Update: Just got my helmet and rode with it for the first time. Nice helmet, although I will say that it runs a fair bit tighter than my other helmets in the same size (M). My head is 58.5cm, so right in the middle of everyone's M and L sizing though.
Very drafty helmet. I found when the visor was fully closed I still got a draft direct into my eyes. Returned it as it may have been faulty as it looked like the rim were the visor closed was pulling away causing the issue
Sounds like a fault or adjustment needed. The visor as should fully seal it is a pressure seal but you still hear it when you’re fully down. You can also lock the visor close with the side button… but good luck with that one! 😹
You can open the visor with just two fingers no problem Do gesture like your turning a thumb screws use your thumb on the visor tab and index finger on the chin vent This way you won’t pull your head up or any other unnecessary movement
Nice helmet Dom had no idea that Nolan's were still there as Xlite so I've learnt something today always good 😊I currently have a Arai can't remember the model but I do find it difficult at junctions with side vision so may well consider an Xlite next time 👍Thanks
They do yes, but Nolan is a more budget lid than say a Arai. X-Lite is their carbon racing lids and are right up there with all the best brands; but a carbon race lid will be designed to have the visor shut and will be noisy.
Just ordered one yesterday. My head size is 56,5 and I was about to get a M cause all shops have the standard sizes, thanks to you I changed to a S. Just one question, I don't like the clear spoiler and I was counting remove it too, but I dig that smoke spoiler. I imagine that do not came included, it was bought after?
Glad the video helped! The helmet comes with the clear and the normal. Like you I didn’t like the clear and took it off right away; but as more lids came out with spoilers I put mine back on and do like the look; I have bought it in smoke and it looks better (£30 online). Play about with the head pad. I put it where I thought I liked it when at home then when I would ride I would notch it forward two then back if it hurt until I got it just right.
@dogukanaydogdu8025 a bit tight in the beginning, even uncomfortable after 30 minutes first 3 or 4 days. took a couple of weeks to break, but after that was like a glove. Totally worth it. Just don't forget to use earplugs.
Mine were in between temple and ear then top of head as it curves. Hot spot would only come after 45 min of wearing the helmet so was impossible to spot in a shop.
Hi i bought 803 gold edition n love it but doing my bike lessons n instructor told me as its not showing ECE approved stitched on to strap i may fail test 😢 on the epc liner there is indinted numbers is that ECE numbers 🤔 Help im stressed😂
It will, but for my head the speakers where too close to ear. But although that slot is the perfect placement and size for speakers, it isn't designed for them 'officially'.
Nice and very informative video brother.. thanks so much. I just wonder why they have so many different chart sizing, some of them says 57 cm is Medium, others says is Small. I wear 57 cm on AGV helmets, Do you think x lite 803 rs Small size will it fit good on 57 cm head? Thanks in advance buddy.
Good detailed review, like you I’ve got an awkward head size/shape and am usually a 2xl arai size, but mistakenly got a arai XL qv 5 year ago and get pinch points on fore head and ears get squeezed a lot. So not sure if you’d know but would a 2xl do or would it be a bit tight. I live in Orkney so trying helmets is difficult, cheers
With our heads, impossible to say you have to try them on. Ask what their return policy is, a lot of places let you try on and so long as you don’t ride send back.
Depends, I’m a 56 and wear a small which is tight until the padding breaks in which I need to replace every year. Hopefully you’ll be ok. But I fell into the trap of buying medium helmets thinking they fitted; then 3 months later they were too loose.
I got the helmet not to long ago. The medium fit perfect. But I know what you mean. Hjc is one of the brands where it fits fine. Then after a while the pads suck. But thanks for the feedback. Great video.
Good question! Got me thinking now 😂 It closes with pressure. So if you have the lock on you would assume you have it to the maximum close; so you shouldn’t be able to feel any air come through. I don’t use the lock and have closed to what I think is full and air audio comes through and I pull it down a little more and then release I hadn’t gone full. If you do feel air through on full close try swapping the shields and see if that makes any difference.
@@ThatTeaBagger mine closes fully with no air through, but you need to pull the visor down with pressure. This is where lubing the seal regularly comes into play!
What’s the law on visors , can they be tinted ? I’m confused because I was led to believe they are illegal , I have two helmets , both with clear visors and one has the in built sun visor .
You can have any visor you like in the day; but when the sun goes down (not cloudy, down as in night) it must be a clear visor. I double and triple checked this with the police. If you can fit a shoei helmet they have transition visors so you never have to worry about changing visors.
No there are no pockets for speakers however where the padding meets there is a perfect gap (which I tried to video as best I can). But be warned for me the speakers would touch my ears and give me ache after a few hours. This is why I took them out and use PluFones.
@@yodomcat Okay. Thanks. Might try with the standard headphones, but the Plugfones are quite cheap so might get them anyway. How are they compared to the standard headphones? I don't need magnificent audio because it's hard to hear anything anyway, but still want a bit of good audio. And your intercom, is it fitted to the helmet with a clip or adhesive on the side? I would rather use the clip if possible.
@@emmabuerstad4114 I have a Sena 30K and the plugfones although so cheap are better than any speakers you will find on the market as they go in your ear and so no sound issue at 150mph! Whereas my mates with the updated speakers still can’t hear anything above 70mph. Plus they’re ear plugs.
I am very interested in buying a new helmet and I really like the X-Lite 803 RS UC, but compared to other helmets (Shark, AGV, Shoei) the X-lite has the worst ventilation rating, even having more heat inside than the temperature outside! On the price scale and competitors, the Shoei X-Spirit 3 is one of the best! But is it anyway, or is the X-lite enough for road use and little or no track use!? Thanks for the review 😉😉
More than enough for the road. With the temps in the UK a couple of weeks ago at 35C I felt the vents working and was happy with the lid. I would note from a build perspective the others are better but fit is selective and this fits me so well.
Not designated space, no. However you can get speakers in fine. But for me I have it tight around my ears and the speakers were pushing so I removed and use headphones (Plugfones).
Great video man. Added another lid to the list of choices lol. This one seems like it’ll be at the top

