When I first moved to the area I drove into ANF from the desert side for the first time. Strawberry peak has a sheer wall on its north side and immediately stuck out as a spectacular looking mountain. I also didn’t know anything about the trails yet or where to begin learning about them so I simply typed in “Angeles National Forest mountain with rock face” and found it through the image search! It was “my” first mountain here and I’ve done this hike more times than I can count.
Hi, we are from England and trying to hike as much as possible around the world. We are currently in Germany but want to come to America one day. You have given us inspiration. Thank you, we have liked and subbed
Hello and greetings from Germany ! I looked for some hikes in Las Vegas area and found your videos ! They have really good information and are really cool to watch. Time flies by... Enjoying it and found some different things like this one... Looking forward to fly in in may this year... !
Thank you so much for this excellent guide. I think I’ll try Echo Mountain, then Stoddard Peak, and then this will be my last “training peak” before Baden Powell. It’s been so helpful to watch your videos and line up a progression.
This was awesome to watch! Coming from the valley in CA, my hikes are totally different (and usually very dry 😂). Can’t wait to explore the rest of the states nature, you videos are awesome! :)
I went straight up the ridge to Mt. Lawlor and back down the other side to Lawlor saddle before continuing on to Strawberry Peak. There is a good reason you recommend skirting around it; it's steep! (But it was worth it).
Love your content! Really nice to see how much your channel has grown. Been following your channel ways back and of course your website is just awesome!
This was actually shot on the iPhone but moving back to a Sony - you just can't beat the color and sharpness of a big lens, although the iPhone is def respectable given it's small size
@Hikingguy got it. Thank you. And thank you so much for all these videos. They have been very helpful to me (and I'm sure for everyone else) I tore my pectoral tendon and been hiking almost every Saturday for 4 months while I've been recovering from my surgery. Thank you again. I am so so glad I found your channel.
The road to Redbox should be open, immediately after Redbox it may still be closed, there was a bunch of damage from the winter storms, the road to the observatory is still open as well

Your integration of aerial data and your video is much appreciated and well craft.

8:00 Hey, that’s the sign I recently made! Cool to see it in your video
Awesome thanks for making that! Very cool
I did this hike with one 8oz water bottle hike in the summer. I would recommend you bring more water
Did the class 3 route solo a few years ago it was fun but route finding was kinda tough.
Heel erg mooi Uitzicht heb je daar.
I love this hike!
The elevations of the San Gabes all changed in 1994, but the "latest" USGS maps are 1983 . Oh well, what are a couple of meters among friends 😁😉
New to your channel. Enjoying your detailed descriptions and information. Do you lead hikes?
Thank you and I don't do guided hikes anymore. Just don't have the bandwidth.
Very informative! thank you. But how can I use my annual pass for national parks to park here? do I have to check in somewhere first?
Yes USA parks passes work here
🔥🔥🔥🔥 I subbed ♥️
What time should I depart for the peak to catch the sunset ? Healthy guy. Early 40s. Exercise 5x per week
prob 2 hours before sunset
Wow beautiful footage! New camera? What kind are you using nowadays?

Beautiful place my friend, this looks gorgeous! You narrated this so professionally, bravo! 👌👌
All the other videos I’ve seen of this peak show steep actual rock climbing
That's the mountaineers route, not this route

Is the road to Redbox open now, last time I drove by it was closed?

It's open to Redbox
Where can you get the america the beautiful pass?
You can get it at REI (here but not always in stock - hikingguy.com/parkspass ) or from the USGS store - store.usgs.gov/recreational-passes
