South Devon Railway 'Western Branch Line Gala' - Saturday 23rd February 2013

February half term saw a new event for the South Devon Railway. The Western Branch Line Gala was to be a feast of Great Western branch line steam with recreations of branch line scenes throughout the ages. The event was an opportunity for the South Devon Railway to feature Steam Railmotor 93 from Didcot running alongside the autotrain, 1 and 2 coach trains from either the GWR or BR era and milk trains.

Another great event by the South Devon Railway, a personal highlight for me being a 'grubby' 14xx on a typical BR milk train. The event also featured the usual crowds which gathered to catch a glimpse of the Railmotor which gave some great performances along the branch. Can't wait to see what it's like on the West Somerset!

Only just got around to watching this, really enjoyed it :) Quite liked the shot of 1450 leaving Buckfastleigh with the milk train, nothing suggests a Great Western branch line quite like a small tank engine, a couple of milk tankers and a coach. Also liked the shot of 93 leaving Staverton and the one at 12:10 :)
