  • I ventured out to Carrizo Plain National Monument to witness the annual wildflower superbloom for the first time. The endless yellow blanket of flowers sprawled for miles across the plains until it met the robust Temblor Range mountains, where hillside daisies crawled up the slopes. The San Luis Obispo area is a very remote spot located about 3 hours north of Los Angeles. Since the area is so remote, we camped at a nearby Airbnb, gazed up at the stars usually unseen due to city lights, and warmed up by the fire with some experimental campfire snacks. Maybe one day we'll share our top-secret s'mores recipe, but in the meantime, here's a recap of the Wildflower Superblooms, April 2024. Drop a comment if you want to steal my itinerary!
