As a woman with autism and ADHD. Some peers in my school confused The difference between autism and down syndrome. Which I find it really hurting cuz I believe people need to be educated on the differences between down syndrome and autism.
The problem with school is that they expect for students to all learn the same exact way but everyone's brain works far differently from each other, I barely had any help with teachers thinking im kina dumb or "problems with my memory".
As an Autisic 16yo, there are times when I struggle with learning, but also times when I find my interests in things I gain and learn those things easier than others. Autism doesn't stop you from being functional and smart.
I saw it and got frustrated by something..... Tessa shouldn't have known Heavenly had a disability unless the school is in the wrong and believes that everyone should know everything about everyone.
As a girl with autism, I'm absolutely thrilled to share my passion for coding, computers, and math! Math is my favorite, and I excel at it while spreading kindness along the way. Sometimes I can be a bit shy, but when someone needs help, I’m always ready to jump in! 😊😊😊 Being on “the spectrum” doesn’t hold me back-in fact, I think it’s amazing! Balancing my autism with honors math is truly epic and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
After I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD in elementary school, teachers stopped putting me in the advanced reading groups, tried to have someone read my assignments out loud to me, and forced me to do extra work to “improve my reading skills” even though I could read at a high school level in 5th grade and every assessment I took said I was highly advanced in reading. Amazing how even teachers would rather believe their preconceived notions about autistics instead of what they actually see.
@@_creamy_cloud.x Autism, or ASD, is a neurological and developmental condition that affects communication, learning, and behavior. It has a wide spectrum and can affect people in many different ways.
As a person with autism, I can confirm that, ADHD, ADD, Autism, Down syndrome and dyslexia are WAAAAAAAAY different from one another. My friend, who has ADHD, also can confirm this.
“ADD” is now classified as ADHD-PI, they’re part of the same disorder, i think Autism and ADHD are more accurately two sides of the same coin, some researchers think they might actually be part of the same disorder
I know I don’t have autism, but I have respect for those who have Autism. thanks dhar for the added awareness in girls. as an autistic girl myself, theres little to no representation of it in movies, shows, etc. so again thank you because its quite rare!!
id just like to point out, not everyone with autism has super high intelligence. sorry but the life lesson should be to treat autistic kids right, cuz they people, not cuz they ultra smart
Ok but extreme amazement that Tessa has a superpower. The ability to tell who is on the spectrum simply by looking at them. Remember guys. When youve met one person with autism... youve met one person with autism. Just like everyone else they are all different with different talents and weaknesses so never ever assume that you know what a person cam do based by where they are on the spectrum.
Everyone should be treated equally! No matter what race, religion, or disability status! This is 2023, not 1952! Love from Florida, East Coast, United States! :)
While it's nice to see a rare depiction of a Black autistic girl (having been one myself), I really wish the message of these was "autistic people and other disabled people are human beings worthy of respect" instead of "be nice to disabled people because maybe they can benefit you in some way." Because guess what? Some autistic people aren't good with math! I'm proof of that! We're still people just like everyone else, even if we can't all be the Rain Man for our neurotypical friends. I need caffeine.
AS AN AUTISTIC PERSON, BEING AUTISTIC DOESN’T CHANGE YOU AS A PERSON, YOU ARE JUST LIKE EVERYONE, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU STRUGGLE TO COPE IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS (NOISY PLACES)
Not only noisy places but you worded this better than I ever could've, and before anyone possibly jumps to any conclusions I was diagnosed autistic a few years ago
This was an awesome vid The funny thing for me is when he said “It was simple actually” at 6:11 and said the same thing at 6:49 lol, this was an awesome vid
