By far my favorite classic quest chain has to be the Gammerita quest chain. I think it starts in teldrassil at like level 49 and sends you to literally every corner of the world for the goofiest reasons.
I love the quests that no one seems to find: The Murloc quests in Eversong, the Orgrimmar Scorpid Poison, Sarkoth and Canvas Bag Quests in Durotar, and the letter to Yvette from Tirisfal. It's good that more people are doing them now due to addons pointing them out, but I used to feel so cool for discovering these quests that no one else seemed to know about.
Night Elves in Warcraft 3 were just the coolest. Really badass, murderous warrior women. It's honestly interesting to see how WoW very quickly made them a lot more "cutesy", for what I assume is mass appeal.
@@Purriah I just think they came off as less bouncy and lilty-voiced, less "glamorous", etc. in WC3, where they were more like these hardened guerrilla fighters with murderous intent. The voice lines of the archer, the huntress and priestess of the moon are all pretty aggressive.
Apparently she’s not the only NPC to use Warcraft 3 voicelines. I believe there’s also a druid guy walking down the road from darkshore to Auberdine that you have to escort; I’ve seen him a couple of times during my travels. I’ve been wondering about the reason behind this. To my knowledge these two and the mortar dwarves from Dun Morogh are the only npcs to use these voicelines. Would be really cool if we had more npcs that would audibly speak whenever something happens, not just when being clicked on.
Genuinely fascinating video. Since I played with RXP myself I always found it interesting to think which quests it has you do. 99% of addon users don't pay any attention to the quests, but I do, and sometimes it has you do the most random and specific parts of a zone's story, very rarely including one-offs that are just kind of on the way and never meant anything to regualr players
Interesting that you know what 99% of addon users (98% of all players) pay attention to. Wouldn’t it stand to reason that having to actually pick which quests to do or not would = paying more attention?
Hi Jedi! I love off-the-path quests like this, and if I was in charge of WoW 2, I'd include a ton. But short of banning all addons and preventing all datamining, I don't know how I'd prevent players from finding them all trivially.
I do wish there were some hidden quests that didn't show up in Questie. I just had to start using it because I got tired of missing stuff or farming the wrong mobs. The only other one I really use is Bartender4 so I can tidy up my UI.
Classic WoW was less about giving Breadcrumb quests and more about "exploring". Burning Crusade got very heavy with those Breadcrumb quests and I think it was Wrath that had the problem of the "Christmas Tree Lights" quests when arriving at a location following a Breadcrumb quest where there were times you'd have so many quest markers lighting up the screen this it was sometimes too many for your limited quest log.
Haha, this was especially true for the daily quests! If you wanted to just grind a couple blue quests in say Grizzly Hills before hitting 80 you could quickly run out of room if you had a bunch of those quests you were holding onto. :)
Her quest is a nice little XP boost for when you are doing the quest to escort Kerlonian down to Ashenvale, given how far south in the zone she is I do wish her quest was a little bit higher level though.
Damn. My first character was a Nelf Hunter I got to around 27 before switching to a Nelf Druid which is still my main today, so having gone through Darkshore at least twice in vanilla (and a couple of times more before Cata revamp) and not once seeing this quest, it kind of saddens me to hear that a bunch of people are now doing the quest because addons are leading them to it. Really kills the spirit of discovery and what vanilla was all about. But then again I'd never know about this unless you told me so maybe it's not that big of a deal lol.
@@Purriah Yes I would, as long as it's done right. In a better design, you'd create a game world where players naturally find these hidden spots without the need for external help. A cheap way is through bread crumbs, leading a player there through tugging their leash towards it via other quests/etc, but a smarter way is to design notable landmarks that will draw a player to the location. A great example of this is the lighthouse in Westfall, which leads to a quest chain. With this NPC, however, there's no distinguishable features that surround the small enclave she's waiting in.
Tbh, i wish addons wouldve been banned at the start of WoW, or at least had a lot more restrictions on what they could effect. We are just today getting a true stance against addons with blizzard banning GDKP in SoD. If everyone played the game without questie, they would enjoy a much more alive and social world than what they do today. SoD is literally exciting to people because you get to find new stuff... well... stop using quest addons and youll discover new stuff all the time! props to you for staying addon free JediWarlock. I played for the first few years without ever using them; but when literally every other player uses the addons you basically have to or look like an idiot. (or just get told to download the addon)
That has nothing to do with addons. Questie has nothing to do with anything. People would just sick of people asking stuff they could easily google. If you want a sense of community and people questing together and helping each other then play hardcore.
Not to mention the amount of potential players scared (or bored) away by being told "you have to download x and y and z and then set it up like this etc etc ", when really they just wanted to play a videogame and learn by playing

