PSA for all those wondering why you should make weapons for classes you can't use: with the Lost and Found quest mentioned in the vid, crafting 1 single epic weapon requires 1 rare (purple) weapon from EACH of the three factions as inputs. You NEED all three skills in order to make Epic+ weapons.
@Tale_swapper look up "Infusion" on the wiki. It's one from each faction, and the resulting epic item will be whatever weapon you placed in the center slot and the level is the averaged level of all three items put into the obelisk. The item level calculation is currently speculative, but everything else has been confirmed by screenshots from the quest.
@@Tale_swapper nope. It's 1 weapon from each faction, and you choose which faction the epic is made for by placing the target faction weapon in the middle. It's also hypothesized currently that the item level of the epic is an average of the 3 item levels of the weapons used to make it.
My tip is level your gathering skills with the highest level most relevant thing available. Then if you need more for crafting skills, buy it. You’re gonna want to level all of your skills eventually.
Also, the epic weaponry takes 3 rare tier weapons, 1 from all three factiona, to make a single epic for a chosen faction. Getting enough epics to cover ranged, one hand, 2 hand, AND shield for all four current chapters, plus future chapters to come, and getting ones of increasing scaling every 25-50 combat levels, means you will always be crafting for more if you want top line gear. All the excess can be sold to fund the materials to get rares to make epics with. I do sincerely hope they add either increased quartermaster untuned bank space, or some form of remote sell option, or a weapons vendor in the mines to make selling low tier weapons for costs and saving epic tiers easier in future.
You dont even need the level requirements for the quest to reach the 2nd portal stone in the mine. You can go that far and a bit further into the quest with no requirements.
@hawky7644 yeah smithing is pretty straight forward just do the highest level 4 bat recipe, can do 5 bars if you want to spend a little extra if buying
should be doing the highest level ore you can use and highest level item that requires only 4 bars, the downside is the distance and filling up the gas but it is still worth doing
Gnome requires gas (gathering leeches and filling them up), and its further away from the portal stone. The only advantage is that every other tier of ore it seems requires the Gnome forge instead of the Goblin one, so for max xp rates, you do have to go back and forth between them
In epic craft, doesent matter what lvl of that item is ? just can be lvl 14 stone shiled lvl 28 bone shield and 43 Blacksmith shield and what u want that lvl be (wana stone be 14? wana Bone shiled be 28 wana blacksmith/cryo shield be 43? or must be same lvl and that lvl u get please, du u know ? @Shamonna
tl;dr; always go for highest level crafts, if you can't do them, use knoledge to get the level to get the mats. More knowledge gain, more snowball. It's a grind but it's money for tools and it is overall maybe twice or 3 times more total levels, the method he uses halves xp gains and nets abyssmal amount of knowledge, it's not worth it at all. I do not drop gear I use quatermaster and 2 sets of a material to minimize banking, always go for 24 items trips to merchant(quatermaster is closer, but sometimes go to creno to check the merchant). The biggest tip is to not overgather anything, everything is worth processing but the goal is to process the highest level stuff possible almost always(some recipes are a bit obnoxious because 6 materials, I dislike them). I have still issues with my levels being all over the place so I diversify my skills to use knowledge on skills I don't want to use mats with atm, combat, detective, merchant are for instance great knowledge makers and can over a play period get you 5-10 levels in a skill that is lagging.

why the fuck would I even train blacksmithing if I can't use any of the items if I'm not a cryoknight? Completely useless skill for 2 of 3 classes lol.
It's not because of the Lost and Found quest he mentioned. With that quest completed, which takes 40 bonewright, 60 blacksmith, and 46 stonemason, you get access to weapon infusions. This is the only current way to get epic (orange) tier weapons outside of random drops, and in order to make one, you need to combine 1 rare (purple) weapon from all three factions and then you get to make it into an epic of your choice of faction. If you want to make yourself the best tier weapons, you NEED all three crafting skills.
3:00 unlocking that portal stone does not require the completion of the quest, it unlocks before needing to kill the level 35 mob or the 29 mining
god bless this comment lol
If you do the Brannof Inheritance quest you get an item that increases Untuned weapon slots in Quartermaster.

I like that way of keeping them all relevant on one character
Wtf that sounds absolutely arbitrary. I fucking hope it's not 1 from each. 3 purples of whatever tf is what I heard.

What are you supposed to do once the quartermaster bank is full of epic+ weaponry?
Sell the leftover weapons

Yep, I just realized this yesterday just takes the minecart puzzle and you are good.
I feel like its best to stay a goblin forge after unlocking the level 37 rapier. Thoughts?

Can you make weapons for the combat classes that are not the episode 1 guard?
@derky107 yes you can! The weapons you craft are all "unattuned" and you can take those to an obelisk in each zone and tune them to that zone
What is the benefits /cons of using gnome area over goblin?

Stuff lasts for 5 minutes on the ground, maybe 10 minutes if there are not that many people around
You dont need anything but 32 carpentry for storage.
@frostfour668 That's true, I forgot the 20 wc, and the fights were to finish the quest, but you unlock storage before you need either of those

I want to spend the whole day working toward my Blacksmithing Cape but I should prob go get ALL my Skills to 20 first... mrrrr...
@casediedwell5094 I don't think you need to do that! Both paths are good! Maybe start smithing and when you want a break go chapter 4
