thanks glad you like it, luckily it didnt cost me much most of the track and controller i already had from my dads previous garden railway and all the rolling stock was collected over the years, i just had to buy a few bits and pieces as i went along, dont feel you need to spend a fortune if its something you want to do, always look out for 2nd hand bargains and buy bits and pieces as they become available at affordable price and store them away it doesnt take long to build up enough stuff to start a layout, thanks for watching, Tom
Hi it looks great and a lovely setting for a garden railway, you will be able to sit back and watch the trains with a glass of wine on the summer evenings.
Nice layout you have! I too have a smaller layout in my yard. Sometimes less is more, especially in climates such as in my area (Wisconsin). The elements tend to take their toll on garden railroads, so smaller is much easier to maintain! I think it's more about the details that you put into it that makes it more interesting to look at. Did you give any thought on ballasting your track? I did mine after a couple of years, and it really helped in the appearance department! Simple enough to do, and fun as well.
Hi Mike thanks, i agree its certainly alot easier to maintain and i can control all the points by hand while sitting next to the pond, i was thinking of ballasting but am going to leave for this year incase i change the track plan or expand the layout slightly, cheers Tom
You're making good progress with the garden railway. Found the preparation and concreting of the station platform inspirational. I don't think it'll be too long before you extend the line.....
Hi Paul thanks glad you like it, ive got some building kits for the station so will hopefully have the station done soon and regarding extending the line it maybe possible in the future but its a very steep incline towards the back of the garden so well have to see
I look forward to seeing further developments. The steep incline at the back will have to have a cutting, viaduct, tunnel...…………… Just remember George Stephenson and Isambard Kingdom Brunel didn't let the lay of the land get in their way :-)
cheers al its coming on nicely just bought myself another loco so will feature that soon, and resiting the urge to extend the line more lol, ive got a couple of resin buildings to finish building aswel one for the station and one to hide the pond filter
i was looking at it the other day any i am going to have to lift some of the track for some wood treatment but overall its still pretty good, i did do it all with left over timber while i was of work jouring the lockdown here in the uk so i basically used what i already had as builders yards were either closed really busy or didnt have anything in stock, thanks for watching. Tom
Hello there Nordip :-). Its Foxy speaking and excellent video Nordip :-). What a lovely model railway in your garden :-). Really really nice :-). Its well built I must say and I see you've taken a great deal of your time in its construction. You really did impress me to see how you did it on your own. I hope you were ok with making your model railway on your own Nordip and I hope all is well for you? :-). Have a nice evening and take care of yourself Nordip :-). From your friend Foxy :-).

Nice. But it seems to me you have better climate than we in Holland. Wood doesn't survive long here....

Well, never a dull moment with a garden railway! There is always work to do and with the lock down is that a good thing, is't it? Best, Martin
