India's largest auto-manufacturer has updated the Baleno quite significantly while retaining the same platform. It now gets a more fuel-efficient 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder, dual jet petrol engine. Not just the engine, Suzuki has also updated the overall staying and interiors of the car. We have driven the Baleno in Goa, please watch the video to know everything about the car.

I bought this car (alpha manual) 6 weeks ago and have enjoyed driving it….city driving. It’s very economical and you can easily get 14 to 15 km/L or more. But only with lazy driving. The car is not very peppy. It wold have been nice had it been turbo charged, but would have cost more. I love the HUD. 360 Camera is fun but I would have preferred if it were graphical and give actual distances from obstructions. Seating is comfortable even at the back. Ground clearance should have been a little more. It’s easy to scrape the front bumper. Not a spectacular car ….naturally …but a nice one. Value for money.

You are right. Maruthi has given this car a lot more gadgets than expected - you win some and lose some. Philosophical indeed is your view than the others who whine about the missing sun roof, wireless charger, auto wiper and the like.

Looking forward to what the new Toyota Glanza brings to the fold.

@ 11:32 you start talking about the HUD and say that it needs a way to control its brightness...there is a brightness control module for the HUD please open your eyes and check when you are given a car....was not excpecting this from a TOP GEAR INDIA...

Hi Gavin, excellent review! Just one review and I have become a fan. I'm in the hunt for a new car, my requirement being an Automatic hatch. I tried i20 iVT in which I felt has a lag in acceleration and the hesitation in gear shift. I tried the i20 DCT, which was really good, my kind of automatic. You clearly state that this Baleno's AGS is lazy and I can equate it to the iVT. The only thing that attracts me to Baleno is the cost and mileage which is the only thing I don't like in Hyundai i20 N Line N8. Yes, I'm considering N8 and that's a good 3.5 Lakhs higher than Baleno. Should I buy Baleno which makes a lot of economical sense or buy i20 N8 which my heart leans heavily to. I'm a bit philosophical when it comes to buying a car. I'm 30 years old and this is going to be my first car. How many times I'm going to buy a car, I predict 2, max 3. So I want to make this count. By my own admission, I'm a rather sedate driver and sparsely use car. But I want to feel good everytime I enter and drive a car. I understand that the decision lies entirely with me, but if you were me, what would be your decision, i20 N8 or Baleno?

I think I'd go with the Hyundai i20 because to me it's a more exciting package that's more rewarding for a driver and better put together in my opinion