I used to have an autistic friend in childhood. I can confidently say he was much smarter than me even though i was not autistic. His brain could do stuff we could never do, he could also calculate the day on any date of any year or month. Only drawback was he used to get a little violent at times but it was not serious
The fact that you tried to mitigate one stereotype while managing to perpetuate another one at the same time is honestly impressive and appalling simultaneously
I have autism its not to be ashamed of it a special thing through life. You may be smart or inquisitive but you will always have people to stand up for u. You have hope we can make a stand up for all autistic people
It's rather concerning how you depict autism as a superpower, utilizing it as a plot point to alter her mindset, instead of acknowledging autistic individuals as human beings deserving of equal treatment. I hope this doesn't reflect your perspective on people with autism, but considering the recurring theme in most of your videos, it appears to be.
Exactly, they always make autism look like a superpower when it’s not, it’s not something to be made fun of but it’s also not an advantage. I know there’s a thing called savant syndrome but not all autistic have it, in fact it’s very rare and it doesn’t make you good at EVERYTHING, just a certain part. You should accept autistics but you also shouldn’t make it look like autism makes you become einstein
I'm a funny little guy [or what I'm told] with autism ever since I was born. ❤ I've been bullied because of it before, though the person learned a lesson and we become friends! I've had enough about bullies treating people like this, so if you ever see it happen just do something about it.
There's a boy in my math class with autism. He gets bullied, but not to his face. Behind his back. He's really smart and we were paired up together for a math sheet we had to do. He helped me with stuff i couldn't figure out. I'm blind in one eye and that eye is lazy so i'm made fun of for it, but he called it cool and he's never seen something like that before. It really made my day. I am a person who WILL NOT stand up for bullying. Just because somebody acts differently, doesn't make them any less of a human with a heart and feelings. No matter what race, religion, disability, or interests somebody has, shouldn't give you the right to treat them any less than what you treat others. THEY HAVE FEELINGS! Stand up for those who're bullied, and don't be the bully. As my principal always says, "Be a buddy, not a bully."
The real dumb one is Tessa, Ik it’s just a story but it made me so annoyed when the two girls tried to put popsicles and make them stand without a base😂
6:18 My friend has autism and she’s really really lively and smart. I feel really bad when people treat her different…..especially since she spent most of her life abroad. Great video ❤
I did customer service for kids with autism in a baseball team. They were so excited and eager to get their shaved ice & kicking the truck 🙈 I was still preparing and had completely forgotten what kind of event I was serving. Once I realized I completely changed my mindset and found my patience again. They were very sweet kids and full of compliments ♥️
This never happened to me. But if it did, I wouldn’t let them treat me like a nobody! I have autism and the bully’s behaviour is already abysmal. We are not slow! We just learn differently.
Girl me too!! I’ve been bullied but not this bad! I wouldn’t be who I am without autism or God! We need to stick up for each other! We aren’t alone. I get so excited to meet people who relate to me!
Thank you for showing how we can be just as intelligent as people who are not neurodivergent. I’m always seeing Autism being shown with people doing a lot more stimming, or are higher needs. I’m so glad they are showing that we are all not doing the same thing. However no matter where you are on the spectrum you deserve respect . To all my fellow Autistics, don’t let anyone tell you who you are and what you can and can’t do.
I know that feeling, because I went swimming to do my daily exercise, the popular girls laughed at me and makes fat jokes about me, I told them to leave me alone, but this girl called me a weird, disgusting, ugly, autistic ogre. They laughed at me, and I outburst crying, and they told me to get out of the pool, That was the worst day of my life. But this video will understand popular girls to learn their lesson not to make fun of autistic kids.
@@john_233nobody said they were and just because they made that comment doesn’t mean they’ve never met someone with autism, yes autistic kids can be EXTREMELY intelligent and that’s their point. having autism doesn’t stop you, it’s your own fascination to learn

