Other than Alucard, Seras is the only other true vampire confirmmed within Hellsing Ultimate. All the Nazi vampires are artificially created, which is why every person they bite becomes a ghoul
No, any vampire can create a ghoul. Its just that in order to make a ghoul the person either has to
A. Not be a Virgin
B. Be the same ex as the vampire if they are a Virgin.
Seras truly just lucked out by being both a Virgin and having the vampire that bit her be a dude.
@Tony2-Dirty Artificial vampires can make all of their victims into ghouls regardless of the status of their virginity.

@@Tony2-Dirty No it is explicitly stated that the Nazi vampires are artificial and that is why everyone they bite turns into Ghouls. Even the opposite sex virgins. The Nazis created them by experimenting on Mina Harker's body. Alucard wasn't truly dead so Mina was still technically a vampire
I believe this is false. Nazis just used another vampire created by Alucard. All their “science” was derivative from that.

Zorin is the exact definition of "you had ONE job"
So, a couple of things here:
1: Seras has always been pretty weak up until now (although it's a matter of perspective, really), because she's resisted the urge to feed, aside from occasional drops of blood that Integra gave her just to keep her going. She's never willingly fed before...that's why her eyes were always blue, she was still pure. The act of feeding is what powers up a vampire, and there was something special about Pip that I can't really get into without spoiling shit, but let's just say that the powerup she got from feeding on him was EXPONENTIALLY larger than the average increase in power from just a normal feeding.
2: You're one of the few streamers I've seen who immediately caught "THAT WAS YOUR JOB!" at the end.
3: That screaming from Seras at the end was so visceral that the voice actor actually damaged his vocal chords and had to rest his voice and recover before he could do any more voice acting work.
His cat came in concerned during the bloopers to check and make sure he wasn't actually being murdered.

Pretty weak compared to a true vampire, and the elite squad of Millenium. She was still fast enough to dodge bullets and strong enough to easily rip any of the rank-and-file artificial vampires to shreds with her bare hands.
I'm also pretty sure that in the manga and thus Ultimate OVA she does not grow weaker from not drinking blood (at least as long as she sleeps in a coffin with some soil from her home), but just doesn't grow stronger either. Weakening due to a lack of blood is something the TV show came up with, if I'm not mistaken. Besides, the entire ultimate OVA series takes place over just a couple of days anyway, so not exactly much time to get starved for a vampire.

The ending scene of this episode was one of my favorites! The choice of song was spot on, too.
Oh I don't know... the original scene with Zankuro almost fully played out really has a lot going for it. That stuff goes right under my skin. And then Shinto Shite playing over the credits of photos of the geese? Goosbumps.
It's kinda crazy how that flashback scene was pg compared to the actual one. For those that don't know, they actually DO the things they say and Ceras is conscious enough to see it for a while.

In hindsight I'm glad they did all the editing they did with Seras's backstory. In Hellsing Ultimate they actually depicted what happened after TFS cut away from Seras's flashback for a few seconds. One of the reasons I haven't rewatched. It was horrid and stuck with me for months afterwards.
As I recall. they were stumped with how to tackle the backstory because of just how dark it was. Best they could come up with was to make it a Monty Python skit and cut it off before things got particularly ugly.
Yeah, it is quite disturbing, I mean I just skip forward through that scene
Then I suggest you don't read/watch Berserk and Black Lagoon. At least with the latter, skip the twins arc and thank me later.

The Nazi Bich was Gloating & shit talking on Pip which pissed Ceras SO MUCH she drank all of his blood.

God even with the abriged I fucking love the visuals of this anime. Kouta Hirano is soooo goood in making some dope shit, I really wish we got a second season of Drifters(his other work) because his visuals are so unique in a lotta ways.

I’ve never seen any other anime that made literally every single character look badass. Love that effect where they make the characters completely dark, but with shining eyes or glasses.

In this version, Seras Victoria is voiced by TFS's Jesse Nowacking. As amazing as they are at the dramatic acting, they show up in a lot of the team's live-action comedy videos. I recommend the 'Bento Bar' videos on the FourStarBento channel and their recent appearance in the tabletop series "Tales Unwritten."
I think there's still a BTS video on Nowhacking's channel of them recording the 'cutting off arm and eyes' scene. His cat was so worried during that recording session because of those screams.

Usually I'd find it cool that a show was name dropping me, but seeing as Nazis were trying to fire a panzer at me...I could've done without it this time.
The day she earned her name
From what I recall so slight potential for spoilers
(the abridged series don't cover it) but according to the lore alucard only sired 2 vampires, both women, seres and another woman shortly after becoming a vampire, this woman made more vampires but died and was found in the 30's and the Nazi's made copies of her dna and made their own watered down version of Nazi's hence the difference in sheer strength between them. The anime original spin of (first adaptation of the hellsing manga) introduced another vampire (from Africa if I recall correctly) and both series mentioned that of alucards direct bloodline stuff that seres is the only one alive as well as the only one he has sired since that women back when he first became a vampire, as I recall the way it's phrased it kinda sounded like the author wanted to expand it in some kind of follow up manga or book (same with the ww2 stuff) but it's only ever been mentioned and nothing else, like the creator finished the series and just moved on to other stuff.
IIRC the other woman was Mina Harker, which Millennium dug up her skeleton for study
He sired several, but the only two that were still around are Sera and Mina.
His three brides and Lucy were all killed and destroyed during the events of Dracula.
Mina was saved thanks to them defeating Dracula, but because he wasn't fully destroyed his blood eventually turned her after her death from old age when he was re-activated to do experiments on.
Since her transformation was incomplete however she didn't fully revive, and was instead merely a corpse that wouldn't rot that had restored back to her prime of life.
After doing a bunch of experiments on it, Millenium partially revived her, but only as a mindless undead that they could use for parts to graft into other people to make ghouls and later Pseudo-vampires as they got the ratios of flesh to subject better. with pretty much all of her body being consumed in their experiments aside for her skeleton.
@@ZanathKariashi As I understand it, Mina was only a Draculina (i.e. this kind of half-vampire state what Seras was too, up until this episode), but never fully awakened, which is why she turned back to almost fully Human, after Dracula's "death."

