    Graduating from Bryce’s last class of 2022 is the best investment I have made. At 65 and nearing retirement I was looking for a hobby and Golf didn’t appeal to me, so I chose Long Range Shooting. Bryce took me and a budget RPR ,308 out to 1200 yards in 2 days. Exhilarating and much better than golf. It took my gained knowledge home and honed my skills. Ready for more, I ordered a new set of clubs from Bryce, a complete MasterPiece Arms BA Comp. Can’t wait for the his upcoming Intermediate Class and 1 Mile in 2023.

    I’ve heard that you have to come with at least a $10K rifle set up to take this class. Is this true ?

      @LongRangeShootersofUtah  Рік тому +2

      Absolutely not, half of our rental rifles are factory Tikkas and one is a Ruger precision rifle with vortex pst scopes. The trick is, the lower the budget the more careful you need to be about what you buy in order to ensure that it can achieve adequate precision. For example, 243 outdoors came out to our international milk jug challenge a few years ago with a $400 Ruger American that he bedded and add a cheekpiece to. He topped it with a $700 Sightron scope and took home 3 out of 4 golden jugs. But he wasn’t lucky, he did his research and knew that Rugers and Tikka have better barrels and better quality control than many brands that are far more expensive. He was careful and deliberate about his choices and did some work (bedding and stiffening the stock) to help maximize the rifles potential and hand loaded ammo to ensure the best groups.
      We make it very clear what the equipment requirements are for the course and like all other courses there is nothing said about needing a custom rifle at all, just that your rifle & ammo needs to be able to shoot a 5 shot group that is 1 moa or better.

    Surely a Savage 110 Elite Precision chambered 300PRC w/ MDT Rings, Leupold Mk5, MDT Bipod, and Banish 338 Suppressor would be enough for this class?

      I’m not privy to what options are available in MI but I can say we’ve had a bunch of students from Michigan travel out for the class. You can definitely shoot a mile here.

      "In" Michigan. No. (I don't even know of 1kyd ranges in the state) There is a 1,000yrd range just outside of Michigan in very northern part of Indiana. It is a membership range though.

    Is 1 mile the farthest yall have to shoot? Or just you school shoots out to 1760 yards?

    • @LongRangeShootersofUtah
      @LongRangeShootersofUtah  Рік тому

      The range is setup to shoot out to a mile any given day but you can shoot farther under special circumstances and with permission from the range officer. For example, our 2000 yard milk jug challenge where we have to close some roads on the range.

      All students have the opportunity to shoot out to a mile and attempt all of our milk jug challenges except for 2000 yards.
