- Wekapo sent me two of their beach tents to try out and show. In this video, I grabbed one of them from my Jeep and set it up for the first time.

More beach tent manufacturers need to follow their lead and make larger sand anchors. Very impressed they didn't scoot in with all that wind!

Has anyone ever tried using a tripod post setup for each corner? I'm sure that its a lot more material, and thus more costly to produce. But I would think it'd make the poles so much sturdier in the wind. The main thing that has me worried about some of these tent designs is just how much I see these poles flexing. I'm wanting to purchase one of these tents for the huge shaded areas they provide, because my family is so large now. But the thought of one of those poles snapping with little ones around is really not something I can see myself risking.
Great job on the video! I suggest that you can wrap the rope in the groove one more round and tighten it up so that the bungee cord won't pop out. Can't wait for more comparison video!

Oh man I love my neso but seeing how well the wekapo did in the wind makes me question my purchase haha! This video felt different but after watching it a few times i realized it was missing the music haha still loved it!!
Yeah! I thought I'd try it without the tunes. I still love my Neso too. I'm going to give the Wekapo a water resistance test this afternoon.

When is the comparison videos for this coming out?
Unfortunately, it won't be soon. I've shot the Neso Gigante and the large Wekapo portion of the review, and now I need to shoot the Grande and medium Wekapo together. To do this, I need a lovely sunny day with enough space on the beach to set them up side-by-side.
How does the Wekapo hood up against the mist and water test?
Great question! That will be in the comparison video that I'm currently working on. I have yet to give the Wekapo my backyard mist test.
is the fabric on this like the neso or like the sun ninja? I remember you saying the sun ninja had more 'stretch' than the neso so i'm curious about the wakepo fabric
The fabric is spandex, so it's more like the Sun Ninja.

Have you ever tried anchoring the poles with a post holder augured into the sand to keep them sturdy with this type of set up? If so, what were the results?

@@BeachGearGuy The video you have linked is the same video as this. However, I was asking if you've ever anchored the poles themselves (notice how they shake in this video while the anchors themselves do not move.) You likely have not. I don't think many (if any) people have so I'm thinking of experimenting with the idea this summer. Might make for a good video if you want to beat me to the punch.
Oops. Anyway, thanks for the question BooMan. I likely have anchored the poles. The Red Suricata beach canopy comes with pole anchors. I’ve used them a few times and they did cut down on the shaking by a little bit, but not much. They were cumbersome to set up and I found they’re just not worth using.

@@chad-122 The WEKAPO beach tent comes in three sizes, all designed for easy portability. The 8x8ft weighs only 12 pounds, the 9x10ft is under 14 pounds, and the spacious 11x11ft comes in at just around 15 pounds.
