The churches you visited are incredibly beautiful. The interior of the San Agustin Church was fabulous, and the Lady of Perpetual Help Church was stunning with all of the lights on it. I can see why people would be drawn to them. The interiors of these magnificent churches just lend themselves to feeling close to God and to contemplation. i am awed by their beauty.😯
First of all, THANK YOU for the walking tour! You brought back so many memories. From walking past Pacific Star where I used to work, to walking through Bgy 763 in San Andres Bukid, which is just a few minutes from our old house in Rubi St (my mum still lives there). And then Paco! The market is so sosyal na ha. I remember when it was literally a palengke. I even saw you walk past the ukay-ukay I frequented on Dart St (Angel Linao now). And Paco Cemetery is more known as Paco Park, and is more knoen as a wedding venue now. Did you know that Jose Rizal was first buried there, after his execution? The spot is still marked by a small monument, as far as I know. Paco Park is just down the street from my old high school, Manila Science, and that's where we had choir rehearsals back in the 80s. Kind of glad you didn't go to Quiapo because it's insane during Traslacion! Grabe, you walked pa to Binondo! And thanks for correcting that it was the old San Agustin Church. Manila Cathedral is outside Intramuros yata. Btw, the mall you visited was Robinson's Place Manila, not Robinson's Magnolia. 😆 The circular Malate area you noted is called Remedios Circle. It used to be the heart of the bohemian night area. Cafe Remedios and all the original Manila sing-alongs. It's mostly Korean places now. Thank you again, for the tour. Hope you do more in the future. Manila can be a beautiful area to explore, not just sosyal BGC. 😂😂😂
Kulas what an amazing long walk, unbelievable 28 km, wow, I met you on the way somewhere before Paco, we had a little chat, I was on my MC. Enjoyed talking to you. Keep it going !!! Oliver
Good morning, and happy Friday, Kulas!! Hi Therine! I caught a fast glimpse of Kumar as he dropped you off at the airport! Im looking forward to watching your trip together! You walked faaaaar Kulas! And at night time too! You're so brave and courageous! I love how so many people of every age stop to welcome you. I'm sure the locals admire you for sharing other islands and places that they only dream of seeing one day. You have some amazing drone shots of Kumar surfing and the many beautiful beaches ⛱️ I loved this video! See you on your next ADVENTURE 😊🎉 Bye Bye 👋 Kumar
Your crosswalk story reminds me of this funny short I watched. You know how in Canada you press the pedestrian cross walk button, in the video there’s a basket with bricks in it that you hold up and carry across with you, to make sure the cars stop😂
Thank you, Kulas. It's really amazing watching you walk around everywhere in Manila. I was so happy to see the places you went to on this walk kasi nakita ko ang mga pag babago ng lugar. I was still young when I went to Baclaran church. Every time we went there, I could not see the altar or half part of the church inside. It was always full of devotees. On your video, parang ang luwag na. Wow! Ang ganda na. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey. kahit sa video lang. Amping always. 🙏
I love watching your walks all over the places I have been... When I was younger I have 5 older guy cousins that I like to hang out with together or separately and they love to bring me along with them every where and we used to walk all over Manila,..we used to live on Taft Avenue near Vito Cruz and the first big mall we have 50 years ago is the Harrison Plaza near the Rizal Coliseum...it burned tho...Paco, Malate, Rizal Park,..Roxas Boulevard...I miss Manila walks...
Former batang Paco here. The Paco cemetery was used to be a cemetery for those considered by the Spaniards as "non catholics", or erehe like Jose Rizal where he was buried. Nostalgia striked me when I saw all the places you went. Brings back a lot of good memories. Missing the warmth in Philipines. Hope to be back during spring break vacation! Power on! From NewWest BC
Manila is a walkable city most especially during cold months (November to February). Nice to see familiar places you walked through. Enjoy your visit to Cebu for the Sinulog. I suggest you hop to Kalibo for the Ati-atihan (the Mother of All Filipino Festivals) on January 18-19 and to Iloilo City for the Dinagyang Festival on January 25-26. You can consider extending your stay in Iloilo for the Jaro Fiesta in Honor of Our Lady of Candles on February 2. Enjoy! Ingat! Amping! Halong!
Enjoy your visit sa Cebu. Sinulog is really something you must see & attend. 🥰Don't forget to light up a candle for peace, good health, safety & prosperity for all nations. VIVA Pit Señor Santo Niño. ❤️ Thank you, Kyle. Ingat.
