Releasing an album every December for the last decade has been kinda exhausting, both mentally and creatively. So it's time to slow down a little and do some extra projects I've wanted to do for a while.
I'm turning 41 years old this year and don't have the energy I used to have to be constantly creating 24/7, haha!
But don't worry, the game songs aren't going anywhere, they're just gonna take a little longer to come out from now on. You guys have 200 other songs to keep you going while you wait so hopefully you should be ok :D

Honestly, the more passion you have for a game the more obviously it shines through in your work, every time I load up Mojave Song I am so utterly blown and swept away by the music and end up rocking out for 8 solid minutes. I've been following you since your first Metro song and have loved absolutely everything you've released up until now, it'll be really good to see how you remake some music in this year! Hyped as hell man!

For 9 years she's listened to you after I introduced her and she's played maybe one game, or seen me play a few. She loves your music because it captures feeling, tones and stories and she get's the gist without ever playing or comes and asks me.
You succeed at what you set out to do. Keep going.

My dad also often points out how varied my musical taste is and at one point when he was doing that, he pointed out how the song I was listening to at the time was so different from one I was listening to just an hour earlier and I told him that "dad, they were both by the same guy." He was really impressed with your range. Can't remember which two songs it was, though....
Same here, I'm the big gamer of the two of us but my wife loves your music as well, especially the more folky/Celtic stuff, which Includes Valhalla of course. Also my 3.5y old daughter can already sing along to some songs of yours :)

When I first discovered your channel I was a junior in high school, in 2013/2014. My now 18-month-old daughter listened to the music so much while she was in the womb she recognized it when she came out and still dances whenever I put it on. And now my son is 21 weeks along and he kicks for the music too. It feels like you're music has joined me on my great life adventure. We are all so excited to see what comes next and see you do what makes you happy. 🧡

Hey Gav, you may not know this, or maybe you do, but so many of us have listened to your music since the beginning. We've been here for over a decade, our interests have evolved with yours because the content drew us in, but we stayed for the artist. Whatever direction you go, we'll be excited to see what you do next. This year's gonna be great.
My Dad doesn't play video games and frankly isn't interested in them at all. However, he is a big fan of your music, so through your songs, I'm able to share something I'm passionate about with him.
Y'know what gav? You've basically given us such a vast wave of songs, you should take some time for yourself and this seems like the perfect time. So take your time, find your center, and when you're ready, come on back and wow us yet again with another fantastic track.

I seriously appreciate your artistic integrity, and the fact that you only release songs based off things you're passionate about rather than chasing fads. It shows so much in the quality of what you put out.

There's a limit to how much work one person can do and in recent years I think people have become far too obsessed with making work their entire reason to be. You're exceptionally talented and there will always be people who admire your music, so there's no reason why you or any creative person shouldn't feel free to do what you want at the pace you want. Best of luck with your new projects going forward. I look forward to whatever you do.

You likely get the message a lot but your music has really helped me process through some rather rough times. Please take any breaks you need in any form they need to take. UA-cam Fatigue is way too real.

I truly wish more people had that kind of mindset when creating projects. Too few people will keep to that and it is comforting to hear ya say that. Passion comes from what you "want" to do, not what you "need" to do.
Valhalla Calling is my life theme music. I'd imagine I'm not the only one, so I'm surprised it doesn't have 10M+ views by now :D. Good luck on the Path! ;)

I think that one of the reasons why Valhalla's Calling blew up so much is that it's probably the catchiest melody you've ever written. I've listened to it only once, but found myself humming it couple times a day even two weeks later.

Commander Shepard is... unironically my favourite song of yours. I had no idea it was based on a meme. But I can see why you wouldn't want to remake a gem like that.

Valhalla calling is a masterpiece on every single level; it has an epic geniune feel, a full and rich sound and inspiring heroic lyrics. And you can sing a long with it which is a huge plus for me as I love songs I can do that with. I played it non stop for 5 days when I first found it, in fact I'm going straight to it from here. I've never played a single minute of any Assassin's creed game, nor do I watch Vikings but that song.... damn it if it doesn't make me feel nostalgic.
I would love to hear more of the mythological songs like Sirona, Grainne Mhaol, and the tale of cú chulainn! Those ones have always been my favourites.

