I just got mine this week...Beautiful playing on a stunning guitar..it sounds just wonderful and so easy on the eyes. I own a Gibson Hummingbird and also this Epi Hummingbird..I really do love them both. And the Epi is a steal at 1/3 the price. I actually play the Epi now more then the Gibson, there is just something about this guitar and its delicious sweet clear, glassy mids and highs that capture the heart. ...at times, even more so than the Gibson. Get it, you won't regret it

They're a good Guitar for the price and it shows in quality. I got a transparent black one recently and it's a dang good instrument. Pretty looking too. The black one I got has a shortened headstock though in comparison to the one you're playing. So it has more of an Inspired by Gibson look. I dig it.
One thing I didn't expect was this Guitar has a 4.5in depth at the lower end and 3.5in near the neck connection. Maybe it traditional to Epiphone to make the width that deep but I think a dreadnought should have at least another inch or 3/4 to the Depth of the instrument. But it's a good Guitar for what it's priced (504$ after tax) I preferably play acoustic so I tried the electric when I got it and its descent but I don't use it. It's got scalloped x bracing if that's info anyone needs. One thing that bothers me is the binding running along side my bass side had some small fractures on the sides of each frets installed from the 15th to the 19th. I see it's factory error and a result of the maker not tapering the plastic binding down to a skinnier with before installing the frets, so when it was compressed in or hammered in place the tips of the fret made contact with the binding instead of just slipping in place. Other than that I love it. It's solid even with the mahogany laminate back and sides.
I just picked one up, virtually new, with a pricey Taylor strap, clip-on tuner, and nice capo, all for $250 I love the look. It has a nice rich sound, but the action is slightly higher than I'd prefer. I might give the truss rod a quarter turn.
How would you like to compare this one to the Sigma Hummingbird one?

The rock stars had the Gibsons , same with Lennon and Harrison had gibsons ej160’s , they never had the Epiphone versions. I wish the literature was acknowledge this.

Exactly. I own both guitars but the Gibson is the one played by all the stars NOT the Epiphone look alike. and the difference in tone and sound between the too, is as shocking as the price difference.
Okay but Sir McCartney still plays his Epiphone Texan, and half the Beatles owned a Epiphone Casino after being convinced to buy one by McCartney. Paul even said that his Casino is his favorite guitar of all time

Yes, I’m not saying they didnt have Epiphones I’m saying they had Gibson j-160’s which are different than the epi versions.

One of these caught my eye wondering around GC...I figured it was just a cheap imitation but gave it a whirl & boy was I surprised...Only the bridge was coming up bigtime & it was tuned a full step down I'm sure to avoid it from coming off completely...Anyhow I made an offer, 250.00 & they accepted... I removed the bridge completely, made a new nut & saddle of bone, bone bridge pins I had removed the P/U system, don't like piezo under the bridge & installed a K&K I had laying around and holy smokes what a nice playing/sounding guitar. I was just curios how much better I could make this thing sound. The neck on these are super comfy for small hands. These are great if you get a good one for the dollar & I just might keep this awhile...Nice Video here on a pretty darn nice guitar.
I played one when I first started learning guitar 11 years ago and it was a good beginner guitar, but I couldn’t ever see myself going back to one.. especially now that I have a Martin HD-28 and a D-18 in my arsenal

@@blakeb4583dude paid 250$, which it sounds better than a beginners imo. I think they go for 800-900$ new nowadays which is pretty dang expensive for a beginner. lol. I’m a Martin guy but I don’t mind the sound, just the pickup in the guitar. I’d def get a condenser to record

Mine came with 0012-0053 but I've found that lighter strings sound better.

Damn dude! I have literally the same question and a decision to make! That’s crazy I liked the Yamaha but now discovered the hummingbird after seeing and knowing Caleb from KoL using one and I just fell in love with the hummingbird
Is this the Hummingbird Pro or the Inspired by Gibson Epiphone Hummingbird?
The pro. Inspired by has little pearl dots on both side of the bridge next to the pins.

I think the tone Is minimally lesser than gibson, but the head stock Is way uglier on the epiphone, and I think the laminated finish top look's bad, so visually gibson all the way, otherwise It's still a lot of guitar for the money, minimally different. One reason for Gibson the most would be the head stock