Always enjoy your vids Kulas, but don’t feel like you have to clarify little things like work and life balance. Most people get that yeah, it’s kinda hard getting back into the swing of things for work after the holidays, lol. We all go thru that. You both work hard and people recognize that - best wishes for 2025!
Youre right Kulas. Walked in the most crowded places around Manila, alone as a woman and nothing bad ever happened to me, thank God! You just need act and think smart, be aware of your surroundings, always alert and be cautious -- thats all an you'll be fine.
👋🏼 Wow! 28 kilometers! Watching from Alaska so of course I have my converter out. 😜 Please continue to be safe. 🏃♂️🚙 Think my dad’s dad is from Cebu. 🤔
A not so trivial historical ltrivia: The Paco Park Cemetery used to be the original (secretly obscured) burial place of Dr. Jose Rizal after he was shot to death by order of Sanish authorities at the Bagumbayan field (now Luneta / Rizal Park. His remains were later dug out from Paco cemetery and officially interred at base of the Rizal Monument in Luneta where he now rests for all time. 🙏🙏🙏
At first glance the title made me think - he walked from Davao to Manila!? 😂But, walking 28 kms from Taguig to Baclaran is so laudable.🎉 Enjoy Cebu…I’m a subscriber - a senior - you met in the Mabuhay Lounge with my daughter last November.
You walked from Makati to Paco Park, Manila City Hall, River Esplanade then to Intramuros that's a long walk. I'm assuming you did 50K-80K steps in a day. 😱

While all forms of travel are fantastic walking through a city Barangay or other neighborhood is in my opinion the best way to meet people and feel their vibe and life. Malate is my favorite part of Manila. It is close to Manila Bay. In Malate one kind find and experience almost everything. And yes there was a lot of nightlife in the 90s. I know I experienced it. Once during one of the many coups in Manila I say and joined people celebrating in the streets while Airforce Jets flew low over the city. Malate Church is also a great place to visit. And the after hours street food is awesome. MAKATI I always felt atleast with the buildings I could be in Seattle. So I wasnt to interested there.June 14 I'm headed to Victoria BC to celebrate our Moms 95th bday. We will try the restaurant Kyle in the Government building ... Cheers 🎉
When I first went to BGC in June 1998, my companies site offices were there, The Fort was the only buildings there, the rest was empty space. Had my first night out in the Philippines there. Sad to see it finished. In 2003 I did a radar survey on parts of St. Agustin Church to try and detect if there were any cavities in some of the walls, and also a structural assessment for earthquake mitigation. As a designated World Heritage Site we couldn't do destructive surveys so we used radar. The priest there told us of stories that there was a tunnel built underground to help hide people from the Spanish. We did some radar scans in the area he thought it might be and we found on the scans what indicated a tunnel. Sadly we weren't allowed to do any further investigation. Power On.
Of all days u chose the translacion 😄. Ue already in chinatown i thought ull go to masuki. The noodles that u want before whre u walked from bgc to i dunno where only to find out its close. The original one is in chinatown.
The only thing I hate in metro Manila is the lack of sidewalks to walk on or wheel chair access. I am blind I fell off the super narrow sidewalk while I was visiting back in 2011.
Canadian cities like Edmonton have rentable eScooters, eBikes&Segways. Wonder if u can use the eScooters&eBikes, eSkateboards or segways in BGC. Sidewalks' probably too uneven plus doubt cars will give you right of way. More likely it will get stolen even if there's a geolocation limitations to it.
You had your earphones while you were walking and you have to remove it. Because you need to listen on the traffic on the street. And those bricks on the wall are really old. Sometimes they replace those bricks on the wall. You had a noodle soup with monggo sprouts and a fresh lumpia with lettuce 🍜🌯🌯🥬🥬 And they had those yellow plastic bags that they are making buntings. That they hang it on the street. And when walking on the street with few trees it can make you dizzy that it is really hot. And in Paco cemetery they had those old grave from there ancestors that they leave it out. And that is were the site that they had constitution with the Spaniards. And in Paco there are lots of trees and the air is tasty and fresh 🌳🌳🌳 Like in Quezon City Circle 🌳🌳🌳 And they sell those unripe mangoes on the street 🥭🥭🥭

Manila City is a very underrated city to walk around. The sidewalks are quite spacious, trees around, cool place and there are beautiful parks.
I don’t get that impression
