What a beautiful video! We live near enough the Carrizo Plains to make a day-trip there every year or two; if you can go during a bloom it truly is bucket-list worthy but it is interesting any time of year though you probably always want to be mindful of the weather before deciding to go, whether because of rain or heat.

I have been camping out there for 30 years and I have a secret spot that nobody can find and nobody has ever seen me or ever camped at my campsite because I leave little things behind to check. While I am not supposed to, I ride an electric mountain bike and explore cross country and it is an absolute blast. The Elkhorn grade road is the best way to come in if you have a vehicle that can handle it. My best accomplishment is getting pictures of about 20 tule elk including the bull. There are also pronghorn antelope out there as well. I believe this is the southern most extreme for elk in California.

The Elkhorn grade road is at the bottom right? There is a little parking spot there I see. Is it safe to park there? Most people go to the top part where the monument is and start biking from there but the bottom part seems better.
I plan on biking either a gravel bike or a pedal assist electric bike.
How much water do I need. GPS etc?
      Thanks for your help.

@@osint6372 I don't know what you mean by bottom, I come in from Highway 166 near the Purina kitty litter plant. Look it up on Google Earth. If you're coming in from the other side, hwy 58, I wouldn't leave your car sitting around over there. The further away from the highway the better as not many tweakers are going to venture out onto the dirt roads. I would bring a ton of water as you will not find any out there on that road. I have been out there where I haven't seen a single person for days on end. Unless it is wildflower season. You will not find any shade anywhere. It is incredibly peaceful and beautiful though.

Hoy me subscribí a tu canal. Felicidades
