I wouldn't worry that much. When the Bears got Montez Sweat & their new DC Eberflus was too busy to meddle as much in the offense & Getsy took over. What A Coincidence, the Bears' offense had another great streak.
Not as impressive as leading the entire NFL in offensive production for 3 weeks straight with Mooney & Claypool as your best receiving options, but still great.
Getsy is gone. What plays do we get instead of his when micro-manager Eberflus meddles where he has no business meddling?
I don't think PFF grades o-lines on blocks they don't even attempt because if they did there is no way the Bears wouldn't be last. If anyone wants I can link one typical video & ask "how many times does the o-line allow pass-rushers through *untouched* to the QB?" It'd make a great drinking game.
Then there was the command to not pass to certain receivers on certain plays even if that receiver is the only one to get open. "They had to do that to simplify the offense for Fields?" _How_ tf does that _simplify_ anything? "Instead of just throwing to the open receiver, stop running away from defensive linesmen & read, remember if that jersey # belongs to someone we're allowing you _TO_ throw to on that play, then - - hey, why are you getting sacked?"
Because those plays can *_ONLY_*_ RESULT_ in sacks. Eberflus kept calling those plays for Over A Year! They killed all plays & most drives.
Getsy is gone. The guy who doesn't allow his OC autonomy & calls those plays designed to fail is still there. & Caleb ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html is no better than Fields at a single thing so things might get interesting in CHI. In my experience, micro-managers feel that every little detail *requires* their input. They take it as personal rejection if anyone tries to tell them to keep their hands off. So I don't expect that Eberflus will.

Caleb's ability to throw with anticipation is the one thing I've rarely if ever seen a Bears QB do and is what has me most excited to see next season. It was the one thing Fields never could do which really limited his ability as a passer.

    • @choosecarefully408
      @choosecarefully408 18 днів тому +1

Fields did that. In fact, when I started watching in '22 I was wondering wtf was going on with his receivers. They were dropping them all. Every slant. Fields would toss them to the prearranged place & they would stand there & watch the ball but Not Move To Catch It.
Eventually I went back to college & '21 highlight reels & what do you know? He did the same exact plays in college & his receivers there caught them. I had to keep looking at these reels because I have never seen a QB get as much unreasoning hate as Fields with comments always blaming him for things obviously not his fault. His receivers see the ball is out of reach but refuse to take any steps to make an effort to catch them = the QB's fault? Cripes by the end of last season D.J. Moore started slowing down before making catches thus missing them.

    • @choosecarefully408
      @choosecarefully408 12 днів тому

@@21stcenturyhiphop Not sure who "they" are, but it's expected. I read Eliot Aronson's "The Social Animal" some years ago & while the truths in there are ugly, I don't lie to myself. Most people are Franchise, not player-loyal. Why?
It's kinda like this: most people store all knowledge & belief in the same mental area. I call it the semi- or subconscious (SC for short) & this is the area that develops when we're at that age where we want all the answers _NOW_ but way before we develop the patience to accept them in the time it takes to figure them out.
This never leaves us. Everyone just thinks that "all MY beliefs are fact-based ergo anyone who disagrees with me MUST be wrong."
How can you possibly then take the time to examine your own "certainties?" The SC is where our emotional attachments are stored. If something you feel loyalty toward is questioned, this actually Feels Painful to the SC as if the feeling of Loyalty Itself is being torn out by the roots. Who can sustain a discomfort like that?
So people only react: fight or flight. So they react disproportionately. & since all loyalty feels like All Loyalty, they'll irrationally defend anything they feel loyal to without thinking.
We're loyal to how we view the NFL, then franchises, then coaches. It's hard to extend this to players as their careers are short & they can get traded etc.
So it's easy to foist blame onto a player. This will always appeal to the SC because it's still in the same state it was when it first started seeking answers. It wants them now. Figuring out what in the play-calling affects things takes time. Repeating empty rhetoric produces endorphins 1) because following what we think the cool, popular kids say does & 2) we can say it _NOW._ But once we _accept_ the rhetoric we *become loyal* to this.
For whatever reason, I could see this happen to people even in childhood & wanted no part of it. So when I don't have an answer now, I'm very patient about that.
For everyone else, reactions produce endorphins.
But just look at ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html & count how many times a pass is inaccurate in a way that allows the defense to make a play or should have done so. Fields does this twice by my count. Caleb, at least ten times.
In order for _ME_ to accept this, I had only to watch the footage proving it. For anyone else, it means having some sliver of their sense of loyalty (in the NFL, in media) questioned which to the SC feels like Loyalty Itself will cease to exist.
I've simply never been like that. I hadn't watched the NFL for years until '22 & the reason I returned is I found channels that at least attempt to analyze with no agenda. Two of my favorite channels have put all the blame squarely on Fields.
What am I gonna do, _cry_ about it? Others can be wrong & so can I. But for right now I have seen Matt Eberflus get treated as if people feel irrational levels of loyalty to him. They speak of his charisma. That's another one of those things that skews how people view things. For instance, remember how Bellichick reacted when Mac Jones sought help outside Matt Patricia? Now imagine Bill had said nothing.
We'd all be waiting for the axe to fall, right? We'd _know_ or strongly suspect that Bill was going to bench or trade Jones or both if he had said nothing.
Fields called "my coaches" out publicly twice. If you're the HC & want to win with this QB _OR_ want to defend your coaches you say something. Reprimand Justin for speaking publicly for one, this should be embarrassing.
      But _nothing? TWICE?_
That's *suspicious,* no? Well what happens to people who find the person or thing they're loyal to acting suspicious?
Their SC protects its sense of loyalty. So defending Justin means implicating The Franchise via the HC it decided on. Ergo people feel an urge to defend their loyalty which requires blaming Fields. Ah, the mental gymnastics people put themselves through.