As an Autisic 16yo, there are times when I struggle with learning, but also times when I find my interests in things I gain and learn those things easier than others. Autism doesn't stop you from being functional and smart.
You have expressed your experience and opinion very clearly and you are educated AND SMART PERSON.
As an autistic 16yo it can definitely stop you from functioning too but j get what youre saying
hey, i'm also 16yo. i turn 17 next month!:) pretty sure i have autism lololol but it's okay ❤
I Hope someone with Autism sees this and knows that they are loved and that they matter too. Spread awareness and show love to everyone.❤
I have autism ♥
Amen ❤
I might have it, my parents say it… so no one knows about it 😅
I saw it and got frustrated by something..... Tessa shouldn't have known Heavenly had a disability unless the school is in the wrong and believes that everyone should know everything about everyone.
I have autism and thank you. I really needed this right now 💜
Tessa: WHY WONT MY WALLET STAND😡😡

Just because someone has autism doesn’t mean you treat them bad, treat everyone equally (:
For sure! :)

Same here I have autistic
Always treat people how u want to be treated
As a person with autism like myself, sometimes people think I'm not great at anything, but I always do amazing stuff in life.
I love how they turn out to be father, and daughter!! Never expected it ❤
After I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD in elementary school, teachers stopped putting me in the advanced reading groups, tried to have someone read my assignments out loud to me, and forced me to do extra work to “improve my reading skills” even though I could read at a high school level in 5th grade and every assessment I took said I was highly advanced in reading. Amazing how even teachers would rather believe their preconceived notions about autistics instead of what they actually see.
Same, Ive always been good at reading luckely teachers never underestemated me
What is autism
@@_creamy_cloud.x Autism, or ASD, is a neurological and developmental condition that affects communication, learning, and behavior. It has a wide spectrum and can affect people in many different ways.
As a person with autism, I can confirm that, ADHD, ADD, Autism, Down syndrome and dyslexia are WAAAAAAAAY different from one another. My friend, who has ADHD, also can confirm this.
So true
Fr bro
AIDS too, totally different
Well ADHD and ADD are kind of two sides of the same coin.
“ADD” is now classified as ADHD-PI, they’re part of the same disorder, i think Autism and ADHD are more accurately two sides of the same coin, some researchers think they might actually be part of the same disorder
I have ADHD and Autism, and I’ve been bullied too. Luckily I have a small friend group who accepts me for who I am! 🥰
❤
Same with me I have both autism and ADHD
@@FelicityVannoy Same here
I might I’m getting a disorder test soon
How do you have ADHD and autism
I know I don’t have autism, but I have respect for those who have Autism. I got bullied in school because I have a learning disability, but what I learned is just because you have a learning disability it does not mean that you are not smart, you are still smart and you can be anything you want in life as long as you put your mind to it.
Truth be told
Just because you call yourself smart doesn't mean you are smart. Prove it.
Hi Anaya, I also had learning disablelities and skeletal dyphlasia.. Which in school it really hard for me especially in math class, the teacher always pick me just to humiliate me infront of others which is hurt so much.. But am glad for having supportive friends.. They all didn't bully me and they would be worried sick if I was walking behind them like if there any bad happen to me😅although i had learning disablelities but i manage goes to Science class which even harder for me to study and focus😫
I can get wings... i put my mind to it🤓🤓🤓

Wow I remember being bullied in school it’s horrible we should always choose kindness
Do unto others as you want them to do unto you ❤✝️

thanks dhar for the added awareness in girls. as an autistic girl myself, theres little to no representation of it in movies, shows, etc. so again thank you because its quite rare!!

@@sushmamallineni697 why you laughing?
yall literally have tons of representation idk what u on rn
id just like to point out, not everyone with autism has super high intelligence. sorry but the life lesson should be to treat autistic kids right, cuz they people, not cuz they ultra smart

Fr
True that😊
Im going to florida in 4 days!
It’s 1952 in my eyes
While it's nice to see a rare depiction of a Black autistic girl (having been one myself), I really wish the message of these was "autistic people and other disabled people are human beings worthy of respect" instead of "be nice to disabled people because maybe they can benefit you in some way." Because guess what? Some autistic people aren't good with math! I'm proof of that! We're still people just like everyone else, even if we can't all be the Rain Man for our neurotypical friends.
I need caffeine.
Yeah, I wish so too, and im terrible at maths!!
Fr!! I'm an autistic woc and I'm terrible at maths lol, i prefer art, literature and music :]
AS AN AUTISTIC PERSON, BEING AUTISTIC DOESN’T CHANGE YOU AS A PERSON, YOU ARE JUST LIKE EVERYONE, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU STRUGGLE TO COPE IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS (NOISY PLACES)

I used to have an autistic friend in childhood. I can confidently say he was much smarter than me even though i was not autistic. His brain could do stuff we could never do, he could also calculate the day on any date of any year or month. Only drawback was he used to get a little violent at times but it was not serious
It’s true! I have some friends on the spectrum who can do complex math problems mentally in a matter of seconds. Really impressive!

Yeah, in an attempt to be "accepting" hes just being horribly abelist and spreading harmful info
3:35 even her friend is shocked by what she said!
I'm a funny little guy [or what I'm told] with autism ever since I was born. ❤
I've been bullied because of it before, though the person learned a lesson and we become friends!
I've had enough about bullies treating people like this, so if you ever see it happen just do something about it.
Agreed! ❤️💪
Cool
What if I’m the bully?
No thank you!
@@Hitlerlover92 it’s simple! What you give, you will get …..eventually!! Be sure!!
I have autism and I think it is amazing to spread awareness of how smart and kind we can be.
I am sorry for bothering you, but I would like to be better aware, what signs of autism do you have?
