I think its God Scrander looks better than the transforming Soul of Chogokin version, but that wasn't enough to get me to burn 50 bucks for one. (If only the GX-45 came with a more dynamic anime-accurate non-transforming God Scrander, much like the SRC's.) The one reason that would make me buy one is its scale. If Bandai starts pumping out other robots from that series (Hunky Boss Borot, the Mazinger Army, Garadoublas...), it will be really hard to resist. (Not holding my breath for that Garadoublas. They'll never make one. That would be just too awesome, I suppose.)
I am looking forward to that review! I have be eyeing that figure for awhile. The pictures look great and I love Shin Getter, hard to find a good rendition of him. But I am waiting for reviews of the figure before I spend 70+ dollars. Great reviews, keep it up!!
would you happen to have just the SRC Mazinger Z? I have this Shin Mazinger and wondering if getting the original warrants any merit other the sword. But then again you can just borrow the one off Great Mazinger. Just curious if there's anything that stands out between the two.
Ever though about getting mazin emperor g? It comes with a great blaster effect part, and I've noticed that you like that kind of effect parts. It's also pretty fantastic on it's own

I'll have to disagree with you on better offerings. The Soul of Chogokin Shin Mazinger, be it the one with or without God Scrander don't have near the same accessory count, are only slightly bigger, aren't as articulate as this, and the one that comes with the God Scrander suffers reduced articulation and lack of die-cast. Unless you need a firing rocket punch, tons of die-cast, or the ability to turn into the big bang punch, I don't see why you'd go for anything else.
I just got Grendizer two weeks ago from Amazon. I also have Great Mazinger a few months back. The Super Robot Chogokin line is simply fantastic. Right now I'm just waiting for the release of Super Robot Chogokin - Mazinkaiser to complete my trio. Yeah, I'm skipping the Mazinger Z for Mazinkaiser instead. Not that I don't like Mazinger Z, it's just that I got the Soul of Chogokin version of him. Don't need a smaller version when I already have the SOC version. Are you getting Mazinkaiser?

What's the difference between the original Mazinger Z and Shin Mazinger Z? They look almost the same if you don't add the wings to Shin Mazinger Z.
Mazinger Z has blue legs/arms and is thinner. Shin is all black and fatter. Also, their chest bits are slightly different.
