021 in 3 consecutive days. I only studied German very briefly many years ago so i couldn't catch much of your speech but, i could see from your physical reactions that you both enjoyed this. Nightwish are a wonderful band with very diverse music and i hope you check out more as per Gabriel's advice.
Hallo östliche Nachbarn. Nice reaction. Das ganze Konzert in Wacken (2013) von Nightwish ist großartig. Die Leistung der Sängerin Floor Jansen war ausgezeichnet. Sie ist so gut. Jeden Dienstag (drei weitere Folgen) singt Floor bei 'Sing meinen Song' (Vox) auch auf Deutsch. Das macht sie gut. Tolle Auftritte wie Unikat (Spd), Zu schnell Vorbei (Clueso) und Freude (Elif). Floor übersetzt diese Lieder to metal Tipp: Folge ihr in Nightwish und Solo Es wird dein Leben bereichern Grüße aus den Niederlanden.
I would especially recommend the song Unikat, after some search you can find the version including video... that song was excellent. Floor is an empath, and it shows in this song... she can deliver so much emotion!
Gabriel hat unter seinem Willkommensgruß in seinem ersten Kommentar ne geile Liste. Geht die einfach Stück für Stück durch. Nightwish ist für mich die einzige Band, bei der mir ausnahmslos jedes Lied gefällt. Das gibt es sonst nirgends bei mir.

Floor Jansen, hat nicht nur eine ganz kraftige Stimme sondern auch eine sehr sensitive Stimme. Sie schaft das Alles!
Sie hat mehere Jahre Musik studiert, Rock sowie Oper und Musik Theater.
Es gibt genügend zu sehen von Nightwish und Floor, warte auf Gabriel Bardac, er hat viele Tipps.
Bin etwas eifersüchtig denn Floor is jeweils auf vOX zu sehen in der Reihe 'Sing Meinen Song' und das is nur innerhalb Deutschland zu streamen.
Oh, bitte keine Vergleich zwischen Amy Lee (Evanescence) und Floor ;-)

Floor Jansen not only has a very powerful voice, she can be real soft and sensitive too.
She went to the Rock Academy Tilburg and got some more training in Opera and Musical Theatre.
There's enough to see from Nightwish and Floor, just wait for Gabriel Bardac's reaction. He has a lot of tips and some backgrounds.
I'm a little jealous because Floor is participating in 'Sing Meinen Song' and those episodes are only streamed in Germany.
Oh, and please don't compare Floor with Amy Lee (Evanescence) ;-)

Meddl, Leude! Ein deutschsprachiger Reaktionskanal für Metal, cool. Das ist definitiv Floors bester Auftritt. Die hohe Note am Schluss packt mich jedesmal. War 2013 auch live dabei. Unvergesslich. Wenn man bedenkt das sie zu der Zeit kurz zuvor Anette abgelöst hat umso beeindruckender.

Ich muss dezent widersprechen. Es gab und gibt zu viele brillante Auftritte von Floor, um einen als "Besten" herausheben zu können. So gut das Wacken-Konzert auch war, aber es gab seitdem schon noch weitere herausragende Shows.

@@s.grangepeter5886 Ich habe bestimmt dutzende Auftritte von ihr nach dem Wacken Konzert angesehen. Meiner Meinung nach ist Ghost Love Score ihr bester live Auftritt mit Nightwish. 'The Poet and the Pendelum Wembley' und 'How's the heart acoustic' kommen vielleicht ran. ^^

Ich hab nightwish gehört als das Album once rauskam. Ich lernte damals als Jugendlicher Gitarre und fänds schon geil. Als dann Tarja raus musste konnte ich das nimmer hören. Annette olzen war halt so gar nicht meins. Sie ist super cool. Aber der gesang war halt nicht meins.
Und irgendwann 2013 als das Wacken Konzert Grad auf UA-cam erschien, wurde es mir Mal angezeigt. Dachte mir, die Sängerin sieht wieder neu aus. Kannte Floor bis dahin nicht. Der Song war auf dem once Album der geilste. Und als ich dann das hier von Floor gesehen habe, war ich wieder sowas von dabei. Alter. N 37jähriger Typ der wie n kleines fangirl vorne an der Bühne steht 🤣🤣🤣
Ihr müsst echt die ganze Palette durch reacten. Das ist einfach ne Hammer geile Band. Und immer wenn du denkst, "das ist der geilste Song ever" setzen die noch einen drauf. Auch das gesamte aktuelle Album ist unfassbar genial.
Also ich freu mich auf mehr Videos mit euch. Und am 5. Dezember treffen wir uns vorn an der Bühne. Da kommen die nämlich nach München.👍👍👍😁

Die Performance war genial damals, werd ich nie vergessen, war besser als jedes Setting davor oder danach das ich von NW erleben durfte.( Anette hab ich mir gespart)
Tolles recap, die Lady hat es offensichtlich und authentisch genossen! Natürlich ist das in der Post-product resampelt worden, aber ich kann nur sagen, es hat sich noch geiler angefühlt, als es das Video hergibt. absolut wahnsinn. Gluten tag und herzlicht willkommen. My German is bad enough (my 4th language, learned 30 years ago) to just get the gist of what you are saying, and not nearly enough to reply to you. Regardless my difficulties, I really liked your reaction, good smiles at times and a feeling of general appreciation (absolutely not saying I would criticize you if you had disliked it). This can be a bit of a disjointed song on the first listen, but it grew on me to the point I think this is one of the top songs by the band.
PS. If it isn't too much bother, would you consider adding closed captions to your next one? The wording doesn't have to be exactly right, but that would act at least as a crutch for us with an age-brought wobbly understanding of German.

