- A quick video review of my mini moving head wash lights. These can be found very easily. I have 4 of these lights and I'm very impressed with their movement as well as their brightness. Used with DMX programming these are very effective fixtures. If you have any comments or questions, please post them below.
The "dis" setting inverts the display so it can be read upside down (like when they're mounted like yours)

The 'dis' is the display, which you can turn upside down to make it easier to see when you are using them upside down!

Spot on, I got a pair not Long after asking you about these on a previous vid ( in which you highly recommended them ) would agree with you about the strobe but with a dmx controller this is not a problem they are great fixtures at great price will be getting another pair soon enough keep up the good work looking forward to your next vlog

I've just bought a pair of them for my livestream. I'm not using a DMX controller yet, I don't know what setting should I use. What would you recommend to a 100% beginner? In other words, I don't know what the heck I'm doing!!! 😂

Your video was pretty damn informative and helped me decide that I want to buy them. Quick question though. I plan on using these at shows with a dmx controller. do you have to re-program these every time you turn them on at every show? or do they stay with its previous setting before turning it off?
They stay on the last setting that they were on when turned off. I use them with DMX so they keep the address stored when turned off :)
How many meter far can it go?
Depends on the brightness of the room. I have 4 of these and two are bright enough to reach a wall 20m away
Great video! Have you found anyway to keep the lights in one colour only and not change to all the others? Sometimes it would be good to just stay on one colour, I can't figure out how to do this if it is possible with these lights.

If it hasn't been mentioned in the comments below already... the setting of dis in the menu is for inverting the display... so that you can read it in the upside down position.. just an FYI

Hello, I might like to buy 2 almost the same on the internet, I only do very few parties and in not very big rooms, and I think the quality is sufficient for me. I don't have a DMX console and I would like to use them automatically or synchronized to the music, do you think I can connect them with a DMX cable but without a control console and program them as master/slave?... Hi there for the power on the unit can you plug it in to a standard plug on a wall?
I'm new to this but, do you need a DMX controller to get more than 2 of them to work together, or can you put 4 on a master/slave auto mode type thing?
You can put them on master slave to copy each other. Then using the reverse pan and tilt on the unit you can mirror them to create automatic light shows.
Hai! My LED’s are turned off, but the moving head does rotate, in what part of the menu can you turn the LED’s back on?
Hi, I'm not sure what's happened here! If you have it on DMX mode then you might have set the LED channels off. If not I'm not aware of a menu mode for blackout.
Are these the Lixada lights? If so, they're currently on tomtop for £38 each.

Not using just the unit. You need to program it.

Hi Steve, Unfortunately every lighting controller is different and there are loads of variations of this light so they are not all the same. Your best bet is to look for videos of you controller and have a good read of the lights manual to learn what each channel does.

You can't change the intensity on the unit itself only via a dmx controller :)
Dis flips the display upside down
I just got the fixture and it stories much more than yours do in auto mode and sound active, is there anyway to make them act as yours did? The sound active mode is the same pattern as display mode fast also
Can I get link on where I can get lights from?
I have the same lights, but they're max speed is about 60% of yours... Is there way to configure that?
If their speed is different in auto mode then I'd imagine your lights will be slightly different. There is no way of controlling the speed unless you're programming them with a controller

+Giovanni Reyes Hi I' not too sure what you mean. All of the lights are on the same channel when I use them. I then invert the pan and tilt on two of the units to get a symmetrical setup.

Hello! I just got this light and everything with the settings is fine, but the motor shut off completely when it's turned upside down. Did you experience this before hanging yours? Should I just plan on keeping it upright?
My mini led moving head is not working properly. It only blink blue colour

Hi, great comment. I bought 4 of these around 4 years ago. They all work perfectly apart from one which has unfortunately lost its red LEDs. I think this is a problem with cheaper LED chipsets as some cheap par cans I bought also had broken LEDs but in the space of a few months. I took the broken moving head to pieces to see if it was a lose connection and honestly I was very impressed with the build quality. I've just got home from a gig tonight with 2 in my setup and they are as bright as the day I bought them. Well worth the money in my opinion :)

They tilt the fully, I think they were going fast as the speaker was close to the lights microphone so they were going bit fast :)

