I think it was a illegal who's refreshed in the pond and probably slept in the container over night. Lost a shoe running from either Sadie or the Longhorns losing one shoe.
And the Left Wide5 Open Gate and Door to the Container for Side by Side- someone may have Sheltered there- would a "Trasspassers Prosecuted" sign make Any Difference- maybe to some Noseyparkers?
I came here to say the same thing. So many people don’t say anything because they think “oh, it’s nothing.” And that is why there are so many unsolved cases. If it’s nothing…. No harm no foul… if it is something… then the authorities are able to get one step closer to solving a case.
Now a days one never knows, I am really glad you did report it ! And NEVER let the law enforcement discard your thoughts or feelings, they are there for a reason and that is to help. It may be a good idea for Lester to put a lock on the feed bin and gates, if he can. The economy is bad enough for a lot of people.

Yup I was thinking the same things. Yeah the rest stop isn’t on top of them but it’s next door. They might feel like it’s not that close but in my opinion it’s pretty close. Close enough weird stuff can come from it without a doubt!

I'm glad you called the sheriff's office. I have a friend in N.Carolina, who lives alone. I live in Maine. She and I talked often. She didn't answer my calls or texts for a few days. I called the police in Chapel Hill, and asked for a welfare check. Unfortunately, she had passed. Point being, better to say something and possibly be pooh poohed, then nothing. I hope your call leads to an investigation. Probably won't, but your report will have been made. Love you ❤

I too live alone. Before I retired, I told all my coworkers if I don’t show for work and haven’t called to advise why, have authorities do a welfare check on me.
Doesn't hurt to report what's going on. I feel better knowing the authorities have been informed. That rest area makes me very nervous, no telling what goes on there!

I'm of the idea that someone was wearing gloves to hide fingerprints & was looking into stealing but got interrupted by sadie & possibly chased & ran into the pond to escape her & then stripped off wet jeans to get into transport
Time for additional cameras alarm systems and NO TRESPASSING signs. Don't know about your county, but read up on it. It is VERY important to have signs posted and visibly legal. My friend in the mountains found that out. Stay safe & cautious. 🙏🐕🐂 💕
I am glad you called it in. For the life of me, I don't understand why anyone would go into a pasture that could possibly have longhorns in it. The only thing I can think of is maybe they were under the influence of something illegal. I don't think those are crop circles, I think it is some kind of animals bedding down.

We had a farm not far from the interstate and a rest area right down the road. We had people trespass on our land over the 40 years we lived there…. ONE happened to be tracked by police dogs onto our property because of a prisoner who had escaped from a prison 15 miles away. Barns, loafing sheds etc are magnets for people seeking shelter. With what is going on in our country it’s good to report such things. Check out a person who made a list on your comments section named Julindhig… I didn’t want to repeat her list but she “Right On”. I have always been a true crime junkie and when the police are trying to solved a crime, they always ask the public to report anything out of the ordinary or suspicious, even if you think it’s nothing because you never know! It could be the missing piece that just might solve a crime and bring a loved one closure.

That is why the front gate NEEDS to be kept shut. I saw Lester drive through and front gate wide open and I commented he needs to keep the gate at front of property shut!! Those pastures need a haying season cutting. When I was in my twenty's that fence wouldn't be nothing. Went through many of those to get away from a bull. (mean bull, nothing like Tex. He hated all people)

Good morning Jami. Awe the snake was the trespasser I was expecting an actual person had come through the trees from the rest area and you both stopped in your tracts going WTHeck. Happy that you reported it to the LE officers but if they just hymm and haw that isn't going to give you any answers. The only other thing I was really wondering if you got a fishfinder on the boat, take it off if not too much work put the scope in the water and have the sonar scan 75 ft which would cover the full pond. That at least would tell you if the pond is empty. Sadie loves her people, you and Lester and came to make sure you were okay. Thanks for sharing and HAGD.
I'd offer to let someone bring on a trailer and live rent free and put up way more cameras by that parking lot that can't be seen. I myself would worry about someone hurting the animals.
I think you need to put up bright flood lights and electric fencing. I understand it's costly but so is losing your animals or your own life and sanity if a stranger is there.
Jamie, I’m so glad you think that way. Reporting is what Lester should have done from the beginning. That is a big property and not easy to keep en eye in all corners when you don’t live there full time. What if somebody is dead at the bottom of the pond? Even if you don’t get a good answer from police, they have to investigate for your own safety.
That looks to me like this could be the case of a stray migrant Jams… Perhaps some drugged up person, a runaway, hitchhiker… But the wildest (and funniest) thing that came to my mind was… Whichever one of the above characters had the shi*s pretty bad and decided to wash up in the pond and left behind their soiled pants and shoes, and the glove was just to handle their own mess.. Yep, I thought of that lmaoo! However, it could well be (and probably much more likely to) all the other hypothesis you’ve mentioned. Although I laughed imagining my story.😅😂😂😂
I agree with everything you've said and done. Also, males get taken and trafficked as well. It terrifies me for people. I tell our kids and nieces and nephews that if they're ever out and there's a shipping container anywhere near the clubs to leave and report it because I have read in multiple places that is where they put people after they drug them and then the containers are gone before the next day. And like you guys, we are surrounded by interstates and back roads and plenty of wood to camouflage them until they travel. You did the right thing.

