Thanks for sharing. I'm looking into this helmet and being able to change out the spoiler for a smaller one is really appealing. From all the literature I've read online it never mentioned that so I'm happy you brought it up.
Best geeking out over a new lid EVER - the squeal had me grinning ear to ear !!!! Always informational - always a hoot !!!!!
lol...Thanks Lisa!!! You're the best!
Damn, that's a nice looking lid !!!
Thanks for the tour. I really like the foil for running air over the hump. Sweet
Hey Skip! Thanks for watching and I am sorry I didn't see your comment. It's great a helmet and glad you enjoyed.
thanks for all ur explanations about this helmet . i want to buy one asap now🔥👍❤
Very excited about this helmet. I’ve been looking at something different. Had ARAIs for years, .. after this vid I think I’m going with this.. hi from Australia
Thanks for watching and sorry for late reply!
Very nice! I just bought the X-803 RS ULTRA CARBON WHEELIE in Black / Green for $580 it was the last one.
Great video. I've just crushed my x803 (grass+sidestand) so was looking for a replacement. This answered all of my questions and it's clearly for a few more tricks than the standard x803 like the swappable foils and adjustable liner. It's also WAY cheaper than comparable lids here in NZ. Looks like i know what to order!
Fantastic! Sorry to hear about you brain bucket. I think you will be mightily impressed with the RS. And as you said so economical for how much helmet you get. LOVE NZ. Hope you are finally lightening up on the draconian restrictions. Ride safe. Thanks for watching.
@@thecouchtrip1251the restrictions are all good now... looking forward to packed Rugby stadiums again this weekend.
Unfortunately I'll have to wait longer for the helmet to arrive😩
Sold. Just about to order exact same helmet 👍🏴🇬🇧
Ordered after watching this 10 times 😎
nice! Enjoy! Thanks for watching
if its good enough for the isle of man.. its good enough for me. great detailed review.
Thanks for watching. Yeah many MotoGp and Moto2/3 guys wear them.
Do you know if this helmet has an FIA rating? I want to use it for a track day here in the states but looks like I might have to buy a new one because it’s not snell or DOT 😢
Thanks bro, soy de Perú gracias
Great unboxing / review. Like you I’m a fan of the 803 Ultra Carbon range and have also now got an expired lid so this new RS spec variant is on my must get list. I have a question re sizing. How did you find it compared to your 802r and rr? I have heard they run slightly small. I’m an M in my current Arai RX-7 so thinking M for the RS. What is your experience re size and fit? Thx 🙏🏻
999Rabs Thanks for watching and the comment!
To be fair, I’ve yet to wear this all day long on track to give you an answer based on experience. But having dug out my 802RR from last season I can tell you right off the bat there’s more space around the mouth which increases the comfort.
My R and RR were very snug. Not uncomfortable, but very little if any excess room. This brand and this model series is bare bones and no nonsense so don’t expect low noise levels or high levels of cushion.
Also, I have not owned an Arai or worn one in at least a decade so I probably can’t give you a comparison based on how far the technology has come.
So I would say if you have never owned an X Lite before definitely expect a more snug and slightly smaller fit.
Comparing the 803 to the previous models mentioned I would say the fit is a little bit more generous but still spot on sizing in comparison to the 802R the 802RR. I’ve always been a 56 cm in this brand and that didn’t change when I moved up to the 803. Hope this helps and thanks again for watching!
Great video 👍🏻 am thinking of buying this beauty but would like to know if there is space to fit Bluetooth intercom system, speakers cutouts ? Thanks
Sorry for late reply but I believe the 903 is better suited for coms. 803s are without the earholes and track ready
Was the dark smoke visor included or extra?
This helmet looks so good but I wish it had better noise reduction and and actually Snell or ECE rating...
Edit: Apparently they are ECE rated in Europe but Nolan group didn't pay for the certification for the US helmets.
Nice and informative video. What's the head shape like for this helmet? My head is slightly on the round side so I'm wondering if it'll fit me well. Cheers.
3 shells sizes but the shape I believe is considered the oblong oval. Not nearly as round as say an Arai. Thanks for the comment and let me know how your helmet stands up to the rigors of real riding! Look forward to hearing more!
Do you know if cheek pads sold in Xlite USA web site will fit an X803 RS like yours? I need 27 mm
Hi, how does this compare fit wise to the x803 carbon puro?
How you tried the AGV Pista? And if so, how does it compare to this one, I love the moto GP look and feel of the pista and this helmet. Great video man
Thanks for the great feedback Kevin. I haven't tried a Pista in several years but I always found their helmets to be quite bulky on my pinhead. I am a 56cm. The XLite rivals the technology for 1/3 of the price. The shape of it as mentioned is a slightly elongated oval so not so round or wide which is perfect for me. I know many people who love the AGV but for me it is about 100g heavier and just feels bulky. GREAT helmet though and see why people like it. Thanks again for watching!
