- Volk's Electric Railway in Brighton, is the oldest operating railway in the world, opened in August 1883, it celebrated its 140th anniversary with a parade and VIP guests including the TV presenter Tim Dunn, on 12th April 2023. The celebrations took place in the morning and normal service resumed in the afternoon.
