Tbh this is the only travel channel I watch, it's solo travel or no travel for me 😂 I tried a few but kept missing the commentary. Solo does it like no other.
Always love to see this when STJ leaves a kind note about the sudden start of some music such as at 12:24 in this video. That’s real attention to detail!
That looked like a very comfortable train, and it was very quiet, despite being full. I have to admit a fascination with the ekiben, and wish I could try them. Thanks for taking us along again.
When you said you were feeling sleepy so was I, when you brought the food out I began to feel hungry, I think I’ll have to regulate my viewing on you tube 😅
Nikko is pretty awesome to visit (three times myself). Interesting that both Asakusa and Nikko have major, and famous shrines. Thank you for showing us this new train! If I come back to Japan I'd love to take it.
Seeing the inari with different toppings gives me an idea to make that for myself. In the UK inari are usually just filled with plain sushi rice and put in mixed sets with maki and uramaki rolls. I like inari because they're easy to make at home, though you have to be gentle with the tofu pockets
❤ the new design of the train.Looks like you weren't the only vlogger ,in the compartment section of the train. I to would fall asleep on the train ,when the seats are that comfy.👋💕🇦🇺
Just what I need to get rid of the crazy stuff in the USA thanks, my friend amazing Absolutely amazing. Be safe, much love, please have fun for me, and you ❤❤
Ah, beautiful Nikko... going all the way there and not enjoying it even for a bit makes me a little sad 🙂 . The Nikko Inari sushi ekiben looked pretty good. 🚞🙏
Great videos. I was so close to visiting and working in Japan at one point myself. I had experience with Motion Capture and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit Japan.
I am amazed that the railway companies have the capacity to include special extra trains. Also the funds to buy the new trains or have them converted from a different use. I do not like the restricted view caused by the shape of the camparment window.. A hexagon is a waste of space. Once again I find your ekiben interesting.
It's always Ekiben time for you! I'll be in Hachioji next week, so if you want to convince me about Japanese short haul cruises, Please let me know. No ferries, but plenty of discussion welcome.
That's a result of Japan's narrow railway gauge (the distance between the tracks). The rails are only 75% as wide as standard gauge. This means the whole train is narrower, and there's more of a lever effect from the center of gravity to the wheels, so the train is "tippier". This also means the top speed is limited (typically 100 MPH vs 125 MPH conventional trains on the Northeast Corridor in the US, and 150 MPH for Acela Express) and you can't fit any cargo reasonably on it (Japan has the lowest percent of freight by rail in any developed country; this is the reason for all the ferries you see on this channel).
It's odd to have a smiling bull on the bento box wrapper. I'm sure it was anything but happy on the way to becoming a bento. The inarizushi looks delicious...
I think the pair of legs ahead of you in the next compartment was also video recording the compartment and needed to prop open the door. Auto-close is so funny to me.
Back in 2019 I visited Nikko. Wanted to use Tobu but tracks were damaged by Typhoon! Had to take JR instead...sigh. Some of the walking trails in OkuNikko also couldn't be accessed....maybe it's time to go again!
Now you got me wondering if that little "craft beer stand Murmur" is still there or not. It was a highlight of my last trip to Nikko. The existence of the train means I will never need to transfer in Utsunomiya again. I can't wait until I get my chance to ride.
Only downside with Japanese trains IMO is that they feel the need to play a whole symphony in 5 acts, just to make a quick, short announcement about something or wish passengers welcome on board. With all that noise playing like the sunflower song every few minutes, I'd lose my mind if riding that train 😳
My favorite part of STJ videos is waiting to see if the "!!" appear during eating segments to signal something exceptional. 😂
Totally.
Or the rare !!!
Perhaps the number of ! should vary depending how good it is ? :)
And the shaking motion. So nice videos calming me down.
I love the description of the food so much! But I gotta know if that pillow is medium hard or medium soft. 😂 I adore this channel ❤
Even the standard seats have so much leg room in front of them. That's super nice.
Really beautiful train. Catchy music, but nothing can compare to the Sunflower song. 🌻
🎵🌻 Sunflower , Sunflower 🌻🎵
😊😊😊😊 *Sunflower, Sunflower *🎉 🎉🎉🎉
The deep fried beef topping sandwich looks tasty.