Hey Fearntree, found your youtube on these lightes. i just picked up 4 of these. I'm pretty much a lazy DJ... ie, I run all my lights on Sound Activate. Question, I'm using a Chauvet on/off board for 8 lights. When I turn on the lights they work awesome.. issue is, when I turn them off for a different song and such, when I turn them back on they have to go through the 'initialization' test again. Is there a way to bypass this. Sometimes this is 20 - 25 seconds into a song before the lights actually turn on and move. Do you know if there is a way to bypass this function and just make it turn on.. again, without a DMX controller. Thanks for the great video, just reinforced why i bought these lights... thanks, Jerry
Hi Jerry, thanks for the comment :) Unfortunately I don't think there is any way to bypass the initialization. Due to these lights having so many motors and components every time it turns on it needs to reset so that it can process where it is and it knows what its doing. The only real way around it even with DMX would be using a black out programme which basically just dims the light but doesn't power it off. So I'm afraid the short answer is no unfortunately you can't bypass it. - James
hawkskyflier You should be able to leave up the power channel for them (channel 1 I think?) and just turn down the colour channels.
That way they'll remain powered and not need to reboot everytime you need them.
Is there a difference between yours and the 12 watt version?
I'm not sure which 12w version you're talking about. most led moving heads with a rating of 12w are usually spot fixtures. these are wash fixtures which are much brighter
Not sure if you can answer this but if you could it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently trying to program a pair of these and I cannot program them separately as in what I do to one the other will do as well. Direction, color, and so on are the same. Now I am new to dmx programing so it could just be my inexperience that has caused this result but I am curious if they can be program individually or if they will always mimic each other?
Hi Dan, it sounds like you have both lights set to the same DMX address. I believe from memory these lights are 18 channel so therefore they take up 18 channels of control, one for each setting such as colour etc. This means they need to be set up 18 channels apart, such as your first light set to 001 and your second to 019. It's hard to explain over comments but if you watch some UA-cam videos on DMX hopefully you'll get there. Good luck! :)
fearntree thanks. k i know how to assign dmx channels. i think i may have just forgotten to assign the second light. i haven had to much time to play around with them yet but atleast now i know its an error on my part.

hey can you give me the type of threaded bolts where is de black schackle is mounted on the fixture... I want to buy two of these, but i need to hang the fixture's directly on a sealing. No extra schackles or G hook's can be used. I'm from Belguim and we have type for threaded bolts they called M and a number. I hope you can help me. Thx
Hi Kevin, thanks for your comment. Not too sure which bolt you are meaning! The bottom of the fixture needs an omega bracket which has some pre-drilled holes. You'd then need to drill into the ceiling and bolt these securely in place. The number on the threaded M bolts I believe is just its diameter in MM, I hope this has helped :)

Have you tried rigging these lights sideways? Do these inexpensive units still work in this configuration? Or can the pan motor only cope with being mounted 'up or down' ?
They would work but not for very long. Moving heads can't handle the forces so the motors would burn out
How to program on a dmx
hey i have buyed 3 off them for my foodtruck.... they already installed and now i try to make some programming with a AVL miniscan 12 controller. How do you go the moving heads so fast.... I've i touch the pan our tilt fader ... they move slow (soft). I make a wave program and i've i set the speed and wait fader on fast... the moving heads make short movements like it's to fast to do the program.... i've a put down the wait and speed butten... they do the programmed wave but slow not fast.... i hope you can have me some advice

Hi Kevin. All of these generic units are slightly different and it sound like the programs on yours might be different to mine, as mine have an inbuilt fast setting. All I can recommend is researching DMX programming and trying to learn the ropes :)

Dj Kad aka MC I'm not too sure. I'm assuming every channel will correspond to an angle but it probably depends more on what you're controlling it with
What dmx controller are you using
It's a small handheld unit called gwdmx which you save programmes onto via a computer. Theyre pretty hard to come by but I'm sure you could find one if you looked hard enough :)
Any standard 192-channel dmx controller will work. I prefer the ones with 16 sliders (rather than 8) if you want to control lights with more than 8 channels.

if you mean you cannot find them in the library, its because of either two things, first,m your fixture library requires an update or because Martin are so high end they just don't put un-branded cheap Chinese moving heads on the software.
Martin Light Jockey library will only have Martin or high end fixtures in their library. I use a small handheld DMX controller. You might be able to create a custom fixture using the manual that came with the lighting. I can't really help much more! :)
