Just be careful when travelling around the Brussels area as there is a bit of a pickpocket problem and the area around Brussels Midi station is not very nice but Brussels Central is much better. Keep an eye on your luggage and belongings as most trains stop at Brussels Midi, Central and Nord which are just a couple of minutes between the stations. Sometimes thieves get on the train and might take your luggage etc and get off at the next close station as this is what happened to a friend of mine. Elsewhere all is pretty much ok and Belgium is a really lovely country with friendly people and it has great beer and chocolate!
@@christopherfernandes4401 as a whole Belgium is indeed very safe. It is only Brussels that has an issue with thieves and homeless folks in my experiences. The main issue with Brussels is having three stations of Nord, Central and Midi just minutes apart and it is easy for thieves to board at one station and then steal, some luggage and get off a minute later at the other station.
I think this pick pocket business is everywhere even in London this is highly practice by group of people at the most posh area of Central London.. even at the underground station you will often listen to the announcements beware of pick pockets...where are the human safe...so sad..
Made the mistake of buying another ticket when I missed my train to Amsterdam in Antwerp. Lol I was a rookie then. Traveling Europe by train is so easy once you know the basics and this video explains that system very well.
Thank you for this video. I used to do the Brussels-Noord to Ostend on a regular. I'll be doing the Brussels Airport - Liege route soon and thank you for the travel tips I will be using next time in Belgium.
most time the first class is not that different, but the only advantage is for when the train is packed and first class is mostly empty, you can buy a upgrade with your second class ticket
great tips i didn’t know! I’m going to Antwerp in January and using the Eurostar from Brussels so being able to use the ticket at anytime will be very helpful! 😊
Do I need to buy a separate ticket for whenever I switch the train? For example, when having connection stops (traveling from Charleroi to Ghent, I have to exchange trains in Brussel). Thank you for your answer!
Time does matter somethimes, depending on the kind of train you take. The rule is: if your ticket has a time, you are restricted to that specific train. This won't be the case for trains that stay within the country
Reservation for a specific train is only obligatory for the high speed trains (Eurostar, TGV InOui, ICE) and the Night Trains. All the local trains in Belgium are without reservation. Only a valid ticket for that day.
Hi . We enjoyed your Video about Belgium's Train system. We have a quick question. You mentioned that a purchased Ticket could be used later in the day. There are two direct routes to Gent Sint Pieters. (A) Brussels to Knokke, with a stop in Gent. The time to the stop in Gent Sint Pieters is about 55 minutes. (B) Brussels direct to Gent Sint Pieters (with the duration closer to 1 hour, 23 minutes). If we purchase the Ticket for "A" (Knokke), and the direct train "B" (1hr, 23 minutes) comes along first, can we use out Ticket ("A") on the Train for route "B"? Thanks
Hi Mrs. Fabulous, ahahahah! I'm moving to Aachen (Germany) in September this year. And I need to know if BELGIUM’S TRAIN SYSTEM is an excellent recommendation for the Aachen-Brussels connection, or if not, what recommendations would you suggest, since I'll be working in Brussels. Thank you very much, and all the best for your UA-cam channel!!!
I live in Belgium and for taking a train to Aachen (Aken in Dutch or Aix-la-Chapelle in French) you have 2 options. Take a direct high speed train from Brussel- Zuid with Eurostar or ICE (also stops in Brussel- Noord) with obligatory reservation and higher prices or take a local train to Luik (Liege) Guillemens and change there for a train to Aachen ( Aix-la-Chapelle in French) without the nead of reservation.
Hi...your Belgium train info is awesome...thanks...but the link for museum & mini europe is taking to get your guide site and not t their official website for purchasing tickets. Look forward to your assistance 😊
I totally resonate with your channel because I am soooo similar to you! Hahahahah. Cracks me up when you ask me to "smack" it ... hahahhahaha ... Thank you for this video.
6) Don't book any ride that has a transfer in Brussel-Zuid (Bruxelles Midi). It is the shittiest trainstation in Europe, and you don't want to get out of the train there. With 22 tracks, hidden escallators and many stairs, and street pavement for Luik-Bastenaken-Luik, make sure if you DO want to go for a transfer here, you have you legs and arms trained very well. Want a high-speed train to Paris: Go to Antwerpen first and book it from there.
