You truly are a great teacher and showing step by step would make anyone want to really want to learn to sew.

You did an excellent job with this advanced Vogue pattern. I have sewn with Vogue patterns for more than 40 years and they can be problematic at times. I like Vogue style and design creations which sets them apart from other garments and proud to wear. The dress came together in the end, a real challenge for any sewer. You nailed it and looks great on your body. Thank you.

I don’t know how long you’ve been sewing, but you did a great job I’ve been at it almost 50 years and I’ve made this dress and it was challenging. I did add a lining (the one thing about a lot of vogue patterns don’t have and it bugs me) and modified the opening to get it on. I also use a bias binding along the shirt edge instead of hemming.

Great job! I appreciated you taking the time to share your step I making the dress. I too had issues with the collar and somehow it worked for me. The top is difficult to get on and off as well but once on it looks amazing. I may or may not make again because of a lot of challenges. I knew I had the ability to complete the dress but I almost gave up. Your support help to complete my dress. Thank you!

Absolutely STUNNING! Thank you for sharing. Looks amazing even without the petticoat.
Reading through the comments I sigh of relief to see that even very experienced ladies have problems with the vogue patterns. I thought I was the only one. 🙃

I really love how you showed the pattern diagrams and instructions as you sewed this wonderful dress. I never would have made it through the collar. Such a great instructional video.

Brave brave young lady! We knew Vogue to be hard to work in the 50s and 60s. But worth it. You used a lot of skills. Beautiful dress.

A gorgeous dress! This was one of the first vintage reprint dresses I made and it was a trying proces to say at least. I needed a small breakdown and half a bottle of wine to finish it. 😂

My mother wore dresses like this. She wore a stiff underskirt ( with stiff netting) that gave the skirt a silhouette similar to that shown in the pattern illustration. I know it may be hard to find someone to help with marking a level hemline but my mother was very careful about having a perfectly straight hemline.

I know that word looks like gros-grain, but it's actually pronounced grow-grain.

I've sewn a few vintage patterns (not this one) and they can be a little tricky sometimes. I no longer cut the tissue pattern. I trace it onto sturdier pattern paper and use that. Please don't sew over your pins, you will be very unhappy when you break your sewing needle. A piece of your needle or pin can get jammed in your bobbin shuttle. It's not a pretty picture.

You need a petticoat for the 52s silhouette/look.

I absolutely hate pattern instructions. All patterns should come with a QR code that takes to you a detailed tutorial.