Very informative
Cheers Leo!
Yo Leo! Gary Snyder here. Haven’t heard your name in a long time. gcsman@gmail. Give me a shout
It's absolutely true. Nolan/X-lite is not very well known here in beautiful Canada or US. I use to ride in Nolan back in Europe and have very positive experience.
#1 How's the fit? Do you round-head Arai guy? )) or Shoe RF1200?
#2 Can you give me an idea what did you try before 803?
#3 How noisy it is? do you feel Ears Ring after a couple hours of ride?
p.s. Hey, I agree AGV is pretty bulky )) but aerodynamic of my Corsa RR is absolutely fantastic.
I have never liked Arai much and only every owned 1 Shoei. Years ago. The Xlite comes in a round oval, a mix between a round and oval. Before the 803RS I had been wearing the XLite 802R and then the 802RR for the last 4+ years. I am a huge believer in the brand. Unfortunately I cannot give much response on noise as I only wear mine for racing and track riding. So I have earplugs and frankly don't pay the least attention to noise on track. I think it would be considered noisy as it is track specific and very light. They make some touring versions called the 903, I believe. Hope this helps. Thanks very much watching
@@thecouchtrip1251 Thanks!
How does it fit, true to size? Or runs a little big or small? Thank you!
Doesnit have pockets in the helmet for speakers?
Do you have any creaking issues with the helmet when putting it on or taking it off, or just handling it in general, especially with the larger foil installed? I've owned the X-803 RS for about 5 months now and mine has some pretty serious creaking noises when stretching the opening getting it on and off. Kind of making me question the longevity of it as none of my previous helmets (Bell, Arai, AGV) have ever made such noises.
Hello! I haven't noticed but let me explain. I only use my helmet for racing and track days. When I use it I already have my earplugs in and bikes are noisily revving all around me. You have piqued my curiosity though and I will check it today when I go out to the garage. My previous 2 models X-802RRs lasted 5 years and only stopped wearing them because the padding was losing some cushion and they do not allow you to use a helmet over 5 years old to race. Hope this helps and hope your helmet remains durable. Thanks for watching!
I have a 54.5cm head, so based off of x lites sizing chart I was thinking XS, but some other websites say small for the same helmet. Do you think I should go with an XS? Btw this is my first helmet so i'm relatively new with all this...
How do you remove the cheek pads. Nice helmet but the pads make it too tight
How to remove the plastic from behind
I’ve never heard of this brand of helmet until now. I have been wearing AGV Pistas and Shoei X-14s. Does this compare to them?
I want to know the same thing
The Xlite 803 is in a league of its own. Best helmet you can wear track or aggressive street.
Sorry for the late reply Eric..some of my notifications have not been reaching me. It's an Italian brand made by parent company Nolan and many Motogp and WSBK racers wear them. I think it is much lighter than the aforementioned brands. This model is track specific so it won't be quiet for road use. It is functional, lightweight and protects your noggin.I have never like AGV as they don't fit me well and I feel they are excessively bulky. But that is just me
Does the visor lock when you close it .
Mine doesn’t completely close , there’s a small 1/8 inch gap on the bottom .
Nice 👍 video ..
Yep..snaps shut. Would be no bueno if it flew open racing on track. You have a defect with the seal or mechanism. I'd return it.
How does it fit compared to AGV/SHOEI? I wear medium on those and I would like to get one of these. Obviously if you have worn those.
I swapped from a Shoei Xr1100 57 and am the same size (M) in this. I thought i was a size down but i was wrong (took months to get it to fit right)
Nolan needs to hurry the hell up and get this thing DOT-rated and sold in the US
lol...yeah I run them at the track and nobody knows differently. If Motogp guys wear them that's good enough for me
How was the shipping from motocard?
Does speakers fit in this helmet?
Just purchased mine from Chrome burner in Holland EU, $559 = £430 bargain with exactly what you had in the box, went with the haz mat yellow trim 👍
Kaleidoscopic! You’re gonna love it! Enjoy.
Awesome video! Would this helmet be the lightest Sportsbike helmet 2020?
Thanks Chucky! I certainly haven't scoured the web for all around lightest helmet figures but at 1300+ grams it certainly puts it as a leader in the lightest lid competition. I love this brand and cannot imagine wearing anything else. Waiting for a company to change my mind! Thanks for watching!
Scorpion EXO-R1 Carbon is 1200 g. Probably the lightest sport bike helmet out there.
