I'm changing the spark plugs on my 2019 jetta this weekend and I decided to check youtube for must-have VW DIYer tools. Glad I found your video! Although I do own a lot of the basic tools such as ratchets, bits, picks, and sockets, I never even thought about the wheel hanger, thats now on my amazon cart at the moment!
Just a word of caution about Torx bits if working on older models. Some of them will be seized solid, like some of the lock carrier bolts on a B5.5 Passat for example. Don't buy really cheap torx bits. I bought a set for about £15 and they either rounded the ends, twisted the ends or snapped them off

Never had any problem removing the connectors by hand. The trick is to push in, squeeze and then pull out. I've used picks in tight spaces where I can't reach the connector by hand, but you have to do it properly. I have seen so many broken connectors destroyed by clueless people prying on them.

Has that microbit driver held up for you? Unfortunately there are a lot of 1-star reviews for it: people love the ease of access, but… say the ratcheting mechanism fails after only a few uses.
I haven't had any issues with mine so far.

thank you for the info and the links to amazon. might want to think about links to lowes (kobalt has lifetime warranties) and harbor freight (for the cheapies that don't want to spend a lot)
