Thank you for taking time out and spreading your knowledge, we would love to see more of your videos on this subject. It will help the techs a lot, you are a very good teacher, salute.
At minute 3:09, you could have saved several steps by merely hitting the meter button at top left. That opens up to full screen. Also you could minimize that screen, go back to scanner, turn on or off the sensor your hooked up to. Maximize scope, and watch it live. On split screens.
This is exactly what is needed, as scope setup to get meaningful information seems to be the primary hurdle for techs, myself included. Thanks for helping with this! Al H.
I love my ATS I might be bias being a distributor but it’s just an amazing tool. Deep record is amazing. I own pico & a Zeus as well however the misfire testing, connect detect, multimeter and so so much more make the Ats amazing. Plus drives 4 transducers, and also as the annotation right on the scope.
You're absolutely right I recommend everyone have a DSO of some sort and if need be spend a little time and play with it you will learn more if you play with it and then generate problems on your own so you can understand how well it works 👍
Great start to the first of a couple! I enjoyed this video and look forward to all the new ones to come. These will definitely be going into the "Watch later" folder.
12:40 definitely!! Can we get videos on this! I’m trying to do the same thing with my Triton D-10. Getting the setup instructions from there and what a good pattern should look like and try to set it up on the pico scope from work. I love my Triton but the pico with 4 channels is a little nicer to use. Can see more. Hoping to get the ATS 8 channel scope soon. Watching Professor use it sold me!
Yes, absolutely put some more videos together using Zeus next to the ATS scope. I have both but use the ATS scope more. Of course when you have time. By the way how you guys holding up with that storm up there I'm in Central Florida and it just dump about 16 inches of rain in one day on us over the weekend.
I learned on the Modus so Snap-On scopes/scanners are very familiar with me but that guided component tester and the snap-on trouble shooter in the scanner portion are invaluable. It was the main reason why I chose to buy my Verus. but I"d love to have a Pico or an ATS scope or their scanner.
Got to pay attention to the particular scope, some time and voltage settings are per division not screen. Also when I first started I used the 10 /10 rule (10 ms 10 mv ) per division. As you become familiar you can set up closer but this gets you in the ballpark
Would love to see this... it would be cool to see a bad crank sensor or maybe a cam sensor.... even a wheel speed sensor if thats a possibility as they are more connon to fail... to see the set up,preparing, diagnosis and fix is something i would like to see awesome stuff
I’m interested in all the scope stuff you can show. Kind of wish you guys used launch software as that’s what I use. More ways I can learn to do something the better off I’ll be.
Man oh man you can keep me going all day also using the scope what the concept of noise is on a pattern and whether or not it's important to worry about it?
Thanks Sherwood , been learning about scopes from your vid, can you Recommend a inexpensive starting scope for beginners like me , just a DIYer, thanks..
Yeah. Would like to see the basics of setting up a scope to a signal. Is there a PDF or good internet site showing all kind of signals at a car how they have to look like? I know some of them of your videos but I would like to collect them for future...
I had a uscope and in 22 Christmas day someone broke into my truck and stole it along with my Dewalt tools and other tools, hoping to win the giveaway but I think there should be at least three winners to win different prizes instead of one winning all. Thanks for the knowledge
You can only trigger off of one channel. The other channels will "line up" wherever they are in relation to the triggered channel. Hope this helps. As @keltecshooter said - Practice, practice, practice. Have fun with it. You can't hurt anything by changing settings in the scope.
So hoping to win the giveaway that would be awesome. Whoever wins will sure be blessed for sure. Thanks for the videos always enjoy them very knowledgeable and you are a great teacher thanks for sharing. My favorite channel by far keep them coming.
thanks so much one other thing that would be nice when you are doing a diag using the scope each time you check something tell us the settings you are using. i really struggle with the scope mainly because most of the work i do is cut and dried but scanner danner told me doesn't matter hook up the scope anyway to get better guess just need to listen thanks for the video
I would like to see a pattern done on both and how to get the pattern correct so it makes sense. After that it would be good to know how to interpret various patterns. For me when I see a pattern I know it does not look the same as the known good but I don't know what the wrong pattern indicates. A good example is an ignition pattern. If you see this or that it means it has a bad valve. You guys that eat, drink and breath scope analysis make it look easy. To me it all looks like squiggly lines.

Even before the DSO I used an analog tektronix scope as my lab SCOPE along with a full-blown SUN scope for ignition patterns😊

more videos of theses are great for techs! I would love to see more videos like this. Great job, keep up the work
Thank you. I own both and it’s nice to have another source of information on these amazing tools. ❤❤
Awesome, thanks for the support..

Good tips. I used do the same when I started scoping I used the Zeues guided tests on snap on and used the same setting on the pico
Great timing on this drop! Getting dumped on by Debby. Perfect opportunity to learn more about setting up these scopes!
Have that scanner been using scopes since the 80s when i started sun scope you are very smart Sir great stuff

Yes please do a video on a vehicle, love your work

I love the videos I am trying to learn how to use my own scope and the information is very much appreciated 👍
Good to see ya❤

Thanks Sherwood , been learning about scopes from your vid, can you Recommend a inexpensive starting scope for beginners like me , just a DIYer, thanks..
Yes I want to see
Would be good for a technical video but for beginners wanting to learn i know i would watch that
You guys should do triggers next!
I'm from the old school I start with the 20 /20 rule to start with😊
Good content 💯
Excellent
I would definitely like to see a video of both scopes in action side by side.
Yeah. Would like to see the basics of setting up a scope to a signal. Is there a PDF or good internet site showing all kind of signals at a car how they have to look like? I know some of them of your videos but I would like to collect them for future...
Will the next episode entail syncing patterns such as a crank and cam ⁉️
thanks

Yes please, live on a vehicle would be great. Thank you so much.
When setting up two channels do you put trigger on both channels or does the second channel trigger off the first one?
U only use one channel for trigger, the other channels will display accordingly.
Practice, practice, practice !!

So my question is. What if you can only have a 2 channel oscilloscope? I purchased a pocket one for electronics repairs.
So hoping to win the giveaway that would be awesome. Whoever wins will sure be blessed for sure. Thanks for the videos always enjoy them very knowledgeable and you are a great teacher thanks for sharing. My favorite channel by far keep them coming.

Yes hook to crank signal ford escape 17
Can you show us on Pico Scope also?
I want more.!

I would next time
My number one weakness . I even tried that a few times but with no major success . My only hope is the fact that i am not a quitter.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🇵🇪
This stuff is way beyond me, because I don't have a scope. Hopefully the drawing will cure that!!!
Could you loan me that Zeus? Appreciate it Unc
Ats vs snapon ..there is no comparison. As far as being able to manipulation of the waveform .
Any chance to learn something on a scope is a good thing!