How's the sizing compared to Shoei?
I usually wear Large in them, and it fits like glove with my Shoei x-14
I haven't owned a Shoei for years. I think the RF 1200 was the last one I owned. lol. So I couldn't make an adequate comparo for you. But XLite is a very svelte no nonsense track dedicated helmet, or at least this version is. Very minimal, cut in at the nape of the neck for full range of motion for looking ahead at your corner exit on track and excellent padding geared to comfort not soundproofing. This helmet is NOT a touring or road helmet. Sound proofing is not its forte. Protection, lightness and race readiness is its focus.
I got the Ducati version
What do you think which helmet is better overall. I'm due to buy a new helmet but confused which to buy.
Your thoughts?
Bell race Pro 4k Carbon or X 803 rs ultra Carbon
Another commenter said they had the Bell and enjoyed it but honestly I have never owned a Bell. The few I tried on were much more bulky and seemed to be less svelte. Sort of the American vs. Euro thing. X-lite is an oblong oval and sleeker in my opinion. That said I don't have enough experience with the Bell to say go one way or the other. I think fitment and styling cues, in my case, led me to choose X-Lite over all else.
Thanks so much for your views. Much appreciate it. I'm very similar to you I don't like bulky helmets
Thanks again
How is the frontal vision when tucked or when elbow dragging? Is the helmet inner side in the upper part of view seen?
I had 602 and it horrible peripheral and vertical vision :(
Hey Robert. As for me, I only drag knees, but it is worn by many MotoGp and WSBK racers so I think vision is adequate. Those guys drag elbows so I guess it isn't too much of a problem. I won't wear anything else and this is my 4th X-Lite helmet and 5th year racing with them. Good luck with your search!
@@thecouchtrip1251 Thanks for info. I value your opinion more as you probably know MotoGP riders don't necessarily have the best gear. They are sponsored and unless really some bad product like in case of Lorenzo and his HJC lid (when he changed brands to Shark), the wear what are paid for.
@@kaliberr44 I found the vision to be excellent. It's a snug helmet with wide field of view. I love it.
This vs corsa R AGV? i like how beautiful it looks but i need a loot of ventilation without the corsa neck pain:p
Hey Noob. I have never liked AGV. Just never fit me and they always felt bulky and heavy. I have had 3 Xlite now and they feel amazing. I have crashed twice and struck my head on track and they did their job. No pain and no injury. For the price, you will not be disappointed. Ventilation is solid.
@@thecouchtrip1251 ok im sold haha i have 2x rx7v for daily but i need smth lighter more track focus for track days and mountain weekend fun. I saw that stoner orange Rs design who looks exact with the one he was wearing back on 2011 with honda got insta hooked on it
Is there speaker pockets in there?? Can you install Cardo or Sena Bluetooth?
Nope. This helmet is race and track oriented.
XLite does make a couple other models that are for touring, I think the 903 and 1000 series have that feature.
Thanks for watching!
Hey would you able to install com-systems like cardo or sena?
Sorry for late reply Tony. Have not been receiving notifications. You could but it isn't specifically made for it and would not fit well. This particular model is track ready. They make a 903 I think that has earholes and such for coms.
Hi does it have provision for speakers for a intercom system ?
No sir...track specific
Hi question, is there space to install speakers inside the helmet? Cardo Packtalk for example.
Unfortunately this is a race/track specific helmet. It does not have space for communications.
@@thecouchtrip1251 thanks for the response appreciate it
@@muhammadfirdaus7278 Absolutely...thanks for watching!
is the helmet loud in comparison to other helmet at the same price?
Hello T. It’s a track specific helmet so it’s not plush or made for touring. It has protection and is very light. I’d recommend their touring line if you are riding street or road. Thanks for watching.
The black visor/faceshield cane with it or you had to purchase it separately?
Hey Victor. You get both a clear and dark green visor.
The Couch Trip that is great, I’m gonna order mine thanks
Victor Rodriguez awesome! You’ll love it!

Is it possible to fit the x803RS spoiler into x803? just got 50% discount offer if im buying x803
Hi Sharif...I am sorry I do not have the answer for that. I have not owned an X803 model. Thanks for watching.
I doubt it.i have a regular x803 but the spoiler doesn't look removable at all
Is it DOT certified?
Hi the visor smoke its aditionale?
Hi, I am very sorry I did not see your comment. Yes it comes included!
How does this X-Lite 803RS fit compared to the EXO Air R1? my HJC RPHA 11 Pro hugs me perfectly in Large, but my Exo Air R1 in Large is a tad bit loose since I basically like no movement if i'm tugging on it left, right, up down. Looking into the 803RS but don't want to deal with returns. Any info will help, thanks!