Tbh this is the only travel channel I watch, it's solo travel or no travel for me 😂 I tried a few but kept missing the commentary. Solo does it like no other.
omg the train interior design is so beautiful
Agree, but I think traditional big rectangle windows with shades would have been a better choice for the suite.
Always love to see this when STJ leaves a kind note about the sudden start of some music such as at 12:24 in this video. That’s real attention to detail!
I ❤ inari... 😊
Noticed the Asahi headquaters near the river after leaving Asakusa. Funny how Japanese industrial design turns everything into a modern hotel lobby. 😂
We in The USA could learn lots from Japan & Korea on their train system. It’s amazing!
👍😊🤔. Thank you for sharing. Blessings from Texas, USA. 👍👍
That looked like a very comfortable train, and it was very quiet, despite being full. I have to admit a fascination with the ekiben, and wish I could try them. Thanks for taking us along again.
Stunning! Japan continues to lead the world in train travel.
Definitely a very good looking train and quiet unique with the window design, thank you for sharing your journey
When you said you were feeling sleepy so was I, when you brought the food out I began to feel hungry, I think I’ll have to regulate my viewing on you tube 😅
That train looked amazing! And do take us along if you go back there, please, I would love to see why it is a popular tourist destination
Nikko is the shrine of Tokugawa Ieyasu and his burial site.
Thankyou for always travelling and eating 🤘🥰🤘🇦🇺💜🇯🇵
I appreciate this journey so much and it's always a pleasure to experience your work on UA-cam!
I wish trains were less expensive in America, costs almost double what a plane ticket does these days.
That is a tight squeeze
I love your videos especially because in every circumstance you always find the positive side
STJ, Thank you very much!
You are the most respectful traveler and it is so appreciated.
Man. Ekiben are such great value. We really need to figure out how to do food like that in the US
Nikko is pretty awesome to visit (three times myself). Interesting that both Asakusa and Nikko have major, and famous shrines. Thank you for showing us this new train! If I come back to Japan I'd love to take it.
online reservation are extremely complicated .maybe you should do a video about that one lol
Another beautiful train of Japan 👏🤩💕
Seeing the inari with different toppings gives me an idea to make that for myself. In the UK inari are usually just filled with plain sushi rice and put in mixed sets with maki and uramaki rolls.
I like inari because they're easy to make at home, though you have to be gentle with the tofu pockets
This new express train 🚆 looks very futuristic! 👍👍👍👍
very nice and lots of legroom.
I will be doing this trip in just over 2 weeks from now! Thank you for sharing.
Japan has everyone so beautiful and unique trains 👍
Nikko is on my list of places to visit in November while I'm in Japan.
It’s a good place to go. One of the many things to see is the famous carving of the three wise monkeys.
I love how you describe all the things your eating
❤ the new design of the train.Looks like you weren't the only vlogger ,in the compartment section of the train. I to would fall asleep on the train ,when the seats are that comfy.👋💕🇦🇺
I love these videos.
Just what I need to get rid of the crazy stuff in the USA thanks, my friend amazing Absolutely amazing. Be safe, much love, please have fun for me, and you ❤❤
Please explain the luggage store next time. Were they coded cables !
トラベル系では、そろさんの動画がupされるのが一番楽しみです。
Greetings from Toronto, Canada.
Ah, beautiful Nikko... going all the way there and not enjoying it even for a bit makes me a little sad 🙂 . The Nikko Inari sushi ekiben looked pretty good. 🚞🙏
Beautiful train! ❤️👍🏻
Sunflower music is better! Sunflower, Sunflower!
😂😂😂
its just so peaceful to watch your vids.
I want to ride one so bad but I doubt I will ever get the chance to so thank you for sharing ♡
SpaceX! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

What a lovely train! And I'm so glad there was a happy !!
That inarizushi set looked so good! Inspiring me to hunt down some variety inari or maybe resort to making my own.
Wow, looks like a wonderful train! I hope I get to ride it!
