I love the whole gameplay loop of being an uninteresting target and making your base not worth the trouble to break into, I can't think of another game with a similar meta. I don't think I have enough free time to really get into Rust, but I love watching your videos!
Probably one of the coolest games to watch but not nearly as fun to play (unless you have both talent and time for the game). I put in probably 60 hours into rust, got my ass handed to me one too many times.

@@jamesbenz3228 you should consider playing on a low pop server, or PvE server + 3x drop or something like that, just so you can learn the game and have fun playing
@@jamesbenz3228, hey man. I’m also new and at like 100 hours now. You need to put some hours in before the fun starts. Due to no aim assist or those type of things you will really need to learn and play before having fun. Its only now I’m getting some skill and kills and building some good bases. I think that it will reward you if you play a bit more, but hey: Not everybody is the same.

You should, on your roof, make another triangle segment, which will act like a fake airlock. When they get through your airlock, they will see the sealed floor and another door. THey will waste satchels on the 3rd door that leads to just empty room with a sign "Not here"

One of the thing I love about rust. It’s all the modded servers. Try playing on a dead server with 5x just to get the hang of the game and the monuments. Then start playing w/e. I’m an adult and my time matters. I only play 2x or 3x. Find a friend who will play with ya. Playing with friends really changes the game. Setting up flank kills and them working is gaming moments you will never forget.

Put a stone car ramp on the fundation that you place twig roof on to break bunker. It protects against soft sideing:)

Willjum should make a Bingo Card for all the things in his videos. Like one square for a Bear/Panda Rug, one square for Grubbing with a DB, one square for getting killed by a Yogi, etc. Love the chill content friend, keep it up.

With your fascination with rugs, I am genuinely surprised you didn’t put those rugs on the outer walls of your fortress considering you opted for the forest mesh style of rug. Not sure how it would have panned out but it sounds like it could have been a potential for camouflage.

Ya know... I don't play Rust. I don't even like PVP. But for some reason I really like watching your build videos... probably because I know I'd be a wreck actually playing.
Here's a base idea you might like... know how you've made a couple bases with a hidden loot room in a crack in the floor? Well, make one with the TC in there! Might be a bit troublesome to find a location with the perfect elevation to trick everyone into thinking it's just high foundations, but if you pull it off, it's essentially impossible for raiders to get to your TC unless they try to foundation-wipe you!
That would require a full height wall to fit the tc, that’s why no one does that. Gabe has posted a pixel gap tc method though, very strong.
@@konradwithak6940 I know it requires a normal wall, that's why I said it's troublesome to find a location where you can pull it off, but if you find the right ridge or whatever, it does let you fit it without it looking weird and instead looking like just high foundations since the hole in the ground won't be visible, so people will think it's just flat ground or something rather than a secret room.
Another way but for big bases would be to make a secret trap door behind stuff you have to pick up to get past and rugs/whatnot and put your best loot and TC down there.
Called pixel gap
And you can make pixel gap bunkers on walls and ceilings it’s not just the floor so you could just put in in the wall or honeycomb
@@rcly5146 Well, not familiar with the wall one, so yeah. But if possible to do in walls, then even easier to pull it off! Hiding TC is better than outer TCs in my opinion, especially since you can still have outer ones on top.

Hey Willjum, there is actually an improved version of the same bunker, where you can place that triangle foundation you are missing, and you will not need the square foundation to be placed , as upon complition the base itself will be fully useable, normally you will encounter some trouble with extending the base
Hows that? You mean remove the square foundation and you can place the triangle? I haven't seen that, as it will be "too close to another building" due to the offset. Where is the vid though?

IIRC the trick is to go 2 or 4 triangles less far out, and then place the missing triangle. Then you go the same amount out again (cant remember if its like 11 or 13) and then place the double walls, which will link to the missing triangle you placed for stability, but still be offset enough to enable the bunker mechanism. Then from there you destroy the fully offset square, and a less-offset square placed off of the hidden triangle is close enough to the fully offset half walls to still collapse the stability to open the bunker.
Gamelightz “bunker to end all bunkers” is the improved version of this base design. He recently commented that there’s some important build order stuff you need to be aware of to prevent accidentally permanently sealing it on server restart though.
The build order is out 11 triangles, carefully place the hidden triangle, out 11 more, then carefully place the double half walls on the second offset. Then the rest of the build is the same.
I don't know how but willjum can make Rust chill as all hell and that is why I think I and lots of others love watching this man play. +Amazing personality

41:39 - You were only at 14 Satchels worth of protection, not 24. Foundation for the Box Spiral room was stone and big enough to get under, so 10 satchels for that, and 4 for the TC door. Alternatively they could blow the TC roof and then the door into the main loot.
