I've made these a few times and each time they alright, I didn't really get any coffee flavor from them so the last time I used a couple table spoons of strong black coffee with the espresso powder and they came out absolutely perfect. Amazing recipe and one of my families favorites.

Around here it can be bought at the grocery store in the baking aisle (pretty much any grocery store), but I did buy this red at the bulk barn. I bought a 100ml container.
I made these yesterday and they are yummy. The instant espresso I bought was granulated so I added it to the warm butter first to make sure it dissolved completely. Thank you for the recipe.
I made rhis last day. And it was super delicious! Like super super delicious. Instead of 2 tbsp espresso. I just use 1tbsp of it and a table spoon of cocoa powder. Great recipe! My family and friends love it so much! Thank you!
Made these yesterday, looked like yours but I didn't have espresso I used cappuccino mix, didn't have a real stand out flavor, but the brownie itself is VERY good especially cold it taste like cheesecake, so moist and thick, the swirl was so pretty I only used 1tbsp of food coloring and it was a nice red. Definitely wanna make these again. Great recipe!

These are in the oven right now! Taking these to work as my birthday gift from me to my coworkers...unless the piece I sample tonight makes me want to keep them all for myself!!
I just made these with my friends and they came out amazing:) We were singing your intro song the whole time! Thanks so much for this recipe... It was soooo good.
I just looked it up and it seems VERY interesting, and if you've been watching me for a bit you know I like new interesting things. The Scottish tablet seems to be a lot like fudge, I think I will try it :)
You could up the flour a bit if you leave out the liquid and use the paste as I suggest or you could just leave it as is and use the paste. I really don't think it will make much of a difference. The baking time might be shorter for a less wet batter
i love all of your videos!! i try to bake most of them . you are a great influence on people young like me and people who want to start a baking career! (p.s. i love the happy cream cheese LOL!)
Or you could just scroll down to the bottom of the description box, since I've noticed that's where she's placing the anticipated questions part of it :)
I love your videos! My mom and I have writen down a bunch of your recepies so we can try them! I can't wait to eat your noms! They all look so delicious! c:
I doubled portion (my family really likes pancakes) and I made it for the first time of course, I used instant cofee insteed of espresso, vanilla sugar insteed of liquid vanilla extract and I should use next time a curd cheese rather than cream. backing was longer but in general CAKE IS DELICIOUS!!! thx yoyo ^^
I just made these and they were delicious! I replaced coffee with cocoa powder, and they tasted just fine :) It was a bit too sweet; i should've added less sugar , but thanks for the recipe!
I made these just a little bit ago...I got bored and decided to bake lol. I kinda had to laugh though because my ingredients got too cool near the end so I put the bowl with everything in it in the microwave for I think 2 or 2 1/2 minutes and they cooked inside the bowl! I made it work though and the brownies were pretty good :) Thanks for sharing this recipe!
The cream cheese smiley was so cute! The brownies look really good, Im going to have to try them! (And this is coming from a person who got sick of brownies)
An FYI for everyone: I tried this recipe without the espresso powder and it turned out great! But don't substitute the espresso powder for cocoa powder because it makes the chocolate too strong and you lose the red velvet flavor :)
1T of vanilla seemed like a lot to me. I check other sites and they suggested 1/2t. I wasn't sure if that was a typo, so I went with the half and they were great.

I loved the smiley face on the cream cheese, it made my day.
The cream cheese smiley put a huge smile on my face!
Touch the mixture and if it only feels warm and not hot to the touch you are good to add the eggs

I think these would be just fine with the paste instead of the liquid kind. You may have to adjust the baking time a bit, but they should be fine.
brownies + cream cheese = HEAVEN!
i made this yesterday, and gave it to my friends today, and everyone absolutely loved it! i love baking and your videos, and im 11 lol
I absolutely love your recipes and this one would be my all time favourite as I love coffee... Cheers.xXX.
I love that stuff, but ran out just the other day and had to use the regular kind :)
There is actually two measures of vanilla in this, one for the brownie layer (1tsp) and one for the cream cheese layer (1tbsp) :p
That looks soooo yummy! I wish I could like it more than once!
Sure! I think I wouldn't put two tablespoons though, maybe two teaspoons.
LOL I love the happy face in the cream cheese!