I love the Arai’s and they fit me! But this is so good I don’t really need to for a while.
Just bought the same helmet with blue visor, cant wait! Where did you get the dark spoiler from?
I got it from helmet city 👍🏻
Can you try to fit a pair of glasses inside? i know they arent "meant" for glasses, and dont have the cutout, but no one i see online has even tried.
Not really. You can if the bits on the glasses that go behind your ears are flat but otherwise no.
Thank you! Love that style of helmet, but most seem to be that way. Except of course the really REALLY expensive ones.
@@griffinhimes2698 the X804 has cut outs for glasses
Can I add the spoiler to the RR model pal?
Yes, mine came with the spoiler but that was the hot lap
Can you do a video on installing the Bluetooth speaker under the padding ?
I didn’t install the speaker as I use plugfones. But stay tuned to the channel as I’ll review them soon 👍🏻 soooo much better than speakers.
Does Nolan have a helmet that has a more sophisticated visor? One that can seal shut better. And a helmet that is quieter?

did you buy an after market smoke spoiler or did it come with the helmet?
It comes with the spoiler in the video but clear. I bought a new spoiler in the smoke black 👍🏻
Where can I buy a smoke black spoiler in Germany?
Is the Aliexpress okay?
So it won't fit like the Cardo speakers in it with regards to the slot that you've shown on the video? :)

I use plugfones. They go direct in your ears and act as ear defenders and speakers. Very cheap too. Keep peeled to channel I will do a review soon

Small
Did you recommend this helmet for street use only or it is not worth it is no intention to go into the tracks? Thanks
I haven’t done a track day yet (will do one next year), so I only use for street. 👍🏻