So in episode 2 during the meeting with the funding people they said Alucard crashed a car into a dairy queen. Then TFS got endless comments that there are actually no Dairy Queens in London at the time. So now Alucard responded with it being the first dairy queen there.
and this is why london has no dairy queens
because they're too scared alucard will destroy their businesses with cars covered in goats blood
And the award for one of the most f'd up backstory goes to:
the Black Lagoon Twins of course. Seras's backstory got nothing on them.
Just so it’s cleared up: the segsual harassment claims Helsing referenced that Alucard refused to apologize for, were about him complaining about Integra harassing her employees.
Fun facts!
Seras's voice actor, Jesse Nowack, recorded the session where he did the lines for this episode - his cat was *extremely* upset and concerned.
Also - in the original OVA episode, right before Zorin got a brand new bone structure, she was the recipient of a very overdue "you had ONE job/this is why you suck" speech. The reason I suspect they left it out here is spoiler territory, so I'll wait until that episode.
Also also - if you ever decide to re-watch, T4S has "English (Canada)" subs - they're full of quips and sarcastic remarks from way back when community subtitles was still a thing. I recommend them highly - especially the later half of the Cell Saga episodes, and the Kai episodes (mostly because I helped with those epis :))
Also also also - Some of the guests in this episode include: TomFawkes (the guy making the tootsie pop joke), Mothers Basement (Tony), and CDawgVA (the headmaster and one of the bed intruders in Seras's past)
Also^4 (last edit, I promise) - Jaffe's rant was T4S making fun of people who were complaining about the lack of Alucard in the last episodes, as if it was _their_ fault, and not Hirano's

Canada subs are for REWATCHING ONLY though keep that in mind! They're absolutely not recommended on first time watch as said by TFS themselves as the subs ruin a lot of upcoming jokes with spoilers.

Funniest thing about the reconnaissance part is that Zorin had more to gain just sticking to it; Seras and the mercs weren't in a position to stop the invasion, and the Hellsing estate was pretty fortified against attack. If Zorin did her job then either everyone stays in the mansion, or Seras tries to leave to help out and Zorin would probably not fuck up killing her this time since none of the mercs would be there to back her up.
Assuming the nazis win, Zorin wouldn't have to die fighting Seras. If the other nazis needed help, Zorin could be useful backup. She made the worst choice possible and gained literally nothing for it lmao.

I always remember how Nowacking did so many abridged series and was funny in every one. I remember she did Pokémon Bridged and voiced Misty. Hellsing is her most dramatic series and she nailed it as Seras.

so a bit that got cut out that i feel ads to this and some other shit in the original version of the story, just in case its needed:
so firstly, prior to this we got several moments where seras comes CLOSE to drinking blood, but something stops her. SHe also frequently grapples with being a vampire and holding onto her innocence. Here is the first time she truly embraces what she is, and uses it in glorious fashion.
THere's also a bit where, jsut as Zorin blitz is dying, the major contacts her and tells her he COULD set on fire like Jan valentine, but he won;t because he was THAT dispapointed in her he decided to tell her he was going to let seras kill her, making zorin even more horrified in her death, as she didn't want to die at the hands of someone she looked down so hard.
also out of all of Millennium Zorin is portrayed as the worst of them, being not only sadistic but egotisitcal and a bully who lorded her pwoer over others all to prove she's better than them. The Major did NOT like her.
Hirano also hates her because her tattoos were pain in the arse to draw.

so wanna point out a lore point here, the nazi's arn't vampires, there something new, something weak, they used vampire dna but without the punch. we only actually see 2 real vampires in the entire series, alucard and seras. there's no telling how strong real vampires are

16:24 Man I love how they slipped in clips from the 2001 anime for padding or when they need a good moment, thats some nice comfy nostalgia to it. At least thats what I think they did from the animation style change, it's been a minute since I've seen Ultimate.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's quite good and has a banger of an OP. However, it came out while the manga was being published and that thing had some terrible fucking hiatuses (I wanna say there was like a full year between the penutimate and final volumes IIRC). So sadly a lot of the Nazi Vampire bits get lost, and in it's place we get this other cool filler villain named Incognito and a climatic final battle at the Tower of London.
really the main issue with the first anime was it ends with no answer as to who the mastermind behind the artifical vampires were (as Millennium is still a thing in there they jsut never show them or say their name cause the anime couldn't do the full story) making it feel like the show ends on a cliffhanger.
hell, Incognito is specifically noted to be a vampire mercenary hired by Millinieum who goes rogue after he starts getting his own plan
