Pretty much two dudes talking about Nyjah the whole sesh.
It's because this is what there told to do. Sports media are encouraged to hype up the stars because they bring in the rateings. Just like they act like every shot labron James makes is the best shot they ever seen. They know that 85% of the people tuning in are najha Houston fans and they are hoping he wins. So to keep people tuned in and comeing back they hype the star up. All sports media does this. It's not Houston's fault.

I mean tbh nyjah is a in another league than the majority of dudes in this content. Yuto is one guy who I think is on his level. U can’t really down play how good nyjah is dude tho... judges do sometimes give him the benefit of the doubt I’ll give u tht but he also does land some of the hardest tricks plain and simple.

Why are they calling this a “jam” format when only one skater goes at a time? A jam is more or less a free for all where all the skaters do whatever, wherever, and whenever... This is just like any other contest!

It would be very difficult to judge each person on whatever trick they landed when a judge is focused on someone else. Therefore we have this. It actually makes a lot of sense if you think about what goes into judging a competition.

This segment consisted of a few tricks, a lot of bails, and 20 minutes of the announcers trying to convince the viewers not to change the channel.

Do a 25 minute open course jam everyone at once just skating the park like every other day if you’re a skater. Afterward, start the street contest. While that is going on have a group of judges watch back the footage and give medals for overall best jam session. Don’t forget that you can still give a medal for best trick within the session. That way if a skater wants to focus on just a nbd trick or being consistent with the park. Idk just thinking

It's not just realizing that video parts take hours worth of tries for one trick, it's also realizing how big stuff is in person. I'll travel to spots, take one look and think "There's no way."

I know it was a massive wasted opportunity. I was desperate to see that boardslide so badly! Also having only this section of the course avaliable doesn't take into account that the various skaters all have different styles. This layout may suit some, but others are at a disadvantage. Making all the park skateable next year would improve this event so much
I bet that the filmers couldn’t keep up if everyone was skating different parts of the course. They had a terrible camera crew this year

This is probably the funnest thing i have seen today, "best in the world" fail to get any tricks for a solid 20 minutes.

Chris Joslin's trick was waaaay harder.
Glad to see best trick back but some things are wack like only tricking the middle obstacle. Foy was screwed by that. Silver and bronze medals would also make the skaters strategize differently and put down more tricks.
They should of had the whole course for best trick. Would of been sick to have seen some of the stuff down on the big and long rail

It's not hate against nyjah, its watching the runs and not understanding how other people aren't getting the same scores with arguably just as hard if not harder tricks. That being said i think he deserved the best trick win, but when you watch the run section its hard to understand how he gets the scores he does compared to other people.