Hi I would travelling to Brussels in 2 weeks for Tomorrowland and would be staying in Brussels. Can you please tell me if I can travel through weekend train ticket from Brussels to Tomorrowland back and forth? It'd be really helpful.
@@StayFabulousTLBut the shuttles services from Brussel to Tomorrowland and back to Brussels cost around €40 per person which is too expensive. Can you please tell me the cheapest way to navigate?
i have a eurrail pass which I plan to use for paris to brussel central. I have a connection in Brussel Midi to Central with a short connection time. What if I miss my connection? Can I still use my pass for the next train?
Usually, the connections in Brussels are planned considering the distance between the platforms for the train connections. Most likely you will have enough time to make it to your next train. The indications in Brussel Midi are super easy to understand. Happy travels!
Brussels South (Midi or Zuid) is a big station. But when you arrive with the Eurostar it is mostly at the platforms 1 to 6. At some places at the platforms there are screens with showing the next depatures and in the main hall there is a departure board thats list more departures. From Brussels South to Bruges there are 3 trains each hour. Take a train with destination Oostende, Blankenberge or Knokke and get of in Bruges. In the summer months thera are more trains to the coast in the morning that stops in Bruges.
Hi, so we have a stopover there for 45 mins from amsterdam going to london.. now my question is.. can we go out the station just for quick peek and be able to go back inside within the said minutes? 😅 thanks
Hi! 45 minutes is enough to go out of the station for a quick look, but it depends on which station you will be stopping at. Some stations are definitely worth it (Brussels central), others, like Brussels North and Brussels Midi are not the nicest/safest. Happy travels!
Thank you very much for your video, i wanna ask that if i would like to transfer from eurostar train to belgium train in antwerb or brussels, are they in same train station eurostar and belgium train, do i need to more time to reach my connection train, thanks in advance
What kind of trains are you talking about ? Eurostar ? Or any other kind of cross Europe Line or the underground? Metro? Subway ? Sorry m absolutely NOT familiar
Hi, Can I ask the Standard Multi for £102 for 10 single trips (we are visiting at least 3 locations in Belgium) travelling via trains, there is 2 of us, it isn't clear, do we both need a multi ticket... we are travelling Charleroi to Bruges, Bruges to Dinant, Dinant to Brussels, brussels back to Charleroi and maybe a trip to Antwerp.. is this the best package as there is so many, which is great so many offers!! :) any help would be greatly appreciated. xx
i think if you are under 26 years old it's 7,50 nemed a youth ticket is from any station in belgium to any station in belgium for 7,50 but i think you already visited belgium😂
So helpful! Didn't know the ticket could be used at a different time to the ticket time!! Practical tips as always!!

When the Eurostar stops in midi zuid is it easy to find the platform to connect to brugge, that’s my worry , zuid midi looks huge

1 Question the ticket can use in tram and bus also?
Unfortunately, you can't.
just know not on all the trains are power outlets. But nice Video👍

Is the public transit in the city of Brugge pretty easy to use such as the trams or metro?
You will mainly walk everywhere as the city is very walkable. I never had to take public transportation there.
They only have buses in Brugge, no trams or metro.
What kind of trains are you talking about ? Eurostar ? Or any other kind of cross Europe Line or the underground? Metro? Subway ? Sorry m absolutely NOT familiar
In this video I was covering specifically the regional trains between the cities in Belgium😊
What about luggage? Is there anywhere to put it?
You can put your smaller bags in the overhead bin and the bigger ones you will keep next to your seat.
do you need to buy another tick if you travel from brussel to antwarp and then back, does the return ticket mean roundtrip?
One way means just one direction, round trip means going to your destination and then coming back.
@@StayFabulousTL it just says one way and return on the website, does the return=roundtrip? it doesn't say roundtrip option
Does this train go to Germany? Where does it terminate?