I love the Linken quest line in Ungoro.
@@wazowski1089Best trinket for paladins!
It's a great one!! :D Having to take a photo of the turtle with a camera is honestly so unique haha
And Horde just gets a straightforward quest from a nearby village to kill it 😅

I agree! Those are all great examples of hidden quests ;)
Here I was thinking everyone knew about the Eversong Murloc quests and the Sarkoth quests in Valley of Trials...
I just found this quest a couple of months ago on Hardcore and have been playing from day one.
Isn't it amazing that we can find new stuff even after all this time? :D
Night Elves in Warcraft 3 were just the coolest. Really badass, murderous warrior women. It's honestly interesting to see how WoW very quickly made them a lot more "cutesy", for what I assume is mass appeal.
They’re still the same night elves. They just have better graphics.

SO TRUE! If you compare the Warcraft 3 elf music to Ashenvale or Teldrassil there is a substantial difference!

It's been a while since I last played, but I think peasants chopping wood in Westfall also have WC3 voices.
@@donilock1930correct. So do the peons in the orc starting area, the valley of trials.
Interesting! I'll have to investigate those :D
That's crazy. I've been playing since TBC and I'm just learning about this now.
There are always new things to find if you look hard enough! ;)
I've been playing since 2004 and I stumbled upon this quest for the first time while playing SOD. I don't have a quest addon.
Welcome back Jedi. Also, I’d love to see more of the hidden quests around Azeroth if you planned to do more.
More in the future for sure! :D

I think this is definitely one of those one-off type of quests since it's on the way to Ashenvale already :)
Very intresting! Good story telling, good footage, clever use of sources. I wonder how many other lost quests, there are out there.
Thanks so much! :)

Agreed! I hope SoD includes some more secret things like the Sleeping Bag in Phase 2 as we go further into the season. :)
Odd how it is a quest “Everyone has done,” yet is an alliance only quest.
Haha, I'll admit it, I'm definitely showing my Alliance bias with that one!
This quest stood out to me while leveling in SOD as I had never done it before. But thanks to Questie I was able to locate it on the minimap.
Questie sure helps finding those out-of-the-way ones :D
Joana’s leveling guide takes you to this quest.
That's good to know! :D
I’ve never stumbled upon this quest, wow😊 nice video Jedi
Thanks! :)
I remember finding this quest on my own in 2004 & thinking, "well that seems like it shouldn't have been there".
Totally out of place, right! XD
I found this quest recently when I was levelling in Darkshore
Nice! :)

AddOns can definitely be helpful! Keeping the UI tidy is important haha, my bags are always so haphazard XD
Oy! I got a shout-out From Jedi. Met you in game at the ashenvale event at the east camp. -Thermopole

Yeah it was definitely wrath. Borean tundra, fjord, and dragonblight all had that issue,

I've done A LOT of quests in classic that I didn't even know existed before thanks to addons.

True!! She seems out of place so far south.
have you managed to figure out where that purple gate in a hole in blackrock spire is supposed to lead?
It leads through the gate
I have not yet! I will have to investigate ;)

This is so weird. You’d rather most people just completely miss it than have it show up on their map due to questie? What kind of weird logic is that?