The More cameras you have the more some might think twice . I have 9 cameras at my house because we had issue here and the Cop told me the best thing I could do is get cameras. Being that close to the highway it could be anything. Im glad you reported it. Very Creepy.
Jami, there are some excellent comments and suggestions here. It is a beautiful property. Sadly, it's too late now, but those who commented that the rest stop and highway are reasons they never would have bought the property are spot on. Best you can do now is take every possible security measure you can to protect the animals, your equipment and the fields. Never hesitate to call the police when necessary.
You have a good point. If it was someone being trafficked the brush nor barbed wire would have stopped them, however, wouldn't think they would stop out in the open to strip unless they thought they were safe. I'm guessing you lock the RV or else you may have had a unwanted guest. Do like LE and put cameras everywhere, in this case I think it is warranted. Good luck!

At least you are making a paper trail. Most of the locals are probably used to the property being semi- abandoned that the new sign and fencing have probably picked their curiosity. And older teens and twenty somethings love making "exploring abandoned property" videos. The fact that they are trespassing and might get caught just adds to the thrill. Stay safe guys. 💖🙏💖

I had an aunt missing for two weeks and it sucks not knowing. It wasn’t a good ending she was killed by a family friend. He is in jail now but it took 35 year to get him. He only got 14 years. So wrong.

I think you were right to report it. I would still put some “No trespassing” signs (in several languages) at the corner of the property. Funny part was I kept expecting some person who follows the page to see you walking in the pasture stop to say hello to you, not a Nope Rope stopping the investigation.🤣🤣

Jami, I pray that when you are out like that you are armed. Snakes, ferral dogs, trespassers etc. The area you were walking in is so open and you could be being watched. Please be careful and I am glad you called the police. Enjoy your beautiful property but stay aware wherever you are at.

That is why the front gate NEEDS to be kept shut. I saw Lester drive through and front gate wide open and I commented he needs to keep the gate at front of property shut!!
Those pastures need a haying season cutting. When I was in my twenty's that fence wouldn't be nothing. Went through many of those to get away from a bull. (mean bull, nothing like Tex. He hated all people)

Good morning Jami. Awe the snake was the trespasser I was expecting an actual person had come through the trees from the rest area and you both stopped in your tracts going WTHeck. Happy that you reported it to the LE officers but if they just hymm and haw that isn't going to give you any answers. The only other thing I was really wondering if you got a fishfinder on the boat, take it off if not too much work put the scope in the water and have the sonar scan 75 ft which would cover the full pond. That at least would tell you if the pond is empty. Sadie loves her people, you and Lester and came to make sure you were okay. Thanks for sharing and HAGD.

I'd offer to let someone bring on a trailer and live rent free and put up way more cameras by that parking lot that can't be seen. I myself would worry about someone hurting the animals.
I think you need to put up bright flood lights and electric fencing. I understand it's costly but so is losing your animals or your own life and sanity if a stranger is there.
It scares me that Sadie has been near the front of the property!! What's to keep her from going through the fence when no one is there?
Jamie, I’m so glad you think that way. Reporting is what Lester should have done from the beginning. That is a big property and not easy to keep en eye in all corners when you don’t live there full time. What if somebody is dead at the bottom of the pond? Even if you don’t get a good answer from police, they have to investigate for your own safety.
That looks to me like this could be the case of a stray migrant Jams… Perhaps some drugged up person, a runaway, hitchhiker… But the wildest (and funniest) thing that came to my mind was… Whichever one of the above characters had the shi*s pretty bad and decided to wash up in the pond and left behind their soiled pants and shoes, and the glove was just to handle their own mess.. Yep, I thought of that lmaoo!
However, it could well be (and probably much more likely to) all the other hypothesis you’ve mentioned. Although I laughed imagining my story.😅😂😂😂
I agree with everything you've said and done. Also, males get taken and trafficked as well. It terrifies me for people. I tell our kids and nieces and nephews that if they're ever out and there's a shipping container anywhere near the clubs to leave and report it because I have read in multiple places that is where they put people after they drug them and then the containers are gone before the next day. And like you guys, we are surrounded by interstates and back roads and plenty of wood to camouflage them until they travel. You did the right thing.

The More cameras you have the more some might think twice . I have 9 cameras at my house because we had issue here and the Cop told me the best thing I could do is get cameras. Being that close to the highway it could be anything. Im glad you reported it. Very Creepy.

Jami, there are some excellent comments and suggestions here. It is a beautiful property. Sadly, it's too late now, but those who commented that the rest stop and highway are reasons they never would have bought the property are spot on. Best you can do now is take every possible security measure you can to protect the animals, your equipment and the fields. Never hesitate to call the police when necessary.

You have a good point. If it was someone being trafficked the brush nor barbed wire would have stopped them, however, wouldn't think they would stop out in the open to strip unless they thought they were safe. I'm guessing you lock the RV or else you may have had a unwanted guest.

At least you are making a paper trail. Most of the locals are probably used to the property being semi- abandoned that the new sign and fencing have probably picked their curiosity. And older teens and twenty somethings love making "exploring abandoned property" videos. The fact that they are trespassing and might get caught just adds to the thrill. Stay safe guys. 💖🙏💖
Jami - You are right to wonder and be concerned. No one abandons a decent vehicle or disappears out of their clothes for no reason. The glove makes me wonder if the cops or EMTs had something to do with both abandonment issues. You may want to investigate that angle. Your concerns are on point and rational. 👍💪🤗

I had an aunt missing for two weeks and it sucks not knowing. It wasn’t a good ending she was killed by a family friend. He is in jail now but it took 35 year to get him. He only got 14 years. So wrong.
I thought Lester was joking, especially since the shoe had hole or chew marks. Glad you reported it, like you said, could solve a mystery. Sadie is so friendly, hope she does not make friends with strangers like some dogs do.