Hey Chen...I like the fit on my Xlite better. More snug and less bulky. Perfect for the track. Not the best for the road and day to day
Can you put an intercom in this helmet?
No it is strictly built for the track. They make another model that has space for speaker pads and headset
I would buy one if the spoiler is a dark smoke.
paint it...lol I'm gonna give them a shot, I have a rf1200 lets see if these are good
@@russiancommy hey do you think Motocard is a reliable website to place an order?

@@MikyMiguel777 im in the states, it might be different for you if you're not bud.
I’m from New York I’m trying to get my hands on one when you ordered how long did it take
About 10 days. That was pre-Covid but I found Motocard to be super fast all things considered. I've ordered at least 4 or 5 items from them and always been impressed with both speed and quality. Thanks for watching! Let me know how you like the lid!
I'm in NJ and just ordered mine from chromeburner for the same price. It says 5-7 days shipping so we'll see. Can't wait to try it out! My first carbon fiber helmet. Also great video btw couch trip. Most detailed video I've seen on this helmet
@@TheMichaelV Suhweeeeet! Congrats on the purchase. I think you will be blown away by the sheer comfort of carbon fiber from a standpoint of ease of movement. Be warned it doesn't have much sound proofing. It's track specific. So will be noisy on the road. But if you watched the vid you know that already and the lightness/comfort alone will be worth the tradeoff! Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
@@thecouchtrip1251 Thanks! Yup I’m coming from an Arai Corsair-v which made me get earplugs lol. The shoei I had before was silent. So I’m prepared for the wind noise. I actually ordered a new Agv carbon sportmodular helmet for the road. The x-lite will be specifically for the track of for spirited backroad rides. I checked out some of your other vids and pleased to see you have an 1199R! I have an 1199S. Just got it. I’ve only been to the track with my 999, 6 years ago. Can’t wait to take the 1199S to the track this season. And can’t wait to try out the helmet on the track too!

ua-cam.com/video/wJdLdgBRVgA/v-deo.html
@@thecouchtrip1251 I’m looking for a new helmet would u buy this over the Scorpion EXO R1?
@@TheLegendaryLoso It depends on what you want to use it for. I am a die hard XLite fan but I primarily ride track/race. This helmet is very track specific. I have never purchased an XLite touring/road helmet but they do make a touring line.
I like my Scorpion but it does feel bigger/bulkier. Which for the road is a somewhat quieter ride. The price is good too. I like my Scorpion. I know that doesn't help much but I think if you want plush and more quiet go for the Scorpion or check out the XLite touring line. Good luck
@@thecouchtrip1251 okay I’m here In the US so are these Dot / ece certified? If I order from the same place as you?
@@TheLegendaryLoso It is not dot or snell approved. It’s only approved in the EU.
I’m not sure why some people care because they use these helmets to race in MotoGP (that’s good enough for me) so the dot and the snell qualification to me mean very little but I know some people prefer it.
does it have speaker pockets?
No...this is a track specific helmet. They make touring helmets, however, that do have those indentations. Just not this model.
I have the 802R and was just right in between size M and L. So I went for L. Because you mentioned the longer chin distance for the 803 RS, could it be, that the 803 RS feels a little bigger than the 802R?
Hey Hans...I would say it is a tiny bit roomier than the 802R but to be honest the 802 R was about 3 editions and 5 years ago for me. I have since had 3 of the 802RRs and now the 803RS UC so that's to the best of my recollection. Thanks for watching and I don't think you can go wrong with the RS!
@@thecouchtrip1251 Thanks! I will try the L version, since the M one has 4 weeks waiting time. If L is too big, I can send it back and go for M. Great video!
Where do you order it? Motorocard?
yep...thanks for watching
Is it flat visor or not?
Hey Rudy, not sure what you mean by a "flat" visor?
How is the wind noise
Hey Orlando, I use foamier ear plugs and I only use this helmet for racing and track days so noise is not something I consider or pay attention to. Way too much adrenaline pumping in my ears to notice. That said, it is a race specific helmet and will be noisier on the road than one of their plusher touring helmets. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
How about safety?
I've crashed in the 802RR on 2 different occasions. Both times the helmets (I always replace my helmets anytime I have a crash) cracked laterally showing that the helmet did it's job to diffuse the impact laterally. I had no injuries and continued to race after putting on my back up helmet. So I'd say safety is excellent
what size is that one?
small. 56cm...sorry for the late reply
My head circumference is 56cm too but i found the small to be too tight. Did you happen to try it out as it is or did you remove the chin pads?
What size is the helmet presented in the video and how many is its head in cm?
