- ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has penned a scathing letter to DA Leader John Steenhuisen accusing him of shifting goalposts in negotiations over cabinet positions. In letter seen by the SABC, Ramaphosa says he informed Steenhusinen that they found the letter from DA Federal Chairperson Helen Zille offensive, condescending, and inconsistent with the Constitution.

DA is being very accommodating considering the proportions of support of the parties in the GNU.
The ANC is having a problem in sharing power.
Whatever the anc get the da should technically get half, if the anc get 12 ministries the da should get 6. If you read news 24 article the anc offered the da tourism in place of trade and industry. The anc don't want to give up any lucrative positions, they want to keep all main positions for themselves so they can carry on business as usual. We need fundimental change. The anc has not got a majority but yet they dictating terms to everyone. In Kzn when a government had to be formed they were the ones that said there must be preportional representation but that's only because they are not premier in that province. But now they don't want to follow that method throughout government.

If the Dutch had stayed in the Netherlands, where they belonged, there would not be this insane tussling about the resources of South Africa - the reason for 'fighting' in Africa. Plus, if Ramaphosa would've stepped down, as he should have, the GNU would experience a smoother transition. I have always been disturbed about how the Europeans want to possess other peoples' lands and resources. It's indeed disturbing. It must be that resources in Europe are non-exisistent.

If ratios of votes counts then DA is entitled to at least 30 % of total ministries. So with 30 ministries available it is only fair that DA is entitled to at least 9 ministries.

I think this fight for cabinet just a show. Ramaphosa doesn’t want ANC and the rest of the country see him too easy to work with DA. DA knows this. Just like the last minutes in first assembly, they will work this out at the end. Because there is no other way. Even if ANC works with EFF, I didn’t see EFF is easier than DA for ANC.

The electorate gave this government a clear mandate. Representation in cabinet should be proportional to the number of NA seats in the GNU. Power must be shared equitably. Anything else would be undermining the people's will.
