+nfinitiduck True. I was thinking that you could have them in a container that has a multi layer sides with mosquito screens to they can breathe without coming out until they are all extracted. However considering the amount of money that is poured into killing things vs relocating them for the mutual benefit of human and insect people an a is still good
Bees are too valuable to kill. Makes sense to capture and relocate them. Bee populations are declining and they are essential for the continued health of many ecosystems.
while I totally agree with you in keeping them alive and relocating, I'd just (and happily) kind to inform you that they're no longer declining, in fact they've completely recovered and are rising. you can Google it if you don't bee-leive me. It's a good thing.

Your damn right they are they affect the ecosystem we live in. But if they where killer bee's you have no choice to kill them. They are very aggressive and venomous and cause plenty of deaths in the South East and South West of the United States. "Trust me you do not wanna fuck with them".

+Andrew Ervin Yes, and the gaps are completely, and thoroughly sealed by insulation. You don't leave empty spaces in exterior walls, ever, period, fullstop. The only exception is when you're running a vent from an upper level to a lower level to cycle cold air, and even then your cold air drop is supposed to be in an interior wall/space (Typically near your stairwell). You do realize that insulation is laid over top of pipes in the walls, and the wiring is done after so it's flush, accessible, and there's no gaps in the walls? All your exterior walls should be fully insulated with no gaps/air pockets. Pipes that run in the wall are insulated and wrapped in foil (if brass to prevent condensation and freezing), and the insulation is packed around them. That's code. I really don't understand your thought process or where you're pulling this information from, because if you leave an exterior wall without insulation the pipes in the wall will freeze in winter and burst. Maybe you can get away with that bullshit in Hawaii or Florida, but then again - that's why people also have bees in their walls. Judging by what we're seeing here, this seems to be some sort of convoluted design feature, so there's a portion of exterior wall that overhangs the window to provide shading. It's poorly thought out either way, and this guy is just going to see another colony of bees/wasps move in there (or bats) because there's three pipes that provide clear and easy access to this open space. Under no circumstances should you mount a passive vent in this fashion, the passive vent (IE: A turbine vent) should be mounted on the roof, or should be flush against the exterior wall as a single vent (no pipes). Seeing as the exterior of the house is stucco (and sort of ugly stucco at that), I'm going to take a wild guess and say this house is 30-40 years old (AKA, the era of nothing ever being to code). tl;dr The only time you should have any 'open space' between walls is in an attic, or in interior walls. All exterior walls must be thoroughly insulated. This video is just an example of how not to design/build a house.
everybody wins, the bees get a new home, the beekeeper get's paid and get's a bee hive and free honey and ayalaandchen get's no more bees living in his house
I came across this on facebook. I just wanted to say thank you for going through the trouble of saving the bees instead of having them killed. :) Bees are our friends!
I really enjoyed watching this video! Thank you, Mike for respecting those bees and not trying to get them killed and exterminated just because they happened to have built a huge bee hive in a wall in your house! Kudos to you and the very nice and professional "bee removers"! :)
WOW this was amazing to see. Thank you for not only putting the extra effort to keep the bees alive, but for also documenting the process. Thumbs way up!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is so amazing to see. I hope karma rewards you for going to so much effort to save them. Karma is usually feared, but it goes both ways. And this definitely earned you points!
Just wanted to say you're awesome for getting them relocated! I'm awfully worried about this whole bee situation. So it's great to see others taking steps to help out!
+Brandon Clark Honest answer: It looks like he uses a regular shopvac style canister vacuum, he just made that wooden crate with the white netting to trap the bees before they go into the shopvac.
+Brandon Clark I don't know the exact name of the vacuum, but It looks exactly like mine, which is from RIGID. However I'm not sure how they spliced it to the "Bee's in the bag."
Good job on trying to get rid of them without killing them. Bees are awesome and make honey. :D It's the hornets you shouldn't care to much about, they just sting people and do nothing productive. :P
So glad you made sure they got put on a bee farm. With all the massive die offs any honeybees that can be saved and relocated are a wonderful asset to everyone.
Honey bees a huge part of the chain of life on our planet. If we lose the honey bees, were in deep trouble...Thank you posting, and thank you for caring.
Thanks for saving them. I am about to remove a honeybee nest from my cabin walls and am super worried about it. I have the hive box ready but if I can't find the queen there will be a real problem. I don't want her to die. Also, since I am doing it by myself I have no idea what I am doing. I enjoy seeing the little bees doing their work but I won't be able to help them if they get a verroa mite infestation and die in the walls. Even then, from my understanding, leaving honey combs in the walls means other things get attracted to the combs after the bees leave. So it is better to remove them. I know they came from my neighbor's house; she has two hives living in her house walls! Sometimes I walk her over to see "her" bees. :D I hope they do okay, if they do, I will build more boxes for them next year!
@BrightLights Don't waste your time on trolls. This story is excellent, thanks to the maker for taking the time and giving the energy to share it with us.

thank you! THAT WAS A WONDERFUL VIDEO, WELL DONE! YOU ARE BRAVE AND KIND FOR SAVING THE BEES AT EXPENSE TO YOURSELF. this video of your actions with the bees made me smile and be happy. blessings and peace.
Also a house in Denver provides a good reason for why it's important to relocate the bees instead of killing them. All bees keep honey cool enough to not drip. If you kill them all, the honey heats up, and you have an entirely different problem.
Because a large part of our eco-system depends on bees. Recently, starting a few years back, it has been reported that bee count in certain critical regions in the world has gone down to alarmingly low levels. Pretty much. These are actually quite calm. What makes them less calm is: windy or rainy conditions; being pestered by wasps; being queenless; not having enough food; being banged around.

