conchal and penca were two of my favs. if u go down far enough at conchal, u can be totally alone with and overhanging tree. there a steep shoreline and floatable water right off shore. its a great vibe. and the water at penca stunning! gets hot af, less tree coverage

We have been swimming at all three. Montezuma has some spots with rough waves, but there are nearby coves along the coast that are good for swimming. Penca and Conchal have always been pretty calm when I was there, lots of swimming!
We love the footage and your take on all the places you discovered. We are hoping to move down there in a couple years. We love Montezuma from the footage we have seen, but seek more of a community vibe, vs just tourists. Did you check out Samara and its lovely beach? Also how did you all get around did you rent a car, or hire a driver?
We rented a car. I would actually say Montezuma has a pretty good community of both locals and some long term tourists. Then others on the weekend. We did not go to Samara. Most of the expats and people who move there stay on Montezuma
