That's a nice video thank you very much for making it. My father was in
the North African campaign in 1943 he was part of the amphibious Invasion force that landed in Oran and they were fired on by the French and they returned fire. After landing in Oran they traveled east across the northern part of Algeria and Tunisia. They went up into the peninsula where Tunis is located and the Americans and British formed a barrier blocking in the German troops my father was in the American 34th Infantry Division which took Hill 609. His division had to take Hill 609 multiple times before they could hold it. Then from what I understand there was a big aerial bombardment on the German troops. After that was over some of his division went to Sicily but he remained in North Africa for a little longer before going back to England to prepare for the invasion of Normandy.

Thank you for sharing this incredible story! Sadly, you can follow the eastwards progress of the Allied troops through Tunisia via the string of war cemeteries all the way from Tabarka to Tunis. I have not been to Hill 609 yet, but I intend to soon.

@@ScafidiTravels Hill 609 was a very bloody battle. The 34th Infantry Division had to take it twice and t
In the process they lost 2300 soldiers. My father said you could walk up that hill and your feet would not touch the ground because you would be walking on so many dead soldiers. I did see a UA-cam video about Hill 609.

I thought Rommel was back in Germany to recover from illness by the time the battle for Tunisia was fought. Also the vehicle in display was regular kubelwagen. He used various types of vehicles as his personal command vehicle. The most famous one was a half truck with red lettering “Greif,” but he never used Kubel as his vehicle.

So Rommel was on his own his attacks were easily stopped and his forces repulsed at great cost in tanks he couldn't afford to lose with limited supplies getting through Rommel's options were bleak he was eventually flown out by the order of the adolf hitler Rommel's entire afrika Korp was abandoned of no futher use to the Fuhrer to fall into allied hands

No evidence of Rommel's involvement in the bomb plot has ever been discovered. Of course, this did not stop the Gestapo from implicating him anyway. There is a good discussion of this in the Quora article below. But whether he was a part of the plot or not has no relevance to whether he was a Nazi. There were plenty of Nazis involved in the 20 July plot.

"The myth of the clean Wehrmacht is the fictitious notion that the regular German armed forces (the Wehrmacht) were not involved in the Holocaust or other war crimes during World War II. The debunked myth, heavily promoted by German authors and military personnel after WWII, completely denies the culpability of the German military command in the planning and preparation of war crimes. Even where the perpetration of war crimes and the waging of a war of extermination, particularly in the Soviet Union - where the Nazis viewed the population as "sub-humans" ruled by "Jewish Bolshevik" conspirators - has been acknowledged, they are ascribed to the "Party soldiers", the Schutzstaffel (SS), but not the regular German military."

Now we're getting into some tricky historiography! You're right, he was not a member of the National-Socialist party. The relationship between Nazism and the Wehrmacht generally, and Rommel and Nazism specifically, has led to a lot of debate over the years.
My view is that if you're a strong supporter of Hitler, you openly and privately profess to admiring Hitler, Goebbels writes that you are "ideologically sound...not just sympathetic to the National Socialists. He is a National Socialist" and in your professional capacity you work tirelessly to help Hitler to achieve his strategic aims, then you're a Nazi.
There's a good discussion on this here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rommel_myth#:~:text=Rommel%20was%20not%20a%20member,and%20others%20who%20supported%20them.