🚅🚄🚋🚊🚆
Thank you for the great video 😊**Edit: Also, I see you Nico 💮
A nice day break! 👌🏼
Is this a brand new service? It looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing!!
I love the design of this train!
Another fantastic video!
Shout out from pittsburgh pennsylvania
Its been awhile but glad to check this out , lots to catch up on from STJ
I like the view from the window on a train journey. I wouldn't be happy paying more for a compartment, and getting the reduced window size.
Amazing train
The self-heating ekiben are more appealing to me. If the train has a microwave, then I would get the refrigerated ekiben...especially, if it's beef.
I am amazed that the railway companies have the capacity to include special extra trains. Also the funds to buy the new trains or have them converted from a different use. I do not like the restricted view caused by the shape of the camparment window.. A hexagon is a waste of space. Once again I find your ekiben interesting.
awesome new upload
Another awesome video 😊
It's always Ekiben time for you! I'll be in Hachioji next week, so if you want to convince me about Japanese short haul cruises, Please let me know. No ferries, but plenty of discussion welcome.
Cute train, but I was surprised that it was shakey. The compartment would be great if you travel with little kids, especially on the way back.
Kids ruin everything no need for them
That's a result of Japan's narrow railway gauge (the distance between the tracks). The rails are only 75% as wide as standard gauge. Video is good and beautiful I like it. Success forever.
What a beautiful train. Thank you!
Very nice. Thank you.
It's odd to have a smiling bull on the bento box wrapper. I'm sure it was anything but happy on the way to becoming a bento. The inarizushi looks delicious...
I can't help but think of SpaceX when I see Spacia X.
Great train, very comfy but windows are a little odd 😊 Food looked good through
Great trip, finally you get this viral train.
Hexagons are the bestagons!
I think I would enjoy a regular seat more myself, that inari looked great
I like this train and loved the journey in different seating. Maybe next time you will be able to stay a bit longer in Tobu-nikko and relax.
The food looks good!
*JUMPS IN THE STRETCHED OUT PART OF THE COUCH* MINE! *HISSES*
This is like a fantasy train line. I want to ride it. But 1.5hrs is not enough! I need time for 2 or maybe 3 bento boxes :)
Spacia X needs a theme song...like Sunflower :)
I was thinking the same thing too😂
I think the pair of legs ahead of you in the next compartment was also video recording the compartment and needed to prop open the door. Auto-close is so funny to me.
Great video and music
Beautiful
This must be the best job in the world.
Back in 2019 I visited Nikko. Wanted to use Tobu but tracks were damaged by Typhoon! Had to take JR instead...sigh. Some of the walking trails in OkuNikko also couldn't be accessed....maybe it's time to go again!
Inari looked delicious. Is that train carpeted? Not easy to clean spills on carpet
"Heater? I don't need it. I'm already hot" I choked lmao
I don't know. That music is cute, but I don't think it has anything on Sunflower ;)
Love your vids. Looks like there is a STJ wannabe in UA-cam land: Solo Travel Journals. Thought it was a new channel by you, but I don't think so.
Greetings from Romania and Japan ❤
So regarding the compartment cost, if you have a group of 4, do you split the 6000 yen between each person or is it 6000 yen each?
The former.
No food available on the train?
Beautiful train. Inexpensive fare, but if so hard to reserve, why were there so many empty seats?
its good that we have a change from sunflower
Now you got me wondering if that little "craft beer stand Murmur" is still there or not. It was a highlight of my last trip to Nikko.
The existence of the train means I will never need to transfer in Utsunomiya again. I can't wait until I get my chance to ride.
Why are ekiben more expensive than regular bento? Is it only because they are sold at the stations? Or are the food items better quality?
I want to be there!🥰
Only downside with Japanese trains IMO is that they feel the need to play a whole symphony in 5 acts, just to make a quick, short announcement about something or wish passengers welcome on board. With all that noise playing like the sunflower song every few minutes, I'd lose my mind if riding that train 😳
Spacia X No.1 sounds like something an army would use against Godzilla
How far in advance can you reserve seat? And was the $64 compartment fare only for your private use? Could others have booked it and sat with you?
Heh...looks like the person in the next compartment along on the return trip was trying to record it for *their* channel... :-)