I've honestly found that your songs that aren't video game inspired have often been my favorite. There's this get pumped energy in Evacuate, Jet Black Dress, Every Time You Look Around, Back to the Start, etc. that I've always really loved from your work.

Found you through some streamer back in the Level 3 days, and you've been a staple of my playlists ever since. Rock on, mate.
Most of the songs I've listened to from you, I've never played the games they're based on. They absolutely stand out on their own. And of course, one cannot force themselves to be inspired or invested in something, do what you're best at and do them when you feel like you can best make them. If that means taking a break until you get inspired on your own, so be it. We'll be waiting. Keep rocking on.

The thing about this is, you've reached the point where no matter what you decide to do, people will still be just as excited. Even if there are no new releases this year or any releases at all. As a fortnite and fnaf fan I have to agree with this. A lot of fnaf and fortnite fan songs actually suck because the creator just pumps out songs to keep up with the trend. Plus miracle of sounds style doesn’t really fit with fnaf or fortnite (he could do a song about the zero point but that’s not really what fortnite is known for)

I think part of what keeps me coming back to your music is how your love for the games themselves shines through. While there are still many people who do not take games seriously as an art form (including, sadly, many of the people in charge of the businesses that create those games), you always manage to find the heart of the work and express it through your music. And that is something I appreciate, so many years after discovering your work.
Your music has consistently been the kind that I always come back to. Whenever I’m stressed out studying for exams, crunching through a project, or trying to get through busy work days your music always manages to keep me motivated and focused. Frankly, you deserve to take as much time as you need and write songs only about things that you enjoy.
As a minor aside, Into The Mind has always been a favorite of mine. So well done there in particular!

2) I get "Commander Shepard" is a meme song, but I hope you would consider a modern imagining of a "tribute to shepard" song. With the Shepard trilogy long over, a hype AF tribute to shepard and all the badass shit he did, in the tune of someone marveling at his adventure. That shit would be awesome. We all miss shepard, we all would love an anthem to rally behind ME:1-3

the video game songs always blow me out of the water & your ambient album Vista has been one of my favorite background pieces for drawing, driving & office times, among others!
Gav remember that we are fans and love your music. Do not feel pressured to rush or force music and videos out. Your songs are all amazing and are good introductions into the games themselves. I really wish some one would get you to officially do a song for their IP. Also you are one of the few people who have immortalized some more obscure myths into song like your The Tale Of Cú Chulainn, a great song to introduce people to an Irish hero who most do not know of.
The Assassin creed songs of yours are the best. Downloaded them all and listen to them all the time

SpaceX's mission, Boston Dynamics insane robotics, NATO or UN's mission or perhaps go into history (like Sabaton does)
I think that'd be cool, if he wants to do real life event songs. His song "A Long Year" really gave people deep chills. Still does
As someone who's written a few novels for no financial gain, I know firsthand that creative burnout definitely hits hard sometimes. Personally, I'm glad that "Making Some Changes" means making less music rather than meaning making no music, since you're by far my favorite artist. Your songs so beautifully capture the feeling of playing a video game that I've bought Assassin's Creed games even though I don't like them, but because the songs you've made were so cool. (I was disappointed to find that Unity did not feel as cool to play as My Revolution made it seem, nor did it run as well on my computer). I look forward to every song you make, especially a remastered Take It Back, which I already love in it's current state, so I can't imagine how great it'll be once you take another look at it. Keep doing what you're doing at whatever pace works, we'll be here to enjoy every song you make.

Honestly, you make very few songs about games I've played or have interest in, but I love all your music anyway.... I don't need to get the references, they're so subtle that it doesn't detract from the experience. You convey emotion and mood, and so many of your songs inspire me to work on my own projects. The cycle keeps on turning. I feel like I'm late to the party, it's only been under a year since I found my way to your channel, but it's been a good year to have your library to jam to.