I was such a big JF1 fan and it was sad it didn’t work out in Chi. But the biggest problem was JFs pocket presence. Caleb is everything JF was athletically but uses it to by time to throw instead of tucking and running. If Caleb is the passer everyone thinks he is I don’t think weve ever seen a QB like him before. Elite speed strong Strong arm good pocket presence and the ability to process the defense fast. The last two were the main problems with JF it’s like we just got an even better version of JF1 with basically 3 #1 wrs to throw to and a defense that really came into its own last year. Really think the Bears could be the Texans of last szn

Keenan will give his experience on technical route running.
Moore will offer his physicality and play break opportunities.

He’ll break 99% of all Bears rookie QB records before week 10. With the amount of receivers he has on offense, he has a really good shot at being the first Bears QB to throw for 4,000 yards and 30 TDs. DJ Moore & Keenan Allen alone are 1,000 yard receivers, based on 2023. Rome Odunze & Cole Kmet can both be 900 yard receivers. And DeAndre Swift is a receiving weapon out of the backfield. Those 5 pieces alone in the starting offense can get Caleb really close to 4,000 yards. That’s not even counting the backup receivers.

I'm going to stop you right here. This is college. DO NOT compare college to NFL. They are not the same. How many first round first pick QBs are actually either trash or go to bad teams that can't win. Pretty much all of them. Other then Stafford and peyton manning. Name 1 first round 1st pick QB that did anything since at least 95. IL wait

Eli Manning. Andrew Luck. Burrow looks like a HoF when healthy. Lawrence hasn't proven definitively one way or the other, but I wouldn't be shocked if he had a long NFL career. Kyler Murray looks like's going to have a long career. It's actually happening more frequently as time goes on. And Bears are 1st team in 45 years to draft 1st overall without earning it by losing or trading up.

Jayden skinnier Justin Fields. One hit and he’s broken in 2

@@TheSjuris I mean,it’s possible….but the new Commanders ownership are no fools like the last owner was…
I’m quite sure they are very well aware of the RG3 comparisons and determined to not make the same mistake….Plus RG3 and his dad made it even worse…..
Once they hook Jayden up with a top notch nutritionist and trainer,he’s gonna pack on 10-15 lbs. of muscle by the first day of the regular season…and they will definitely make sure they make sure he knows how to slide .They will also be on him if they see he’s playing hero ball and taking stupid chances….Jayden doesn’t have a big go like RG3. does and he’s pretty humble according to his coaches….so it will be much easier to stress to him that he can’t play hero ball….but, nobody really knows..that’s what makes these discussions so much fun

@@user-tl6ks3qg8f he need 35lbs of muscle by the first week of training camp. He also miraculously moved up from a 4th round pick to a first round pick with the blooming of a great offensive line and the best wr group in college. Caleb on the other hand had an extremely bad offensive line and 2 7th round WRs. The Bears just had the exact same qb as Daniels.

Jayden is Justin Fields with a weaker arm (Better footwork and release). Only person to escape more clean pockets and throw over the middle less than Jayden over the last however many years in college is Justin Fields. Commanders are thinking Lamar, but no. Highly suspect of a super senior that has played a ton of games, and only had 1 really standout year.
