I was lucky enough to get a ride in a two-holer Pietenpol back in the early '70's. It was powered by a VW bug engine, which was a bit disturbing, but was good enough to get an FAA stamp of approval for the owner/pilot. I'm pretty sure it was the slowest thing I've ever flown in, but a great ride with a fantastic view.
Without doubt it's one of the most beautiful planes. It has gnomon :-)) I think there are none in Spain, but I got to see one up close in Germany, not long ago. I would have liked to pilot it, but it was not possible. Someone should redesign it using current advanced materials. Don't you believe it?. I would not want this magnificent design to be missed. My congratulations to all the owners of "Air Camper". A very cool video !.
