Please never stop the POV pipe vids I love not only the shots of you riding the wave but also you navigating the lineup, seeing the wave roll in, calling a direction, catching that wave, etc. It's very unlikely I'll ever surf that wave in my lifetime so seeing it from your POV is incredible

I appreciate you wearing the helmet. I got my bell rung pretty good by an errant longboard on a small day. The board was owned by an experienced surfer who didn’t wear a leash. Now I wear a helmet and he wears a leash. Mother Nature is in charge every day and anything can happen. Be safe ✌️

When it's pushing 10' at Pipe & Sunset, I run west or stand on the beach and watch.
Say what you like. Until you've been out there, you don't know. The one's that have, they know why I ain't intrested. I rode the biggest waves of my life out there for four years. There were plenty of days it was WAY too big. Not to worry. EVERY big swell is smaller before and after.....

Wow … some great gorgeous waves and rides! … But what the heck with Van’s Pipe stating they had to hold it when they did … men’s final was the worst NASTY Pipe EVER … because the predicted condtions are going to get even worse … yeah, right! Guess Van’s was on some financial deadline more important than better conditions for competitors. But so happy 🎉 John John won along side his brothers!

@@jamesw5185 my guess is a dual lens camera that is almost taking line a double exposure but in video form. That, or there is coincidentally a couple of trees behind the camera man casting a shadow in the exact spots to make it seem that way

Taking the first wave of a set at pipe on big day, and NOT making it. Dat’s just a smidge more than I could handle. Thanks for ending the clip with that though. It should work well to give aspiring pipe posers a reality check.

There's literally no reward. Surfers don't get paid well anymore, and are respected less than in the past. You are essentially doing it for your own pride of accomplishment.

I can't get into Joe at all not sure why he annoys me just don't resonate with him. I know some love his mediations they give me anxiety. 😂
