Welcome home Col. Joseph Abodeely, thank you for your service and God bless you!
Larry I’ve said it before. But I love what you do. Giving us these stories and also stressing that we are now in a fight just as important as combat. We have to save this nation and keep our beliefs and history. Well done Larry. Bless you sir.
Thank you Joey.
Larry,I respect and Love you beyond words,Thank you this invaluable work to put these MEN and women s accounts of the SERVICE to this Nation, Most of the accounts of the U.S MARINES are emotionally devastating to me,henceforth I can only watch in segments. I RESPECT and PRAY for ALL of U.S service men.Thank you Larry!!
I AM SAVING this comment Francis. I appreciate your kind and thoughtful words. God bless you!! Say a prayer for me as I have some big decisions ahead of me regarding this work, UA-cam Channel and radio station.
I can relate to having to listen in segments.
Blessings for you.

Wow, this Gentleman was a straight G. Tank You for your service SIR.
Thanks for your Service Joe. Welcome Home. I was a 12 year old kid Watching Willie Mays with my Ww-2 Navy vet Grandfather at Candlestick park when you gave it all. God Bless Larry for what you do. All I can say is Joe is a True Leader of Men. A Hero in my book. And if men like Joe were in charge of this Great Country these last 4 years -We would be in a much better situation. God Bless our Viet Nam Veterans 🇺🇸❤️
Thank you brother for your kind words. Great comment!! I love Willie Mays (24) and the SF Giants back then.
Ain't no BS with Colonel Joe. Straight shooting from the hip with a well informed opinion. What a great accomplishment to keep his troops alive. Thanks Larry, and I hope you are still interviewing these guys.
Gil, I am planning more interviews this year. Stay tuned my friend.
@@nicohands9171may I ask which war
My uncle PAUL MARINO joined the navy in WWII and served on the aircraft carrier the USS Franklin that was attacked in 1944 off the coast of Japan by kamikazes planes, one of which was able to hit the ship killing over eight hundred crew one of which was my uncle Paul at the age of only 19. My mother always told me my uncle was buried at sea but, my brother who went to Hawaii Punchbowl military cemetery and he found a headstone with my uncle’s name. I also went to Hawaii but much earlier than my brother but believing my uncle was buried at sea I never looked for my uncle there (which pissed me off) not knowing if he really buried there or was it just an empty grave. ❤
Glad you made it back to the world! Chicken Man 22M here, Flew you all over and maybe to Khe Sanh. Hauled log for you many times. I was at Phan Thiet from 11-67 to English and Evans. DEROSED as we were moving south 11-68. There was no finer battalion in Vietnam than the 2/7.
Colonel Joe , thank you for your service ! You are truly a National Treasure !
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your service Joe! And thank you for being a good friend to my Grandfather. He always thought highly of you.
I appreciate that.
This is a down to earth officer, great storyteller and registered republican, Bravo Zulu Joseph Abodeely.

I got bit by a centipede in Thailand. I thought I was gonna die. Thank you Joe and Larry for another great story.
Reminds me of my dad 2 Tour marine who spent some time in Khe Sahn. Tough s.o.b's who didn't take 💩 from anyone, and if he liked ya, he had your back when you needed him. He taught me everything I know now, and I miss him every day.
Wow! Nothing but love and respect.
Thank you Jack!!
Spot on perspective Colonel. Thanks for your dedication to this country and to your men.

Good evening my friend. This story like many, has been in my archives for almost 20 years. It is time to resurrect these stories. Please help me to share and let me know what you think of this video.
@@VoicesofHistory I really enjoyed this one; you have a treasure trove of amazing content to share with the world 🌎. Thank you 🙏
Thank you Joe!
What an incredible account. Hearing a leaders perspective of the war always amazes me. You have a slightly better view point than a regular Joe. You may not see the whole picture but you have a hand in the pieces that move. Col Obodeely was the right man for the job. Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Veterans don't lose wars, politicians do. God bless.
Love Vietnam Veterans.
Yes the best .
God bless you Sir!
Thank You Colonel Joe for being there for us troopers, I mean it!
Deserving of a statue. He's a war hero in my book.

47:09 As a door gunner in Vietnam,1st Av. Bde.UH1D '66-'68 Can Tho air field head quarters co. ,there was never a dull moment. You could have your scrambled eggs in the morning, take off and be in a machine gun fight within 45 min.The next day carring Martha ray and play boy bunnies arround Nam to entertain, the following day you could drop into a surrounded camp in the middle of a fire fight to bring ammo and take out wounded, getting shot at all the way and actually get shot down the next.taking in a battalion of troops into an lz and taking out wounded and dead till 3 in the morning, ships and us coverd in blood ,ships stinking to high heaven the next day. When you finally got back to the air field and you're bunk chances are we got morterd.Yea never a dull moment. My last 3mos.I felt like a walking dead man.
Adrian have you told your story before? Feel free to reach out to me.
There never really was a South Vietnam and the only Vietnamese to ask us for help was ho chi min LBJ and his wife took financial control of Bell helicopter and made large investments in Genral dynamics just before he sent troops to Vietnam It was for Arms dealers and corporations and wall street investors Not one American soldier should have set foot in that place
Those orders to deploy to Vietnam were unlawful and should have been challenged in court every one who followed them is a war crimanl no exceptions
That marine in the photo is sporting an ak not an m-16. Interesting.
BearDown!!!!
Never heard of an officer walking point.
Baby boomers all of them
