Serious INJURY At Pipeline This Morning | 15 Wipeouts Over Shallow Reef
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 гру 2023
- The swell was on the rise and surfers were charging. Many solid barrels were completed, but just as many ended in disaster. In the early morning hours, 15 heavy wipeouts occured and one surfer had to be carried off the beach. It appeared as though he injured his right leg. We hope it is not too severe, and wish for him a speedy recovery.
On a positive note, there were great rides ridden by Alonso Correa, Sebastian Correa, Carissa Moore, Jeff Hubbard, Mikey Bruneau, Makana Franzmann, Dylan Franzmann, Ted Mucciarone, and others.
This all happened before 10 am on 12-22-23. Stay tuned for more vids from later in the day. - Спорт
Im an 80 year old lady. Ive never surfed, wished I had. Love watching these clips. But I have to ask, are they all mad out there???? 😮
Yes, they are madly addicted to the barrel and Pipeline.
When you see that almond eye you won't care if you're mad...
You have to be a little angry to surf big scary waves. People that surf small waves are usually happy
It’s not too late…. Maybe Waikiki first.😅. They’re actually not as crazy as u think. As it’s something you build up to over time. But paddling out there without a helmet, yes that may be a bit nutty.
Surf photography is a good hobbie
Jeff Hubbard rides so good at pipe line
Holy shit Carissa is amazing! 🤙
Talented and driven 🤙
Once again, great footage and editing, up to standard for ODL. And THANK YOU again for allowing us to hear the natural sound of the ocean, feeling closer to the actual experience of these waves even when it involves wipeouts. Really nice not to have to turn off the sound of someone banging out some crude music. Great for the garage, club or concert but mother nature produces her own great soundtrack That is the performance stadium Pipeline!
Thank you again. It really means a lot. Yea, the ocean is one of the best sounds on earth 🤙
@@OffDaLip Yes it is.......I can see the ocean from my office window in SoCal and those sounds are just 2 blocks away.
Hear! hear! Lovely to hear the raw sound of the waves!
The boog burner @1:15
Instant Karma @ 1:48
And didn’t even pull in
Great video
that one body boarder looked like a menace
Got to love Carissa ❤🤙🏼
She's a highlight reel 🤙
Plenty of talent great all round , nice footage 🇦🇺 Shazza
4:11 very unexpected troll wave lip...
Wow, not the biggest day, but heavy for sure! Nice vid.
really appreciate it 🤙
Yes Completely crazed. With massive 🏀🏀!
Kai Lenny got BEYOND lucky. He said he never wore a helmet at Pipe. The one time he did, it saved his life. His helmet was split
Yea, I was there for that. Here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/pa2C2cTOIvE/v-deo.html
@@OffDaLip that was a gnarly slam. Great footage
Carissa and Hubb killed it
The many faces of that wave, morning sick and rugged. So much good waves.... spongers put soo much time on out there
The ocean is very powerful I remember in grinds bay got pounded by a very small wave and has sand in my nose
I've surfed plenty big waves but almost broke my neck at 2 foot Sandy Beach. Even the smallest wave has the entire ocean behind it, that's easy to forget.
Surfer in blue helmet was charging brah!! Who is that?
damn thats beast mode pipe
Yup, and the forecast looks pretty gnarly 🤙
Are dogs actually allowed to run off leash on the beach at Pipeline? Love your videos, I just love watching the surfers and hearing the ocean. Thanks
I never thought about that, but you bring up a good point. Are you asking because of the chance that a wave could come up and wash them away? On a rising swell that would be a risk 🤙
@@OffDaLipThe dogs were eyeing the line up...they may surf Pipe soon.
Merry xmas my brothers ❤
@@OffDaLip Not at all. My dogs love the beach and running off leash. They are very well behaved and have gone to many different beaches. I was looking up dog friendly beaches all over, of which Hawaii has many but I thought I had seen Pipeline they were not allowed at all. I am one of those people that think dogs should be allowed most places, as long as they are friendly, social, well trained and their people clean up after them and are responsible. Sadly, more often than not, that isn't the case. I love seeing the happy dogs enjoying themselves on the beach. Almost as much as the surfing.
@@asrotties Oh yea, the ehukai/pipe area is super dog friendly. Today there were a bunch of goldens sprinting the length of the beach, having the time of their lives. Great place to take the dogs this time of year 🤙
Unless you're a local you spend 5 hours out there watching the locals lol
I might be the bodyboarder. If so, apologies and blessings to the surfer. Not my intent to burn. Over the past 1.5 hours, 5 waves went unridden because guys showed they were going and pulled out. They were given "visual courtesy." By this point I was seeking "verbal communication" -- a yell. Again, if this was me, "e kala mai ia'u." Blessings and great vid!
Carissa was charging.
100% 🤙
That hop up the sand brings back bad memories, praying it's not a life-changing knee injury 🤞. Anyone know his name?
Yea, that was a heavy moment. Hope it's not too bad 🤙
i think the lifeguards should pull kooks out of the lineup when they get in the way lol. we saw that now get out lol go down the beach and practice then come back
haha, that used to happen, but not from the lifeguards 🤙
@@OffDaLip lol
0:45... So sick!!!!
Da Boys were getting some 🤙
I'm glad helmets are finally being normalized out there. So many people cracking their heads on the reef.
Kai lenny yesterday wore a helmet out there for the first time. He cracked the helmet in half and had to go the the ER. Very lucky he chose to wear one 🤙
They are all tough until they not
Young fella with the white board is running through some barrels.
Ted Mucciarone 🤙
First guy to get injured is Lu boy. Hope he recovers quickly, but it looks like karma. Maybe he should try to be a little less entitled always yelling at/bullying other surfers for minor issues, acting like he owns the damn beach..
What is Lu boy's name?
I never understand how we see wipeouts at Pipe that look horrific on HUGE waves, and those guys walk away totally unharmed. Then you see this wipeout. It was a big wave for us Californians, but note huge for Pipe standards, and he get's injured. There's so many wipeouts out there, but somehow only a select few are injured badly.
What about Eimeo's wipeout that hospitalized him on day 3 at pipe? Looked like nothing, but he said it was the worst wipeout of his life and he doesn't remember anything afterwards. And he charges massive chopes. You can watch it here on my channel at the 8:56 mark: ua-cam.com/video/7RinhVGzad8/v-deo.htmlsi=SgsfefMrk9jRTMQm&t=535
@@OffDaLip How is Eimeo? I thought I saw a cameo of him in Nates video and he was out and about. Hope he is doing well. Not a good way to end a contest, with a ride to the hospital.
@@OffDaLiphe went headfirst over the lip, definitely didn’t look like nothing
@@grantalexander1017 He very likely just drove straight to the bottom, with the water barely cushioning the fall. Sometimes that happens, other times it doesn't. Everyday i watch pipe the more i think helmets are essential out there
The smaller waves are breaking on shallower reef, easier to get banged up
How does JJF never get hurt out there?
Guys like JJF, Barron, Makana put themselves on the heaviest waves in the most critical sections but they always know what to do in a split second. They seem at home at pipe.
I know that grom he lives at Sunset..
Amadorizou no Drop
whos that dude in the blue hat
timestamp?
People getting lipped
Yea, everyone was sending it 🤙
Lol, kooks be owning the water
😮😮
Heavy pipe

so e of these "sponsored" dudes shoulsnt be surfin pipe bruvva
Decapitation
so many heavy wipeouts that day 🤙
