  • If Your vw golf 4 some door locks are locked and won't unlock, then one solution is to make a hole in the door panel to get access to lock mechanism and force locking mechanism to unlock.
Car in this video is VW Golf 4 Made in Germany 2002
This is the third part of 4-part video.
Where exactly make this hole, you can see at the beginning of fourth part:
    Second part is here:

I want to thank UA-cam user "stuzman" because I learned from his video:
"Understanding Volkswagen Door Lock Modules - Part 2"
    • Understanding Volkswag...
everything I needed to be able to get my locks fixed myself.
In this video shows European VW Golf 4 back door lock module. These door locks can be different in design. Locks that are meant for US market look little bit different then locks that are meant for "Rest Of The World" market.
This video shows what is happening inside the door lock module when locking mechanism switches to this so called "SAFE" state.
If You wish to see the moment where the lock is opened, then jump to 21:15
If You wish to see how RoW lock looks like from outside and how it differs US one, then jump to 2:10
If You want to see how this lock is engaging this so called "SAFE" state and makes this "extra" microswitch, then jump to 57:20
At the end of this video I was discussing about removing this "green lever" (in video at 1:05:30). I do not know for sure, but I guess that, if this "green lever" is removed, then door lock would start acting like the lock without this "extra" microswitch. There would be some sort of "conflict" between door lock and CCM, I guess. You can see about this "conflict" in this UA-cam user - VitorBart video:
    "VW Door Lock Paranoia"
    • VW Door Lock Paranoia
If I would remove this green lever, then after that could happen the same thing that happened to him - door lock would close for a moment and open back immideately.
(I found out this video thanks to stuzman after watching his video about door lock module's electrical part:
"The Electrics of Volkswagen Door Lock Modules - Part 3"
    • The Electrics of Volks...
If you wish to try to unscrew this torx T20 screw (I mean the one which I didn't recommend to unscrew in this video at 1:14:30), then watch this video:
"how to open VW car rear door that closed from in & out (solution)"

I don't completely understand, how did he managed to open lock from "safe" state with his method, but it seems that somehow he did it. You'll have to drill a hole anyway to get to the locking mechanism.
That hole, that I made thru the door metal, stayed nicely behind inner door skin - the edge of the door panel covered it up later.

Good job on the final breakdown, took us also awhile to figure out the mechnics of the same lock on a deadlock Polo 9n6. When the green lever is at the microswitch, the deadlock is activated. If you connect the lock to the car and arm the alarm, you will see the motor activates twice when locking (1.00.44). When this happens the tension on the white lever causes it (under the spring tension) to do the activation. When you press key fob once (activates the deadlock) if you lock car by pressing fob twice in quick sequence (deadlock not engaged)..... the white spring loaded lever has chamfered tab that runs up against the slots in the green lever. Majorly complicated design for a supposed simple end result (lock / unlock)

I agree about the complication of this. I never fixed it myself - car was scrapped before I got the chance to get to the bottom of this problem.
I never knew pressing twice on the fob doesn't engage deadlock condition. Good to know.

Green lever could be a safety lock so kids don't open doors while driving in a car, but still. Since my door is locked i will try to open doors with your method and as a possible fix I will just try to disassemble locking mechanism and remove green leaver

is it possible to drill a hole in module and then move a green part with a screwdriver ? we should know where to drill tho

    Hi,
I reckon the green lever provides a dead lock condition. The only way to defeat this is to drill a hole from the cog side so that the drill bit will destroy the green lever and then allow you to open the door. Obviously, you'll need to replace the entire lock module.

Hi, and what solution did you find to stop it from crashing?

There is a previous video where he tries to unlock the door . The door is shut and cannot be opened from inside or outside. You can see that he made a hole in the door panel (VW call it window carrier) in order to access the door lock levers. If you look under 'Malus Domestica 'SHOW MORE you'll see the links to the other videos.
