Interesting thoughts. Pushing limits on territory is hard. I’m not so sure Ruby Crisp are cold sensitive. All 3 have died back at least once and resprouted. Tubes keep deer away from ours, no other complaints. Your new growing style was tried at UGA Tifton test vineyard. It will work fine, but does not maximize production.
Snap, so they are having a hard time getting established. I was thinking of adding a 3 ft wire too just so I can get something established. Training to 6 ft is hard work.

That sucks about your Ruby Crisp's but good to hear, maybe it was just a fluke with Blue X. What are your recommendations for maximized production?
I'm FL 9a, and mine are on a conduit frame 3 ft off the ground. My next bar is at 6ft, and I hope they get up there! They are 3 yr vines

Sorry to hear about your muscadines. I had 4 and all but one died. Can't say it was the tube because I didn't have them on.
Thanks for the observation, I just found a strong correlation to the blue tubes and restarts for my Muscadines, maybe they kept them alive?
I have no luck with grapes 🍇😔 either.
Snap, that is no fun. I have no problem with grapes, just these Muscadines, you should be able to grow them in your neck of the woods :)
