    Make the fork slots just on the outside edge supports so it can’t slide and take away the big piece in the center where the crap will pile up. Save some metal and headaches for buildup of crap down the road😉

  • @WoodchuckCanuck
    @WoodchuckCanuck 3 роки тому +1

    I showed this to the wife (aka Boss). Her comment was, "But it won't screen out the big pieces of bark like we have to deal with." We generally process seasoned logs, so there's a constant mess of large pieces of bark that falls off each block as it drops into the chute before being split. While we don't split into big piles and then scoop up and load/deliver later on, I suspect the same would occur. A screen would get out a lot of the small, but not the larger pieces.

    Beautiful piece of equipment! Could you set up a 16 foot at a 30 degree angle and use it as a conveyor and cleaner? That would give you an 8ft stack height and you wouldn’t need a separate conveyor. Wish you would give it a try. What size is the cut off saw on this one Andrew? It looks to be about 48", but it's hard to tell. Also wondering how the re-tooling at the new shop is going? As for the dirt on firewood, that is the #1 reason I quit burning wood. I just finally got sick of the wife bitching about the mess it made. Clean wood is definitely a benefit for anyone in the business of selling firewood.

      Yes clean wood is a must for selling. If your delivering wood with dirt that’s not good. Some here and there does happen but clean is very important. If it’s good and clean you can store it anywhere inside outside , in sheds or wherever. I’m pretty good at keeping it clean, I split a big pile then I stack it all so it’s not being run in the dirt.
