I recently visited San Diego for a week. My first night, as soon as I tossed my stuff in the hotel, I was starving and my belly was screaming for sushi. Luckily, I was staying at Best Western Hacienda, in Old Town. Luck was on my side, as Harney Sushi was half a block away! As I was alone, I sat at the bar and ordered my first two items: spectacular gyoza with dipping sauce so good I could have drank it by the shot! As I ate conversations with my barmates ensued and really made my night! Service was great, food was off the chain. I ordered two sushi rolls, one soft shell crab and the other spicy tuna. Great first night!
Great to see Action Kid and Rosie join you. OMG!!! Can't wait to go back to San Diego. Wish you had more footage at Sorrentos. Love Italian food. I am literally salivating right now.🤤
Dollar for Dollar Bluewater might be the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. Nothing to complain about Lucha Libre burritos. Price is up, OOOF at LL. I have never been to Knotty Barrel. I presumed it was a downtown tourist type place. I will give it a try. Athough Grand ol BBQ usually dominates my BBQ time. I still don't think you gave Dumpling Inn/Shanghai Saloon a fair shake. You just ordered the wrong thing. TBH I prefer DI/SS soup dumplings, which is the highlight of both places. DTF is still a fine location and it is in my neighborhood.
Thanks for the great video @jaycation! Keep up the great content. For Din Tai Fung, the xiao long bao are served with black vinegar and julienned ginger. Not soy sauce. Keep up the great work!
Good to see AK and Rosie hanging out eating. The soup dumplings look good, I don't think I 've ever eaten them. The Barbecue looked, good, as I'm not big on meat but I like Turkey. A good friend who lived in La Mesa, called, left a VM ,as my birthday is coming up..
Didnt go anywhere too spectacular until a trip to Allegro for Friday dnner. Arrived early for Happy Hour oysters (12.), then ordered a Caesar Salad that was absolute perfection. Fresh, lightly dressed, and unlike any other i have ever enjoyed! My main was Tagliatelli Bolognaise. I rarely eat pasta out, but the Bolognaise was very tempting. Although i was already stuffed, the pasta arrived and i was hooked! I took three small forkfulls and the rest went home in a box! This dish was like a warm hug from grandma! Rich, comforting and delicious. It was still good microwaved at eleven pm! I ordered a dessert to go, as i cannot resist tiramisu. This one was disappointing. The addition of fresh strawberries watered down the dessert, which didnt translate well. Rest of the meal was perfection.
And honorable mention goes to Coyote Cafe! Stopped by for a few small a la carte things and if you dont why homemade tortillas matter, EAT HERE! Their Posole was just what the doctor ordered as i got a little sick mid week. And i couldnt resist a Chile Relleno. Later in the week, i came by for a birria taco and churros for breakfast. Both delicious and just enough to keep me full till i got halfway home. Great food town.
OMG those fish tacos!!! 🌮 How do the Din Tai Fung prices in SD compare to the one in Vegas? 🤔 That restaurant looks so much like the one in Vegas! 😆 I wish we had better BBQ places where I live.
All the food looked great and never mind the haters Jay you stay honest when it comes to your reviews brother if you criticize luche Libre so be it and if people don't like it to bad I want to hear honesty not lies I'll catch you on the next one.😋😋😋
Yo Jay sup bro Lucha Libre sucks bro. I lived in Old town for 12yrs and that place is a tourist trap. 16. bucks for a burrito no thanks. Go down the street into old town. For real Mexican food. Cafe Coyote or Old town Mexican cafe!!
I hear what you say but those places are just as expensive and also tourist traps. Going out to eat anywhere these days has gotten out of control on the cost and the quality is often not there. I'd pay 16 bux if it's actually good.
Would definitely not say Blue Water Seafood, it's pricey. Better fish tacos can be had at hole in the wall Mexican taco shops. Bravo's Taco Shop for $3.49 in City Heights for example.

Thanks for the food tour of San Diego Jay, I am a big fan of Dumplings.
Blue Water is my favorite in the nation. FRESH simple and great

I was told breakfast and lunch is good at Coyote Cafe by a local there. It is next on my list…💐
All of those foods looked delicious 😋Thank you for sharing Jay 🙂👍!!
Very nice ❤
Din Tai Fung my favorite!
You have to try Spicy City on Convoy. My favorite place over DTF.
Any idea what this stuff cost now after April 1 on account of the $20 an hour hike
There’s a Din Tai Fung up here at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa (Orange County)
Bay park fish co is a must try
HH every day
Din Tai Fung is my favorite.👍
Question what's that place you took your parents and family that had the buffet on shelter island that had the upstairs
Bali Hai
@@Jaycation thank you
Great banana daiquiris at Bali Hai
Adrian's surf and turf on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Is by far the best restaurant in San Diego
OMG those fish tacos!!! 🌮 How do the Din Tai Fung prices in SD compare to the one in Vegas? 🤔 That restaurant looks so much like the one in Vegas! 😆 I wish we had better BBQ places where I live.
Just in time! I’ll be back in SD in 2 weeks with the wifey . We love your videos Jay Jay 🔥👌🏼keep making great San Diego content 🤙🏼😎

Old Town Mex Cafe sucks now too, Super tourist trap, microwaved old food sucks ! Only good thing is the tortillas ! Everything else sucks now too .

Wow that's sucks to hear about them. @@Varo3121
Or across the street to EL Indio.

Bluewater Grill was meh. I say Pelly's Fish Market in Carlsbad is way better.
Those fish tacos looooks really good
7.50 taco is too much
Seabass tacos yes. Swordfish tacos no. I love Italian food.
Lucha Libre just aint the same anymore no way top 5 , North Park location is terrible .
Right! We use to take people here…not anymore. There’s better spots BUT if you want to go for Instagram pics and stuff then that’s fine.
Din Tai Fung is so overrated. Thumbling in West Covina is so much better
din tai fung and lucha libre are both overrated