Als erstes wird gern "Holy War" vorgschlagen, das ist pure Power Metal, wenns bissel mehr episch sein soll, schaut euch "Edge of the World" and oder auch "Swan Song mit Chopin Intro" wenn ihr sehen wollt wie klassisches Piano und Metal zusammenpassen. Und wie fantastisch die eine Gitarristin auch noch am Piano ist.

Eine kleine Symphonic Metal Historie: 1996 wird mit Theli aus der Death Metal Band Therion die erste Symphonic Metal Band. Ihre Musik ist aber eher etwas für Nerds.
Im selben Jahr entstehen die beiden Pole die bis heute die Szene bestimmen: Zum einen die poppige Variante mit der niederländischen Band Within Temptation. Seit ihrem Durchbruch 2000 sind sie kontinuierlich in den Charts:

Zum anderen Nightwish. Da ihre Sängerin später Opernsängerin werden will weigert sie sich etwas anderes zu singen. Wegen ihrer Sturheit wird der Operngesang im Metal etabliert. Und führt später zu ihrem Rauswurf. 1998 findet die Band ihre Richtung und ist seitdem Vorbild für viele andere. Nachdem dramatischen Rauswurf ihrer zweiten Sängerin finden sie 2012 ihre Ideale Sängerin, musikalisch und persönlich. Folge einfach Gabriels Liste.
Der noch aktuelle heiße Sch… ist Visions of Atlantis, die sich an Nightwish orientieren und Sänger und Sängerin haben:

Worauf gerade alle warten ist Delain. Sie sind die poppige Variante. Die Band bestand praktisch nur aus dem Keyboarder und der Sängerin aus Holland. Mir ging's bei Nightwish "The Poet and the Pendulum", live aus Wembley, ebenso. Hab mir das Lied danach 15x in Folge angehört. Zum Glück war Freitag abend - denn das Lied ist sogar 14 min lang! Wobei Lied die falsche Vokabel ist. Musikalisches Werk in 5 Akten ist besser. Floor's Stimme im 3. Akt hat mir Gänsehaut pur gegeben, Wiederholung im 5.Akt und sie gab sogar noch eins drauf...will aber nicht zu viel verraten. Auf den YT-channel von Nightwish gibt's die Show mit Untertiteln.
Ansonsten ist das gesamte Wacken Konzert 2013, das auch als DVD veröffentlicht wurde, für mich eines der besten Konzerte aller Zeiten, so wie Rammstein 2005 in Nimes. Wenn's für sowas eine "Hall of Fame" gäbe, wär es mit Sicherheit dabei. Also hört euch die Lieder davon ruhig einmal an. Ich bin sicher unser Boarischer Bua findet noch mehr Lieder, die ihm gefallen. Und nochwas: Nightwish hat von allen Metal Bands nicht ohne Grund mit den höchsten Anteil an weiblichen Fans. Also das Madl mitnehma.

Sehr gute Einstellung, nur das zu hören was einem gefällt. Jede Band hat auch Songs, die einem nicht gefallen. Hatte schon oft heftige Diskussionen mit Hardcore Fans, die ihre Band mit zunehmender Agression verteidigt haben z. B. das Schwarze Album von Metallica, war die erste CD, die ich gekauft habe und war maßlos enttäuscht. Aber wehe du erzählst einem Metallica Fan, das das neue Album schei.ße ist, das gab dann fast ne Schlägerei. 😄
Eine Liste mit Vorschlägen Fang ich lieber nicht an, die wird endlos und sind dann auch meist eher unbekannt und bringen auch kaum Aufrufe und Klicks. 🙂

Uh, bitte Floor Jansen nicht mit Ami Lee von Evanescence vergleichen, sonst gibt's Ärger mit der Nightwish Army. Gerade die amerikanischen Reaction Channels machen gerne diesen Fehler mangels vergleichbarer Musik aus den USA. 😄
Oh ja, ganz übel. Das ist immer wenn die Leute noch nie von anderen Bands mit weiblichen Sängern gehört haben anscheinend. Wobei ich meine sollten Amerikaner nicht zumindest Ann Wilson / Heart kennen ? Dann gab es noch Lana Lane die eigentlich son bissel das Bindeglied für mich war zwischen Heart und dann eben Nightwish, Within Temptation. Ist sogar ne Amerikanerin, aber glaube die kennt da auch keiner und sie hatte mehr Erfolg in Japan.
Aber ersthaft, der Vergleich ist irgendwie, um mal echt bissel zu übertreiben, wenn man Whitney Houston das erstemal hört als Deutscher und dann sagt : Wow die is ja wie Helene Fischer 😄😂
@@beldin2987 Bei Whitney Houston werd ich getriggert, hab mal Konzertaufbau gemacht, unter anderem für diese Diva in Coburg. Wie sie angekommen ist, mussten ALLE, auch die Kanadier, die die gesamte Welttournee mit ihr gemacht haben, ins Catering Zelt, sie wollte niemanden der dort arbeitenden sehen (oder sollten wir sie nicht ungeschminkt sehen?🤔). Hab auch zweimal den Musikantenstadl aufgebaut, in München und Berlin, sämtliche "Prominente" dort waren völlig bodenständig und.hatten keinerlei Starallüren, ob die Helene Fischer in der Zeit auch aufgeteten ist, weiß ich aber nicht mehr. 😄

Das würde Ihnen sowohl musikalisch als auch menschlich absolut nicht gerecht.
Jede hat ihr Bestes gegeben oder gibt derzeit.