Except for the 5% of bees that died
he has a fucking massive whole in his wall and no insulation 😂
they only live 6 weeks per a bee anyways, new bees will replace them
they prob fixed it....smh

Extraordinary video. Thanks for posting.
Your efforts will not go unnoticed. Thank you for helping our ecosystems.
This sounds really mean but it was satisfying when the bees were getting sucked up in the vacuum haha
get rekt
Lizzie they weren't killed
Lizzie they were vacuumed with a special vacuum so they go in a container or something
Lizzie lol no harm done they just went on a lil’ tornado ride
Thanks you so much for re-locating this hive! This video was not only very informative, but you're helping give back to the eco and floral systems!
Poor other 5% of the bees. At least you didn't kill them all like most people would. :) you are so kind
WOW this was amazing to see. Thank you for not only putting the extra effort to keep the bees alive, but for also documenting the process. Thumbs way up!
Bees are amazing creatures. Sometimes I wish I can explore a bee hive as a bee and see what their society is like.
i loled hard rn
Loooool
If they saw you as an intruder, you would be dead faster than a sneeze get out.
This is incredible! I'm so glad you saved them. That was both environmentally conscious and really brave. I would have been scared to be that close!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!!!!!! Seriously, this is so amazing to see. I hope karma rewards you for going to so much effort to save them. Karma is usually feared, but it goes both ways. And this definitely earned you points!

This was one of the most amazing videos about saving bees I have seen. Thank you for sharing this incredible experience!
How was the honey? Was it delicious?
im so glad you didnt poison them :). they're doing such important work for us, the least we can do is relocate them.
great job in saving 95% of those bees!
you're a great human being. Thanks for making sure they found a new home.
OMG 50,000 bees were inside your home?! un-bee-liaveble!
Without bees everyone dies. Good job my man! You did your part in saving the world
Good job on trying to get rid of them without killing them. Bees are awesome and make honey. :D It's the hornets you shouldn't care to much about, they just sting people and do nothing productive. :P
Thanks for taking care of the bees. People don't realize that honey bees are slowly dieing off and it's important to keep their colonies going.
I cannot beelieve it
XD
Outstanding. Not many people would have allowed that intrusion to save some insects. I love honey in my tea, so thank you!
Awesome! Thank you for not having them killed. =)
That's a pretty humane way to tackle this problem. Well done to both you and Mike "the bee guy".
It's hip to save bees
i'm really happy you didn't call the exterminator. You're a good man !
I'm glad he didn't just kill them!
Man I love you for saving those bees. They really are the most exquisite creatures.
aww this is cute. save the bees!! 🐝🐝
Really well made video. You know just what to show at what moment to tell the story and it keeps a good pace throughout. Well done!
that was so cool. Did you guys find the queen?
+RainAngel111 did you watch the video?
+enzou I had the same question. They found queen pods for making new bees, but I don't remember them actually finding her. Can you link us to a time?
He said that he probably vacuumed the Queen :)
Thank you so much for respecting these valuable creatures! Wonderful and informative video, my kids and I enjoyed it. =]
Way to bee.
Excellent work gentlemen, thank you for your thoughtful and inspirating approach. Thank you.
hahaha bees are so good look at them all
So glad you made sure they got put on a bee farm. With all the massive die offs any honeybees that can be saved and relocated are a wonderful asset to everyone.
That's amazing!
Dude, this guy is realy good at explaining what he does! I enjoyed this very much.
THis the type of shit they should give on natgeo.... get ya boy Mike a damn show.
wonderful that we have pepole who cares about our planet like the bee man in this video.
cool stuff indeed.
Not the bees?
Amazing. Thank you for saving the bees. Bees are very important.
I saw the queen
+Sabrina Mcgoldrick hahah

I'm allergic to bee's. If I get stung, I have to go immediately to hospital or die so you are a hero in my eyes.
This was so nice. Moving all the bees to a new home.
I applaud you for not just calling an exterminator to kill them all; probably would have been easier that way, but im glad you managed to save them :)
you are a very smart man buy saving them god bless u and who ever else in the world that helps to protect the bees
thanks for taking the time to remove them properly. Most people would exterminate them immediately, and further reduce the bee populations worldwide
larry and mike, very cool, love the video camera on the vaccum! i've posted video response of swarm i captured on brooklyn street, thanks, eric.
That's a real professional operation. How much does he charge, and did they fix the walls after?
You're such a legend for not getting them killed ❤
You've saved the whole of humanity thanks :)
Thanks for saving the bees

Pretty cool how the beekeeper actually tells you about what hes doing and why. 98 degrees in a beehive, damn.
Good man for giving the bees a new place to live.
"Cuz i don't wanna kill 'em."
