- Short documentary film “Our land - Nikikéyah” reveals the current situation of Navajo Nation people who live in Black Mesa Resistance Camp (Arizona) and refused to relocate because of the The 1974 Navajo-Hopi Settlement Act. The story is told through Elder Gelena and her daughters who live under constant pressure to relocate. Even with issues such as access to water, due to Peabody draining the natural reservoir, no electricity, no pavement roads, their and other families refuse to give up their land.

As a foreigner currently living in the Pacific Northwest, whenever I see a lush meadow, a creek, or a glacier lake, I always think, the native tribes used to forage or fish here hundreds of years ago, but where are they now. I believe many of the tribes here are still on their homeland but get squeezed into isolated small patches out of nowhere. I visited near reservations, but mostly see white people running all sorts of businesses. I've met people with indigenous heritage in the cities but never got to see the real life within. These videos about indigenous culture and life on reservations are very educational and sad.

I'm Cree, every name of every city and province, is a Cree word...to speak Canadian, is to speak First Nations, Not English...all these immigrants came to our land and think they speak Canadian, Canada means land in Cree...so how do all these immigrants come here, and call themselves CANADIAN?!?!
